Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@annahoang Im not one to mask everyday. I go by what my skin needs/issues so I *usually* mask about 3 x week. I have oily & picky skin so I have to be careful not to overdue it. I also prefer mud masks over sheet masks. This mask set is a step out of my comfort zone, & its special because it says to do in a row. I recently have gotten out of the habit to mask even 3 x week so I'm actually using this to shake up my system. And it's been a lil rough-cause I get bored easy but also interesting to find out what they smell like each night....😉 dont be afraid to post just because you mask only once a week even. All the ladies on this thread are super sweet & welcoming! 🤗 happy masking!

I typically enjoy green tea masks too! @Shosh85 all the masks have given good results so only complaints have been with the fit in some....🤔

I started off with the Farmskin superfood salad for skin avocado mask. It was a really thin sheet mask drenched in serum. The scent was hard to describe but it was nice. It says to leave on for 15 to 20 minutes but I left it on for 30 and there was still plenty of serum to massage in. It was slightly tacky at first but it absorbed nicely and my face felt soft and hydrated. While I did like it it’s probably not one I would repurchase but I would use it again. Then I used 2 of my new favorite products the lanolips strawberry ointment and MegRhythm yuzu steam eye mask.

those eye masks are the best @faeriegirl sorry to hear the avacado wasn't impressive

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I really need to pick up one of those Lanolips @faeriegirl. This thread has been great for learning about new balmsSmiley Wink

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe I got the strawberry and the lemonaid and I love them both😊

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Oooh now I’d like to try that lemonade balm with the Sara Happ lip scrub @faeriegirl! Need to work that in next week somehow🤔

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I am going to have to try this combo out @faeriegirl; I am pretty sure I have all of these goodies. Love the lip ointment and the steam eye masks. Smiley Happy

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@faeriegirl the steam eye mask looks so interesting!! The ointment sounds great, too. This thread is so enabling!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@annahoang It definitely is enabling😂 My mask and lip balm stash has grown a lot seeing all the great reviews on here!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@faeriegirl The Farmskin masks are sounding pretty decent! Glad you liked this one! 🥑

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thursday night Masking Fun!

Spoiler
I started off with a quick Sand & Sky mild exfoliation to help ease some dry skin away.  I'm really enjoying this product the more I use it.  Will for sure be getting a full size.  The gentleness of the 'sand' is key, I feel like I've gotten to scrub without any harshness.
In shower I used the Living Proof Triple Detox Shampoo, which isn't really a mask.... but I was inspired to use it again after seeing  's thread on gratis updates.  I've used this a few times, and I do like it, but I'm not sold on needing it.  I find that I need quite a bit of product to get my entire head done.  After the shampoo, my hair feels like straw, If you've ever dyed your hair a lighter colour and know that super dry bleached out feeling, this is it, times 10.  I put a hair mask on in lieu of conditioner, the Too Cool For School Egg Remedy Hair Pack (forgot it in the shower for the pic).  I really like this hair mask and it transformed my straw hair into smooth, silky strands.  Today I found that my hair got a bit oily earlier in the day than it usually does.  I'm thinking this is from overcompensating for getting my scalp scrubbed extra clean.
I finally decided that I needed to use the Sweet Chef Kale mask.  I saw all the reviews about the bad fit, but I still needed to try these masks out for myself.  The first thing I noticed was the scent when I opened it up.  It was herbal, and I really enjoyed it!  It had a nice milky serum, and the mask was perfectly saturated.  The material was soft and the fit was crazy off, as expected.  It was too long both in the forehead and chin.  I trimmed these areas and put them on the sides of my face that weren't quite covered. I left the mask on for about 35 minutes and could have gotten away with 40.  My skin felt fantastic as I was massaging the serum left on my face in.  It felt, soft, hydrated, and super healthy.  No tackiness with this serum.  I really, really, enjoyed the fabric and serum on this one.  It's so sad that the fit is so off.  Truth be told, I might buy this one again, even with the horrible fit.  Has anyone tried the serums from Sweet Chef?  Do they compare to the masks?  The mask formula has me thinking I might need to try the serums!

yeah I'm not thrilled with that straw like feeling @missjeanie love the sand and sky scent ❤️ the kale mask, sounds excellent

Re: yeah I'm not thrilled with that straw like feeling @missj...

I'm super excited to try more Sand & Sky now @lmaster .  I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who gets that 'straw' feeling with the LP too... First time I used it I almost panicked in the shower thinking I'd somehow ruined my hair!  And yes, the kale was sooo nice.  Just such a no on the fit. I'm thinking I might be able to overlook it/work around though?

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie I’m so glad this mask gave you some good results. I was not a fan, though don’t remember the results because I was so annoyed by the fit.

Nice description on the LP! I’m still using mine every other week or so. I’m always amused by how straw-like my hair feels after using it, too. And surprised that it goes back to normal after deep conditioning!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

The fit really was awful @eshoe .  I'm crossing my fingers that the serum is similar to the one on the mask and I could just avoid the mask part of this one going forward.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie if the serum is the same, it might be more economical to buy a few sheet masks and squeeze out the serum onto one of those DIY masksSmiley Wink

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

There was a decent amount of serum in the masks... you might be onto something @eshoe !

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie, the Sand & Sky has been a hit with others on here; it's on my list. If you end up picking up one of the Sweet Chef serums, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on them. I don't need more serums but they just sound so good! Smiley Happy
