@ShortErica Most of mine I bought direct (although their website is currently being remodeled) because of a sale they were having. When BioBelle has sales they are usually really good – the last time it was BOGO free, so I do try and watch for that. I've also picked a few up at Ulta (like @eshoe mentioned) and at Kohl's. 😃
@faeriegirl Haven't tried one I haven't liked yet! 👍
It’s the first day of “V” and “Guess this Mask” week. Here’s my Monday morning mask – can you guess who I am? Or, more apropos to this thread, which mask am I? (No searching Google images, okay?) I plan to update this post with clues throughout the day (well, for this first one at least, not sure how much time I'll have to do that for other masks during the week after Monday). I'll post the reveal and my review of the mask later in the day. 🙂
Clue #1: (I'll try to drop more clues throughout the day)
Thank you so much @veronika23 for this fabulous idea for a theme! Very creative and fun! 🙂
ETA: I went with the description of the challenge theme that was on the mask schedule on the original post and didn’t see that @eshoe had added the part about not putting a pic of the packaging into the challenge until now, after I had put a cropped pic up … oops.
Mirror Mirror on the wall... Who's the cleverest of them all?? @itsfi It's you! lol I have no idea which mask this is!
@missjeanie, @Shosh85 is a masking extraordinaire and guessed the mask with the first clue. She's on it! My other clues would have been -
Clue #2: I’m obsessed with being the fairest of all.
Clue #3: Beware if I come bearing apples…
@itsfi I love it! I'll have to try to come up with some masking clues this week!
Alright, time for the big reveal -
@Shosh85was the first to be right on the money and both she and @ShortErica were right as to the character. V is for Villian, and apple was the ingredient of the morning, with the SexyLook Disney Villians EVIL QUEEN Brightening Black Mask and the eos Visibly Soft Lip Balm in Honey Apple. The sheet mask is a black cotton sheet mask with obsidian (moisturizing), tranexamic acid (brightening), hyaluronic acid (hydrating) and apple extract (brightening) as the notable ingredients. The mask fit like my face like most sheet masks but a half inch off the chin and jawline and some snips at the corners of the eyes and mouth generally did the trick. I also needed to make some adjustments to the nose area which was extra wide. Adherence was good; there was a scent to it but it wasn't anything that stood out to me. The mask wore so comfortably that I forgot I had it on for 45 minutes, which was probably as long as it should have been worn, and afterwards, my skin looked fresh and bright and felt soft, supple and hydrated. Sounds good right? Well, it was...sorta. One villianous trait of this mask is that it contains parabens. I tend to prefer sheet masks made without parabens but if a mask I use every so often has it, I don't get too flustered by it, especially if it's near the bottom of the ingredients list which is where they normally appear if at all in my experience. This one, however, was closer to the top and for that, I'll say this was a fun one to use for "guess this mask" (though it would have been even more fun if the mask itself was designed with the Evil Queen's face on it) but it won't be a repurchase.
You were really on theme with the eos, @itsfi, love it 😉
@itsfi I was thinking we were supposed to guess the brand too! Besides the parabens, this one sounds soo good! I saw another line of villains (and the princesses too) that had the character faces on the masks and the villains definitely looked pretty creepy! I loved the clues you had lined up to say next! 😍
@Shosh85, I'll probably be exercising some creative license with the guess the mask theme this week in terms of what we're meant to guess; in large part because there are so many brands (and masks) out there. For the one I did, I would have been fine with Evil Queen or Villain. I literally just learned of the brand when I read it this morning so it seemed like asking a lot to have others guess it, especially as I don't think there have been many masks used on the thread by that brand.
Thanks for the solution @itsfi. Do you have other masks for this week lined up? I am enjoying this guessing game even if I don't think I'm good at it.
@ShortErica, I think I'll try to do it again a couple more times this week; maybe put up clues, hints and/or pics in the morning before I leave for work and then do the reveal when I get home. I have a couple of long days this week so the big reveals might be pretty late, but we'll see. If not, I'll do another one next weekend.
@lmaster, other than wishing that it was without parabens, it would have been an added perk if the mask itself looked like the Evil Queen!
@itsfi in using the skII essence and it has a paraben,,, I'm about 3/4 done with it, then I can finally bust out my beloved omorovicza essence
I love how much fun you all are making this so far @itsfi! And don’t worry, your photo is perfect-no names and it’s not easily identifiable. 💗 what you did with it👍🏼 I have no guesses but will be tuning in to see which mystery mask you have here.
