ARCHIVE - 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! Please continue posting on the Q4 Thread which can be found here:

Spoiler

Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

To Post:

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Like @Shosh85 I know the pic is the evil queen from Snow White but have no idea what mask it is or the brand @itsfi. So even if you "broke" the picture rule, you are still fooling me!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi So fun! I know I've seen these before, but don't recall the brand name. I don't know if it's this same brand, but I know there's a set of Disney Villian masks – this one looks like the Evil Queen from Snow White! Can't wait to hear your review on this (and also exactly what this one is!)

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Last night, I went with a couple of different products for my last fruit focused masks for fruits and veggies week. The OH peel could also fit in with this week's V theme, for Vitamin C. 🙂

IMG_7831.JPG

The Ole Henriksen Power Bright 3- Step Professional Brightening System is an oldie but goodie and is a fabulous citrus-scented peel! I can usually eek out 2 uses with each packet, and a box of these comes with 6 packets. I picked up a few boxes from TJ Maxx / Marshalls earlier this year and I’m glad I stocked up because I don’t think OH makes this set anymore.

IMG_7827.JPG

I couldn’t let fruits and veggies week end last night without using a peach-scented product, so I reached for the Iroha Hand Mask Gloves Repair (Peach) and Iroha Foot Mask Socks Repair (Peach). The first time I tried these I had let them sit in my bin for a long time and the scent was fading. I keep getting drawn in by the peach on these packets and picking up a pair. I'm glad I do though because these hand and foot masks smell peach-rrific. 😉 Topped off my lips with the Chapstick Peaches & Cream lip balm, which smells like a peachsicle milkshake – yuuuum!

ooook have that chapstick @itsfi just have not used it ye...

ooook have that chapstick @itsfi just have not used it yet! sounds delish

Re: ooook have that chapstick @itsfi just have not used it ye...

It smells so good @lmaster! Just like its name says - peaches and cream! 🙂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

The peach masks and balm sound great @itsfi❤️🍑 I remember using those OH peels and liking them. Have you tried the transforming ones in the blue packets?

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@faeriegirl, I have a box of the blue packets but I haven't used them yet. Have you tried them?

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

It’s been awhile since I used them @itsfi but I remember I really liked the almond polish and the comfort mask. And if I remember right the lemon part was pretty tingly.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi I love the OH Power Bright! Definitely effective and the scent is so nice! I remember when I first started using it, it was really hard for me to remember not to wash off step 2! Haha!

I bet after the Hand and Foot masks you smelled delicious! 🍑 I picked up a three pack of chapstick that had the peaches & cream, and it really is soo good! The pink lemonade and sweet watermelon flavors are excellent too!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Your chapstick 3-pack had peaches & cream, pink lemonade and watermelon, @Shosh85?!! ❤️ I'm going to have to find that set. 🙂 Those would be a dream lip balm set for me. Mine was a 3-pack as well, but the other flavors are green jelly bean and cotton candy. I haven't tried the other two...yet. I'm gonna need to find me some corresponding masks... or I'll have to get creative to pair them with complementary masks.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi I think I saw that 3 pack too! I found mine at Walmart 😃

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

No Walmart near me @Shosh85, but I'm within walking distance to a CVS and Walgreens, so I'll take a look. If not, there's always good ol' amazon! 🙂 Thank you!!

2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Last weeks masking was a fun week. Moreso because I could use my Freedman masks. I was in Ulta and picked up two more tubes and two sheet masks. Thursday I used the mint mask. The new feature I didn't notice before was the cooling effect. One con is it sat too long and my skin began to itch because it was too uncomfortable. That was user error. A rating. I used these pomegranate eye masks afterwards. Love these and will like stick with this brand once I'm out of my remaining masks. A+ raiting. Friday, I just had to use the sheet mask. The only con was the excess milky serum. Otherwise the mask fit great, extra serum and had a nice texture. Just way too much serum. I had to wipe off. No way to let it dry naturally. B+ rating. I would not reconsider purchasing again. Lastly, I used Kiehl's mask. I'm not sure if it is my all time favorite mask of Kiehl's, but it's so close. I love the texture of this mask and the benefits was wonderful. One con is take it off in the recommended time. Otherwise it requires lots of manipulation to rinse off. A+ raiting

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

oh Turmeric and Cranberry sounds like a great mask @IndyQT317 !

thanks for reviewing these @IndyQT317 sounds really great

thanks for reviewing these @IndyQT317 sounds really great

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

A cooling mask sounds especially nice right now @IndyQT317! have you tried using a makeup eraser to remove masks? @lmaster suggested it awhile back and it’s saved me so much grief.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@IndyQT317 Such a great masking session! I like the sound of the mint mask having a cooling effect- that always feels so nice to me. I actually like that the sheet mask had a crazy amount of milky serum - but sometimes I'll shake the mask out a little bit first. The Kiehls mask sounds wonderful! What does it smell like?

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@IndyQT317, I've loved all the Sephora eye masks that I've used; they're great! Helpful to have your thoughts on both Freeman masks; I've picked those up and put them back a couple of times. Will pass on the sheet masks but that mint+lemon clay mask sounds like a good fit for my T-zone this summer! Love the purple nails! 🙂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Nice masking @IndyQT317! The Kiehl’s mask sounds great😊

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hahahaha,  i’m Away from home for a couple days and brought a couple unicorn masks.  I tried the Unicorn Glow mask from the masks on the move box.  It juiced all over me when I opened the package.  So much serum and not a very absorbant material.  The rainbow detail was super cute but the fit was....well, terrible. Hilariously so.   It’s like a thin papery material and the nose isn’t cut properly.  It is super moisturizing but I had to take it off early cause it fitting so close to my eyes plus the extreme juiciness equated to the serum getting into my eyes.  If I had a pair of scissors on me I could have made this work better.  Good concept with the rainbow but poor execution with the material.  8ABC58C4-65E6-4070-AA6E-76B5907F65F4.jpeg

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@heartsmyface I tried this one last night as well.  I agree such a dud due to the material!
