Ohh good to know about the Fresh glow powder! Thanks! Sounds like the other mask was a good one too. 🙂 @Kim888
I attended Summer Friday event on Saturday which lasted for hardly half an hour. Only one of the two founders (Mariana) showed up and even though she is gorgeous and super sweet but I got a feeling that she isn’t really aware of the making of her products. Whatever she told about her brand is what you find on the brand and product pages on Sephora website. She however provided great tips about starting business and how to become an influencer.
Anyways that gave me a nudge to checkout the brand so I collected samples for two of their masks. I have posted this review on IG (@_the.fairy.tales) as well so you can pass it if we are connected on IG and you have read it there
First I tried R+R Mask and want to share my thoughts on it. Texture of this mask is like a balm with red and white gritty particles. It had a very strong Rose 🌹 scent. I don’t like scented skincare products but don’t mind mild rose scent. Actually I use rose water mist and Korres wild rose face oil very frequently and love the mild rosy scent but this mask has an excessively strong scent for my taste. I had a mild headache by the time 10 minutes application time was over. I couldn’t massage on my face as instructed because the particular in it are a bit too harsh and kind of felt like poking into the skin. I clean it with the wet wash cloth as instructed and still felt like I had some product left on my face which was expected. So I massaged it in. My skin did felt very soft and bouncy and the effect was there since morning.
Overall I would say if we disregard strong scent and spiky particular in the mask, the results are great. Personally it isn’t my cup of tea because of the two reasons I mentioned. If the brand ever consider reformulating it with a muted scent and finer particular than the current version, I would definitely love to use it.
If you are someone who don’t mind scent and are into strong physical exfoliation, give it a try because it does give the results.
@fatimamummy Aw too bad about the sting scent. It would still make a food foot mask if you have extra to get through ;);). May as well make your feet happy.
@heartsmyface @That’s exactly what I do with anything that doesn’t work for my face and is past the time to return 😁
@fatimamummy, sorry to hear the R+R mask didn't work out for you. I agree that the fragrance with this mask is on the stronger side. I was okay with the scent here but can definitely see how it's not for someone who is sensitive to fragrance. I'm interested in using it again soon, because my recollection is that I found the mask to not be exfoliating enough. I'll have to try it another day to see if that is still the case.
@itsfi I don’t use any physical exfoliant other than PMD so I usually avoid scrubby products and find them irritating which may not be the case for you if you are used to of granulated masks.
@fatimamummy thank you for sharing this here! I do like that mask but don't use it too often due to the abrasiveness of the exfoliating granules. Cool that there was an event, was it packed?
@eshoe They sent a warning email informing the space is limited so seats will be available on first come bases even though you have registered for event but in reality there were only 15 people to be exact and they had to remove a. Outlet of lines of empty chairs before the founder came. Either the warning email was a bluff or it back fired and ppl didn’t come thinking they won’t get seats 🤷♀️
Not what I expected to hear, @fatimamummy. That’s disappointing.
@eshoe I was expecting a jam packed event 😂
@fatimamummy Thanks so much for the great review! I tried a sample of this twice and decided it wasn't for me either - mostly due to the scent. My nose isn't a big fan of floral/rose and I frequently get headaches from that type of scent. I tried the Overtime mask by the same brand and really loved the pumpkin scent. My face isn't too sensitive to exfoliation so it didn't bother me, but have heard it's a bit too much for others as well.
@Shosh85 IMO it is the shape of white partials that is an issue, it might have been a lot tolerable if there were rounded beads instead of spiky bits .
Thanks so much for the review @fatimamummy. I have a feeling my skin may be too sensitive for this.
Very interesting looking. It does seem like those would be rough particles and I don't think I'd be able to handle the scent either @fatimamummy. Thanks for sharing!
@ShortErica The particles are in smaller amount but their shape is pretty rough and feels like poking.
Yep, pass for sure @fatimamummy! Don't want my face poked.
@lmaster @I read the description and reviews on Overtime mask and decided it wasn’t for me either.
Thanks for your thoughts @fatimamummy! That would be a pass for me because of the scent. I don't like rose scented products... very mildly scented I can handle... and sometimes if the product is good I can overlook it, but in general I don't like it. I'm also sensitive to scents so if you got a headache I would certainly get one too.
@veronika23 I am not very sensitive to scents. It’s mostly I don’t like them in the stuff I put on my face. This was the first product ever that actually gave me headache so if you want to try it, I would highly recommend taking a sniff before putting it on.
