2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! Welcome to the second half of the challenge. Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

To Post:

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I have that Jeu'Demeure mask as well, @GalPalVal17 and I keep passing it over. It sounds decent, I had high hopes for it though! I will try using it for 15 minutes to avoid the drying down, thanks for the tipSmiley Happy

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Week 24 - Jun 10 - 16 - X - Morning Masking

So today I am able to wake up early for work but couldn't do it once last week. 😂 So my morning/mid-day masking was on Saturday. I opted for the SNP Fruits Gelato Brightening Mask. @eshoe sent me this goodie and the encouragement to use it in the morning.

20190615_113943.jpg

20190615_113929.jpg20190615_113934.jpg

My plan to take a bath while masking was squashed since I rolled my ankle at frisbee on Friday. You know, the whole RICE thing to heal vs. putting something swollen in a piping hot bath. The mask would have gone perfectly with the Dr. Teal's pink Himalyan bath salt. Seriously the smell of the mask reminded me very much of the bath salt scent. In all honesty, it isn't my favorite smell but when a slight scent is the biggest problem, then no worries.

My face:

Dang the fit was beautiful. I only needed the minorest of smooshing by my mouth. It even reached up to my hairline pretty perfectly. The feel of the material was also nice.

I wore the mask around 35 minutes while propping my leg up and icing. I should mention it is just a minor sprain and the swelling is mostly down just 48 hours later. I could smell the grapefruit occasionally while I wore it. I think others may get more out of the experience than I did just based on scent preference.

The mask did brighten quite well. I should have looked to see how my forehead wrinkles were but quickly glancing at the claims and ingredients, I don't think that was the purpose of the mask. My skin was somewhat tacky after removing and faded after some time to only slightly tacky.

I think A- is appropriate. It's a me, not you reason for the critiques and overall it was a really nice experience. I would definitely be up for one of these masks with maybe a less noticeable scent. Not that the scent was strong but grapefruit is well, a bolder fruit than others.

There was a ton of excess serum. Maybe 5-10mL. It was quite liquidy so I poured it into a container and have been using it the past couple of mornings as an extra step to brighten. I think the sheet mask works better than patting this on but hey, why waste it!

Looking ahead, I can't wait for this week. I almost wanted to mask this morning but I've got the Yadah Pore Caring set out already since I'm going to lightly test my ankle tonight and workout. I'll be smart, play easy, and have it wrapped. Smiley Happy Excited to report how this one goes since I haven't tried it before and see all the other Y mask reviews.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ShortErica  What a perfect fit!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I love when sheet masks fit so well @emaisgr8

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ShortErica It's been awhile since I tried this one, but I remember liking it! I'm happy it worked out well for you!

Sorry to hear about your ankle! I hope it heals quickly! 🤞

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85 did I send you one? This is the one I have a pack of so I was happy it was good. But if you want a more recent memory I'll add it to my list of surprise Shosh with. Smiley Happy The ankle is doing better but I'll be happy when I don't have to baby it anymore.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Sounds great @ShortErica ! Sorry about your ankle.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thanks @divaknits. I've got lots of Y masks lined up so hopefully it is a good distraction from the ankle.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ShortErica  sounds like a great mask! Sorry to hear about your ankle hope it feels better soon!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thanks so much @ather. It's mending and I'm getting some ankle definition back.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ShortErica  Your frisbee game seems very dangerous!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ather In general, it should be a non-contact sport though sometimes it is. I just jumped then slipped in the wet grass when I landed and turned my ankle. Nobody's fault but mine and the weather. Darn you rain!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ShortErica  aww that’s to bad. I was picturing a contact frisbee. Lol

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ShortErica  What a perfect fit! That's great! I hope your ankle feels better soon - ugh, I know how rough that can be.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thank you @PrettyPaint. Masking lets me multitask by treating my face and resting my ankle. I'm glad it's just a sprain.

that does fit very nicely @ShortErica

that does fit very nicely @ShortErica

Re: that does fit very nicely @ShortErica

I was so impressed. Maybe my twin (I dont really have a twin..at least that I know about) was the mask model @lmaster 🤣

Re: that does fit very nicely @ShortErica

@ShortErica too funny!!

Re: that does fit very nicely @ShortErica

@lmaster Weird Erica thoughts I'll share - when I was younger I used to imagine that we all had an opposite sex doppelganger and that it was our mission in life to find that person. I was a strange one. 🤣

Re: that does fit very nicely @ShortErica

That's very interesting @ShortErica but cute 😉

Re: that does fit very nicely @ShortErica

@lmaster I think it could be a cool concept for a book.
