2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! Welcome to the second half of the challenge. Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

To Post:

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@PrettyPaint  I've only tried a few so far, but have liked them all! Based on my experience combined with the reviews I've read, it really does seem like a great brand! 😃👍

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85  This one sounds nice, I think I might have this one to try.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@emaisgr8 I really enjoyed it! I hope you end up liking it too! 😃🍊

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

The list of fruits in the ingredients list is making me hungry @Shosh85! 😋 Love the thinness is the material on these masks. Orange tang!! Brings back childhood memories. My mom didn’t let us have it at home but I had a few times when I went to birthday parties. 😆

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi That list of fruits was nice to see! I love a good citrusy/fruity mask! 🍊

My mom gave me tang a lot as a kid, but mostly because it was cheap and we were poor. 😉😆

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85 I loved Tang! I remember one of my favorite dinners was rice with raisins, butter and sugar. I didn't know until I was older it was because it was all we had on those nights. It was just like having dessert to me Smiley Very Happy

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe That sounds pretty good to me, almost like rice pudding without the pudding. 😉

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

We weren’t allowed to have it because we were too “spirited” as it was @Shosh85! Hahahaha! 😂🤣😂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I love a good citrus scent!!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ather It's always nice when it's a good citrusy scent and not a pledge cleaner kind of citrusy scent! Haha! I've gotten those several times 😬

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85 nice! always enjoy a citrus-y scant and glad it worked out well for you!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Kim888 It's a great one! My favorite masks are the ones that are fruity scented.....(and chocolate scented too) 😉

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Not about the mask function but I'm kinda digging the skinny packaging on these and some of the Candy O'Lady masks @Shosh85. Happily using a box seems good though! Smiley Wink

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ShortErica I really like the packaging too - takes up less space! 😃

Multi-masking with Vitamin E

IMG_E8660.JPG

Spoiler
Tuesday night's involved both of this week’s challenge themes – multi-masking and Vitamin E. None of these products are new to me; I’ve talked about the bliss and GlamGlow masks on several occasions before but it’s probably the first time I’ve commented on the other two products. In keeping with "E" being the letter of the week, all these items contain Vitamin E though the Babor Pure mask doesn’t explicitly name it in its ingredients list – the Babor mask contains Jojoba oil and jojoba contains Vitamin E. Smiley Wink

Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Foaming Mask is one of the foaming / bubbling masks that I enjoy. This one has a coral tint to it which makes it easier to apply and to know where the foaming will happen. The foaming starts fairly quickly after application, lasts for maybe 10 minutes, and leaves my skin feeling cleansed and looking fresh and clean.

Babor Skinovage PX Pure Intensive Purifying Mask was one of the very first wash off masks I used. This particular tube is an older version of the mask. It’s a gentle, blue-tinted kaolin clay mask with a creamy texture that does not dry down or make your skin feel tight. I tend to apply a thicker layer to my nose, chin and jawline, the areas where I am prone to oiliness. This one isn’t super great for blackheads, but I do like it for its ability to absorb excess sebum without stripping the skin and leave skin feeling clean.

Purlisse Daily Lip Nourisher with Mango & Shea Butter is a lip balm I need to use it more before giving final thoughts on it. The very first time I used it, it felt like there was some grit to it which lead me to wonder whether this was a lip scrub and balm in one, but that’s not the case. That grittiness hasn’t really been an issue since that first use. The name of the balm is wonderful – lip nourisher. This one is a bit thicker in texture, but I wouldn’t characterize it as creamy nor waxy. Upon contact with the lips, it  starts to feel more emollient and spreads more easily. There’s a subtle scent to this that I can’t place, but I don’t get mango from it. Like I said earlier, I feel like I need to use the balm more before commenting yea or nay on it, which is what I’ll plan to do in August (unless I get distracted by other lip balms – ha!)

I love the coconut scent on the GLAMGLOW - THIRSTYMUD™ Hydrating Treatment Mask – it smells so good! I like to use this mask as a sleeping mask or a moisturizer. Last night I used it as a sleeping mask, which is often how I use this mask. Nights here can tend to be on the cool side and this is a nice one when I need something to help keep my skin hydrated but don't want anything too heavy.

@itsfi I love your use of vitamin E, I've started using my Glamglow products again, and forgot how much I love them 😍

Re: @itsfi I love your use of vitamin E, I've started using m...

Which GlamGlow products are you using again @lmaster? Any particular ones you are loving this time around?

Re: @itsfi I love your use of vitamin E, I've started using m...

Re: @itsfi I love your use of vitamin E, I've started using m...

Niiice @lmaster. ThirstyMud is a "go to" mask of mine. Smells amazing and love how it hydrates my skin! Smiley Happy

Re: @itsfi I love your use of vitamin E, I've started using m...

@itsfi these poor babes were forgotten, but then I reorganized and brought them back to life 😉😍

Re: @itsfi I love your use of vitamin E, I've started using m...

That's a great reminder to go through our collections every so often, @lmaster; to rotate things in and out! I often find masks or other products that I've loved but have been either forgotten or missing when I reorganize. Smiley Happy
