Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi I haven't used a product with cabbage in it either! That should be interesting. 🤔😉

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85, there’s a week for fruits and veggies too! Don’t recall when but I remember seeing it on the schedule. 🍎🍐🍊🍋🍓🍇🍉🍑🥭🍍🥑🥦🌽🥒🥬🥔🥕🍠

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi  It's May 20th! I'll definitely have plenty of masks for that challenge! 🤗

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

That is darn cute packaging!  One of my favorite Pure Smile sheet masks is grape scented.   It’s not the best serum in the world but the scent pleases me so much that it really doesn’t matterSmiley Happy @Shosh85

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@heartsmyface I totally understand! I've used a few masks where the serum/results were kinda "meh," but the scent was just so fantastic and delicious, I'd do it again just to smell it! Haha! 😂😋

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85 gauze!!!! I have only had one gauze mask and it was a ❤️ at first application 😂 Can you tell me where you found this? I think I’ve seen it before but cannot remember where...it’s been awhile (6 months is forever it seems like!).

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe Well, crap – that is a very good question! Haha! ..... I have had this one for awhile. 😂 I know I've seen it on YesStyle and Amazon!

It's not exactly like other gauze masks I've tried though, it has a bit more "puffiness" to it, if that make sense. I kinda liked that though, because it seemed softer than the other gauze ones. I think that's why they call it, "soft embossed."👍

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Ok well I’m going on the hunt for it @Shosh85. The Lucky Cat is OOS, was just going to order more!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe  I noticed that too. I wanted to order a couple more. Apparently a bunch of other people liked as well. 🙃

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Ha ha yes and the piggy is still oos as well @Shosh85!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Catching up with this week’s masking. These goodies were on the masking menu Tuesday night.

The Ole Henriksen Power Bright 3-Step Treatment is one of my favorite peels and one I use a few days before a special event or occasion – step 1 is the Truth Sugar Glow Polish which sloughs away dull dead skin; step 2 is the Truth 25% Vitamin C Concentrate that aims to brighten the complexion; and step 3 is the Pure Truth Melting Cleanser. I first learned of this 3-step peel when I received one of these 3-step treatment cards from @CC3616  (thank you!); I’ve found boxes of these peels at TJ Maxx and Marshalls recently and have picked up a couple of boxes to include in my rotation of peels. I can get 2-3 uses out of one of these cards (the box includes 6 of these cards). The OH peel leaves my skin soft and brighter, and gets an A from me.

BritishM Organics Annatto Hair Oil – BritishM is a Korean brand (wouldn’t have guessed that at all) with three lines. The Annatto Hair Oil is part of the brand's  Organics line and is designed to moisturize dry ends and protect hair from UV damage. It smells very floral-ly; the scent dies down and fades away, but it takes some time to do so; I’d skip it if you are sensitive to scents.  The oil claims to be suitable for all hair types but I disagree. I have fine, straight hair – I have a lot of hair so it seems thicker than it actually is. Hair oils can be tricky for me so I tend to use a very light hand and I rarely ever apply hair oils to my scalp; instead, I just apply it to the ends or to the bottom half of my hair. Despite going easy on the oil, I felt this one weighed my hair down a little. I’ll give this a couple of more tries, but I’m not entirely convinced my hair is best suited for this oil. It seems as if it would work much better on someone with thick hair, coarse hair and/or very dry hair. At the moment, this falls into the “it’s not you, it’s me” camp, but I'll try it again another day.

Primark PS Sleeping Beauty Overnight Nail Mask – who knew there was an overnight mask for nails?! This one I received from @SpaceLlama – thank you! In a very boneheaded move on my part, I discarded the box for this mask containing the instructions. Oops.  So I just winged it and applied the product along my nails and massaging the product around my nail bed and cuticle area before going to sleep. I’m not sure if I saw or felt a huge difference, but I plan to use it more and will report back in a few weeks.

The LANEIGE - Water Sleeping Mask is a favorite of mine; in part, because it was the first sleeping mask I tried, but also because it leaves my skin looking soft and hydrated the next morning. For a time it was the only sleeping mask I used, but with so many great sleeping masks making their way into the market, I incorporate other overnight masks into my evening routine, but this will always be a favorite. An “A” mask for me.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Love the OH PowerBright, @itsfi! You're right- it's such a great mask for some instant brightening for a special occasion!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@quspork, my skin has liked having the OH peel in the routine. I've had to tell myself that I really don't need yet another box when I see them at TJ Maxx / Marshalls. Smiley Happy

I absolutely need hair oil @itsfi my thick curly hair dri...

I absolutely need hair oil @itsfi my thick curly hair dries out so fast,,I literally drench my hair in oil 2-3 times a week and that still isn't enough! lol the olehenriksen mask set looks pretty nice.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi  I picked up a box of the OH cards at TJMaxx or Winners, don't recall which, but I haven't tried them yet.  My skin has been feeling scrubs lately though, so maybe I'll bust this out over the weekend!  Good to know you can get a few more uses out of one card as well!

I love the "it's not you, it's me"!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie OH has two peel sets - one in a blue box and this one in the orange box. I have both, but haven’t tried the blue set... yet. If you have the orange one, start with a small amount. Less is definitely more. 😂 The very first time I used it, I was so excited to try it out that with one of the products, I scooped out more than I needed and my skin screamed “what are you trying to do to me?!!” 😂🤣😂 I adjusted for it and it was so much better. 🙂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi If the blue one is the one I'm thinking of from them it came in a pack of 6X3 foils to use.  The walnut scrub that I'm thinking of in that one was one to be very gentle with.  I used what I had, but found the scrub was too much of a harsh scrub for my skin.  I'll go easy with the orange one for sure!  Thanks for the heads up!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi What a nice variety you have going on there!! I found a bunch of the OH Power Bright and my TJ Maxx as well, and have really enjoyed using them! They definitely do leave you soft and bright! 🙌

The hair oil sounds interesting – though, oil has never worked for my hair. I have thin and straight hair like you, but not a lot of it and oils always make my hair feel heavy and greasy. Sorry you're in the, "it's not you, it's me camp" with this one. P.S: I love that you call it that. 😆❤️😆

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85, I like the idea of hair oils but haven’t had too much luck with with them either; usually too heavy for my hair. We’ll see if I can make this one work...or if it’ll stay in the “it’s not you, it’s me” camp. 😂😂😂 That was the best I could come up with for things that just didn’t work for me but seemed at least conceptually like they’d be good products. LOL! 😆

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Oh @itsfi, don’t you just hate it when you feel all proud of yourself for tossing the box, like you are beating the clutter-and then realize it contains some very valuable information? I’ve learned that a time or two with masks🙄. Everything sounds interesting, the hair oil until you mentioned it weighing down your hair, which I don’t need. I do like cooking with annatto seed, though!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

That is exactly how I felt @eshoe! I tossed it around the time I got the nail mask too, so it’s long gone. 😔 Hopefully I’m using it correctly. 😆

I’m going to have to look up annatto seed. Do you use it for certain dishes? Or is it your go to oil for cooking in general? I’ve never heard of it until this hair oil. I’ll have to try to figure out a way to use it without it weighing down my hair. 🤔🤔
