Spoiler

Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

oh that sounds so nice @itsfi a moisturized glow is beautiful

Re: oh that sounds so nice @itsfi a moisturized glow is beaut...

I was so happy with the results @lmaster! <3

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

The Marigold mask sounds like a winner, @itsfi. I love masks that adhere almost like a second skin. It makes them so much more enjoyable to use.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Agreed @quspork! 😊 I now will look for microfiber sheet masks in addition to the other masks on my list. 😂🤣😂 This list keeps getting longer, quspork! 😝

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

So true, @itsfi - my lists of "masks to try" is longer than a CVS receipt at this point. Smiley LOL

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I love that someone made a gif of this @quspork .. and yes yes yes to the list of masks to try!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

hahaha! Smiley Happy Smiley Happy Smiley Happy I love this gif @quspork

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Oh yay, I’m glad the dermaplaing helped someSmiley Happy. Did it still hurt to remove?  I really enjoy that Lanolips!  I got a duo at Christmas and have only tried the strawberry one.  @itsfi

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

It hurt less @heartsmyface, but the area I tested it on is a more sensitive area so that’s to be expected. I’ll try dermaplaning + boscia peel off again another day on the parts of my face where I normally apply the boscia, but this is an excellent tip! 🤗 I want to get all the Lanolips flavors! 😂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Last night, some floral masking (I am actually kinda missing gross week):

mask3.jpgFresh, Glossier, Beauty Chuck, Jayjun & Omorovicza

Spoiler
After a double cleanse with my favorite Burt’s Bees Cleansing Oil and Botanic Farm Sparkling Pack (very similar to the bliss Triple Oxygenating Facial), and a quick swipe of the Glossier Rose Balm Dotcom (the Birthday Cake is my favorite, in scent and consistency, but I will use this up no problem. A B+), I opened my sample of Omorovicza’s Gold Hydralifting Mask, thanks to a great tip from @veronika23. This is a rose-scented, light pink creamy mask that claims to instantly lift, prolong hydration, and blur the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Sounds like a miracle cream if there ever was one Smiley Very Happy

The scent is definitely rose; it’s a fine line between almost fresh and almost Grandma’s powder-room heart-shaped bar soap that no one uses. I caught a bit of it on and off and despite being a self-professed rose lover, this was a bit much for me. The thing I’ve noticed about this brand is that I either love or hate the scents. Which is a really easy way for me to weed out expensive products Smiley Happy

The mask almost felt like it was drying, but it wasn’t - it was just a tightening effect I was feeling. I was just reading today about a mask that causes physical tightening and it sounded really bizarre. But I am wondering now if it is anything like this one. My face felt a little hot, not quite burning, but weird. When I went to rinse it off (though directions say you can just wipe it off), it looks like my skin was peeling. Which thankfully, it wasn't - it was just the cream. I rinsed with water (the scent was too much for me) and my skin was very, very soft. But not worth the scent, I would give this a B-/C+  due to that factor.

I slipped on the Jayjun Roselle Tea Eye Gel Patches and moved on to the Beauty Chuck I'm Real Gira Mask. I loved and purchased multiples of this one last summer. I haven't used it in awhile (getting rid of a lot of floral masks this week, yay, never thought I'd say that!) so was curious what I would think of it. The mask itself is a pretty thin cotton and fit great.

But the artificial rose/fruit scent hit me and I was so annoyed. Especially just coming out of the rose fog I had just removed from my face, I was in no mood for more scents. It was fine though it didn't fade completely. I removed it after about 15 minutes, of course as with any mask I don't really care for, my skin looked very nice and plump, go figure Smiley Very Happy

Ended with extra hydration from the FRESH - Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask:

A love but probably not a repurchase because the YTTP has my 💗 Smiley Happy

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe It's too bad about the artificial scents – that can be so annoying, especially when a mask has that scent but gives you great results! 🌹

The eye patches sound great! I'm starting to realize I like the JayJun brand! The few things I've tried, I've liked! Glad you liked these! 👍

I get it completely @eshoe there is something that is sup...

I get it completely @eshoe there is something that is super annoying with an artificial scent, some I can handle but this sounds,,,mehhh lol

Re: I get it completely @eshoe there is something that is sup...

Yeah some aren’t terrible but at some point ya just gotta walk away and this was at that point @lmaster 😄

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

That looks like such a nice floral masking session, @eshoe! Too bad the scent wasn't the best on the I'm Real mask.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Ya win some, ya lose some @quspork 😂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe, rose scented products are always hard ones in terms of knowing whether the fragrance will make you think of walking through a lovely rose garden or being stuck in an elevator with someone wearing a bit too much of that cloying rose scent that is all too recognizable. Smiley Wink

btw, I have some "gross" masks I'm happy to send your way if you're kinda missing gross week, eshoe! LOL!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi let me think about that one for a bit😂 I plan to use the other placenta mask I have, *I think*. The horse oil one, it may go in the trash unless someone here REALLY wants to try it😆 So gross. Too gross for me.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hahaha, it has crossed my mind that I am that horrible lady in the elevator that smells strongly of roses!  I love rose perfumes!  @itsfi

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

LOL @heartsmyface! I can't imagine it would ever be you! You're never horrible! I love rose fragrances too, just in moderation. Heehee! Smiley Wink Dare I ask - what are your favorite rose perfumes?

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

My two favorite rose scents are Victor and Rolf dancing roses and the other is a Jill Stuart tuberose body milk.  @itsfi I have others like viva la juicy (which is sweet af) and Stella (a bit sharp on the nose) and Tom Ford Cafe rose (stronger and warmer) but those first two are my go-tosSmiley Happy
