Besides Gross Week, this is one of my favorites. Gonna try to round up a few masks from everyone’s recommendations, because I mask better thanks to you all😉
Started off with the June Jacobs, a brand @snoflakefaerie enjoyed, and I have too. This is the Cranberry Pomegranate Moisture Masque, which is conveniently packed in a 1-Oz squeeze tube. I like to try different masks and hesitate to invest in jars/tubes over a couple of ounces. This is a repurchase and will be another repurchase due to the creamy, fruity clay-like consistency that is another easy-peasy masking for me.
While wearing the wash-off mask, I applied a layer of Sara Happ’s Sweet Clay Mask, a recommendation from @sephoraaddict918. I was a little on the fence about this one, but so glad I decided to try it. It’s like applying a thick layer of liquid lipstick that doesn’t dry down, but looks very much Magda in Something About Mary. It has an almost minty-sweet taste (if you happen to lick it on accident) and never dries down. I usually remove it with a micellar-soaked cotton pad but was lazy tonight and a Kleenex did the job. I’ve used it a number of times and at this point, feel it gives the effect of a slippery lip mask in the sense that it does soften the lips. I don’t think I’ve graded this yet. It’s on the pricey side, but for the amount I use is going to last much longer than the recommended 30 uses. I’m edging towards an A in the time being because it really is an extra treat that makes me feel like I am taking care of myself😊 Then I used a bit of Glossier’s Rose Balm Dotcom, which I picked up while shopping for my Galentine @skcfan (who has great taste!). Though I prefer the Birthday scent (the texture on that one seems better, too), it is always fun to try something new.
Finally I opened the nuca Super Jelly Hydro Mask. Another 2-parter (I should have planned this better; I prefer these for the A.M. so I can drink my coffee) that was very slippery but fit perfectly. I removed the bottom part after about 10 minutes (again) and could have left the top half on all night. I felt like batman😂 The scent was clean, nothing much. Tackiness was light and resolved with moisturizer.
I wanted this one out of the way because I noticed after I bought it that it contains carrageenan, an ingredient I try to keep out of my diet. It was a good mask, decent, a B but not a RP for that reason.
I have tried it @lmaster, but the scent bothered me. Awesome that you found a new HG!🤩
Really? @eshoe I didn't notice a strong scent.. I'll have to pay better attention.
It was a foil, maybe that had something to do with it @lmaster? It was from Beautylish, last summer...maybe the heat affected it in transit. I noticed the Tatcha mist had a similar scent and I think that was also due to heat affecting it in transit. That or it was old stock. I was about to give up on Omorovicza until the cleansing balm, now I want to try more! I have a couple of other foils from the samples they sent me I haven’t tried yet, one is a Vitamin C serum I believe. Very curious about the scent on that one. I know @veronika23 swears by the essence too!
Speaking of @veronika23 where is she?? @eshoe 🤔I feel like it's been awhile
I PM’d her recently to check in and she was good, just busy @lmaster. It has been awhile, hoping life quiets down for her so she can join us again! @veronika23
Ok great @eshoe thanks for the update!
@missjeanie the Neutrogena sheet masks are good. It's convenient that they are pretty accessible - Target, ULTA, the grocery store, etc.
They’re a little slippery but worth it, @missjeanie!
Hi @eshoe
I love the Omorovicza cleanser. It's great for really deep cleaning your pores. Thanks for sharing your hack. I'm really excited about trying it as a mask. <333
Stay Gorgeous,
Penelope
@PenelopeBT I had no idea it helps deep-clean pores, thank you for the info! I’m going to make a closer inspection next time😊
@eshoe So many great recommendations! I'm happy to hear the Neutrogena mask worked for you! I've really liked all the Neutrogena masks, but I think my favorites have been the ones in the pink packages – Radiance Boost and Pink Grapefruit.👍
I like the June Jacobs squeeze pouch design – that seems better to me than scooping it from a jar. 😉 Glad you enjoyed it! It seems June Jacobs makes a lot of great products I need to try! 🤗
Yes I love the Radiance one too, @Shosh85! I think I’ve tried 3 of them now, can’t say I have a favorite they are all good😊
Nice picks, @eshoe! It's always great when someone else's recommendation works out well yourself.
It’s so much easier to buy a mask based off of someone else’s recommendation when you know their masking preferences too, @quspork. Frame of reference is so helpful!
yay sounds like some great recommendations that worked out for you @eshoe
The longer I'm here, the more masks I try are BIC based, @Kim888. At least I know what I'm in for (especially when it's an unusual one) 😉
Hello, thought it would be a great idea to ask here if anyone is using UFO smart mask from Foreo. I really really want it, but the price tag is a bit high...
THis mask stretches and fits well. It is soaked but not dripping in serum which is thin and slippery THEre is a light artificial strawberry scent although it claims to have real strawberry in it. i liked it but am not wowed. A-
