2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! Welcome to the second half of the challenge. Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

To Post:

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

@eshoe that can be a good feeling and a bad 😅

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I love your mask organization @eshoe!!!! I have the same spatula from the Sara Happ Lip Mask, and I have the spatula from the LANEIGE - Mini Pore Waterclay Mask, but I usually use the SEPHORA COLLECTION - Face Mask Applicatorto slather my face with the good stuff.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Ah I have that one @sephoraaddict918 @and I always forget to use it😆!!! Thank you for the reminder, it’s such a great little tool!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe Oh my goodness! I love your spatula collection! – and your mask organization looks wonderful! Both of these pictures are soothing to look at! Haha! 😍

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

It’s a little secret joy of mine to discover a spatula inside a new package @Shosh85 😊

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

😂I also enjoy when they add little extras in any product, be it a spare puff or a spatula.  I find it nice that they cared.  @eshoe

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I completely agree with you @heartsmyface !

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

You said it perfectly @heartsmyface. That little touch speaks volumes.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Well said @Shosh85! Second this! I didn’t think of a spatula collection, but I like it. Makes my spatulas feel extra special! 😆😉

I need to get my hands on a omorovicza but dont want to pay $125 for it! cute collection @eshoe

Re: I need to get my hands on a omorovicza but dont want to p...

Bath & Unwind has some sets on sale right now and 30% off of some sets on the brand’s direct site @sonnydee. I stopped myself a number of times because they keep emailing me to remind me😂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe  that looks awesome.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thanks @emaisgr8😄

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

J” is for Julep and the woman-founded brands theme continued last night with the Julep Triple Quench Deep Hydration Sheet Mask System and the BRIOGEO - Farewell Frizz™ Rosarco Milk Leave-In Conditioning Spray.

IMG_5804.JPG

Spoiler

Julep was founded by Jane Park; if my memory is correct, the brand was purchased by another company so I’m not sure whether it is still woman-owned but it is woman-founded! I’ve used the Julep Triple Quench Deep Hydration Sheet Mask System before and really like it – the sheet mask in this one is a bio-cellulose mask, which I love. It adheres well and as with other bio-cellulose masks, you don’t necessarily feel a lot of essence or hydration while you have the mask on, but after removing the mask, you can feel the extra essence on your face and at least for me, my skin feels more bouncy and hydrated as I press that extra essence onto my skin to help with absorption. My skin continues to look and feel hydrated the next morning and my complexion has a fresh and bright look to it as well. I tend to keep my multi-step sheet mask pack for travel, especially when it’s a quick turnaround. This Julep pack is one of my favorites, an “A” mask for me.  All three products are ones I really like and are very complementary to one another. I would love if all three products could be purchased separately but I think you can only pick these up in this mask pack.

Briogeo (founded by Nancy Twine) makes one of my favorite hair masks so I was excited to try out the Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray. Love that it comes in a spray form. It does a nice job as a detangler and my hair does feel soft and looks smooth when I use this. Would I repurchase? I think so. I would rate it an “A”. I’m really liking this one and the Amika The Wizard Primer so it’s tough to pick one. I have a feeling I may end up with full sizes of each. Ha!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Great @itsfi ! Another A mask! I’ll be using the same Julep Mask that @eshoe sent me when I’ll go visit my parents! Perfect for traveling! ( Thanks in advance eshoe! 🤗 ) I enjoy using leave-in conditioning spray instead of the usual conditioner! I’ll have to try the Briogeo or the Amika one, which one would be better for wavy hair? Do you have an idea? Did you try Devacurl if you have wavy hair? I should have asked what type of hair do you have instead of drilling you with questions! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@keana1, sorry, I won’t be able to help with knowing which product is better for curly hair. ☹️ My hair is stick straight.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Both my mom and sister have straw-like hair ! @itsfi . I inherited my father’s wavy hair!

this sounds like a great mask pack @itsfi glad it worked...

this sounds like a great mask pack @itsfi glad it worked out nicely for you

Re: this sounds like a great mask pack @itsfi glad it worked...

The three parts to the pack are all good @lmaster. I do wish they sold the first and third steps as separate products; maybe that will be future releases. 🤞🏼

Re: this sounds like a great mask pack @itsfi glad it worked...

Oh yes that would be great! @itsfi did you get this mask in facetory?

Re: this sounds like a great mask pack @itsfi glad it worked...

@lmaster, I picked mine up online at Ulta. They may carry it in certain Ulta stores as well.
