2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! Welcome to the second half of the challenge. Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

To Post:

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe I'd be interested to know how these and the PTR ones compare! I'm hoping to try the PTR ones sometime soon – they're just so spendy 😬

2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Starting off my favorites & "k" is of course this lil cutie from The Creme Shop. Yall have seen my stash. 🙄TCS is my favorite & I hunt them down & hoard them🤣 The mask itself was a slight blue color with keroppis & decorations on it. it smelled clean & fresh & today was HOT! so I found it refreshing. I left it on for a good 40 min & could've left it longer but I needed to get in bed (and yes I have left masks on the side of my bed to be discarded in the morning.😉 ) I felt it did as advertised except for exfoliating? how? but my face feels fresh, balanced & hydrated so I can't complain. grade: A & I'm happy that I have more of this lil guy. happy masking yall! side note: only 1 single dk from the peppermint oil last night, so if I use those again. I'll probably use during the summer, after a beach day & skip my moisturizer that night🤷‍♀️

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Keroppi! The best of all the Sanrio characters IMO, haha. Glad the mask worked nicely for you, @sonnydee!

so cute @sonnydee hot huh.... 😋

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

That looks like a fun mask @sonnydee glad you enjoyed.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@sonnydee Glad to hear you liked this one – it sounfmds great! I have it set aside to try this week! 👍

@Shosh85 @itsfi I think you both will really enjoy this one. The serum is on the thicker side & even skipping my moisturizer last night, you would never know. my face feels pretty good this morning. I might have to sneak another kerropi in this week🤗

Re: @Shosh85 @itsfi I think you both will really enjoy this o...

Can't wait to try it out @sonnydee @Shosh85! The ingredients in this one look good and I'm all for a sheet mask that brightens and hydrates the skin! Smiley Happy

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Happy this one was a hit for you @sonnydee but YES how do sheet masks exfoliate?!? I suppose chemical...I wondered the same thing about the Betterskin detox mask I just did; like, how does a bio-cellulose mask detox my skin???

Oh well, hasn’t stopped me from trying more like them😂

maybe it loosens up your dead skin so the next time you w...

maybe it loosens up your dead skin so the next time you wash it comes off them? So, yeah chemical. I dunno. @eshoe but it delivered on everything else. so I'll take it!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Yay @sonnydee! That’s great that the Keroppi sheet mask was a good one for you; 🐸 I have it set aside for later this week. Even more excited about it after reading your review! 😃

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Week 10 - Mar 4 - 10 - J - Female Owned Brands

Another Jumiso that I did on Sunday. This was the Rich-Nourishment one (pink package with the yoga pose) that @Shosh85 and @missjeanie used.

20190310_203130.jpg20190310_203134.jpg

I tossed this in the frig too so I could compare the two Jumiso masks fairly (or at least somewhat fairly). The mask was wet not drenched. I thought it was more wet than the Whoa whoa soothing mask and didn't notice a pool of liquid in the bottom so I didn't dip this one in. Again, I enjoyed the netting so I knew which side was for my face.

My face

Spoiler
20190310_203406.jpg

The fit was the same as the other or it least it had to be pretty similar. I think I had a harder time with folding the extra cuts. I could detect a scent but it was super light and more "general sheet mask" smell to me.

I wore the mask for closer to 40 minutes. The mask was quite dry and there was very little serum to pat in. It did not leave my skin tacky. The results were just okay. I would say my skin was a bit brighter and moisturized but I specifically analyzed my forehead lines and they didn't have the same diminished appearance that Whoa whoa soothing provided.

I decided to cut open the package and there was a bunch of serum stuck on the sides. I used it for my face and neck and hands. The layer was generous and at this point my skin was left slightly tacky. I let it soak for a while and though in hindsight I would have applied moisturizer, it wasn't tacky enough to bother me.

So I think it's an A-. The lack of odd scent was better than the other Jumiso but the not as noticeable results was a downer. I like the netting and the feel of both the masks. Also the fit is pretty spot on for my face. I would be willing to catch all the Jumiso masks to say I've tried them but probably not in my 5-star, best mask ever category.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Great comparison, @ShortErica!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thank you @quspork. I usually only can make time for 1 mask a week so doing two fairly close together was interesting. Sometimes I feel like my memory tricks me so it was neat to be able to have both masks close enough to compare.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

This mask fits your face so well @ShortErica

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ShortErica I liked this mask a lot, but I think I liked the "Water-Splash" one a smidge more than this one. I'm interested how the other masks in this line will perform. Glad this was a good one! 😉👍

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I saw that @Shosh85. Maybe the Water Splash would be a solid "A" for me. I'll have to try it and the other two!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

This mask and the water-splash mask work well for my skin. An "A-" mask is a good mask. Too bad this isn't a 5-star mask for you @ShortErica, but maybe some of the other ones in this line will work out better for you.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

For sure @itsfi! Since @Shosh85 says the Water Splash was a smidge better I am thinking I should find that one next.

yeah I like this brand @ShortErica sorry it wasn't the be...

yeah I like this brand @ShortErica sorry it wasn't the best for you, they do have a few others, hopefully you will find one that best suits you

Re: yeah I like this brand @ShortErica sorry it wasn't the be...

It was still a pretty good mask but just not a favorite @lmaster. Isn't it funny how A- can seem bad when really it's still a good grade?
