ARCHIVE - 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! Please continue posting on the Q4 Thread which can be found here:

Spoiler

Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

To Post:

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I haven’t @lmaster, I’m going by a store tomorrow and hopefully I can get a sample😊

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Oh yes @faeriegirl this is a gem! You don't need much, so start with a little amount while applying, I usually follow it up with a very light moisturizer ( I usually do with any overnight masks)

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

A sample and a "Q" mask! (Also - new survey is up in the OP!)

bkr, Medius, Sara Happ & Laural Plant Organicsbkr, Medius, Sara Happ & Laural Plant Organics

Spoiler

Morning masking started off with a sample of the Laurel Plant Whole Organics Berry Honey Facial Mask. This mask has only five ingredients, all of which are organic: Honey, Royal Jelly, Strawberry, Blueberry & Grapefruit Essential Oil. It looks, feels, and tastes like jam. It’s a little tricky to apply, as it has the sticky consistency of honey. I left it on for 10 minutes, watching for any signs of stinging/tingling. There seemed to be a teeny tiny bit, but it dissipated quickly. There were only a few berry seeds, so it wasn’t overly exfoliating from a physical standpoint. I removed and it appeared that my skin did look somewhat softened. This is a pretty nice mask, considering how simple it is. So simple I think it would be an ideal DIY mask! It’s an A for ingredients and results.

I also used the Sara Happ Sweet Clay Lip Mask prior to the bkr. This jar is supposed to have 30 uses; I think it will go much farther than that! The SOS Water Balm Brightening Mask Quick Hydra Effect has a jelly serum that evenly coated the enclosed mask. It had a single protective mesh layer, which I removed and used as reference to know which side goes on my skin. It’s soft, not the softest, but a comfy mask. It has a faint baby oil scent, it’s very faint but noticeable at times even throughout masking. I left it on about 10 minutes, then had an unexpected errand and had to remove it. It left my skin pretty tacky, more than I like, but would have made a good priming mask. A B+ for this one, good but lots more out there I like better. Still, at least I found a Q 😄

there's just something about the berry mask that looks so...

there's just something about the berry mask that looks so tempting @eshoe

Re: there's just something about the berry mask that looks so...

It was good @lmaster good enough to eat😆

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe Hmmmmm, i am tempted to try masking with strawberry jam now....

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thank you for letting me know I wasn't the only one thinking of doing this @heartsmyface !

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Me too @heartsmyface! How are you?!?!🤗

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe  Bruised, swollen and tired.  I slept better last night than the night before but oh man.  I’m up for painkillers and going back to sleep.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@heartsmyface I hope you're feeling better soon!  Keep resting!!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie  thank you.  Today is supposed to be the worst of it so just gotta get through the next 24hrs.  I look so puffy.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@heartsmyface I'm sure you're a rock star... you got this!  And the puffy will go away.  Get lots of rest.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Oh @heartsmyface 😭 time is probably crawling right now. Hope you are able to sleep most of the day!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

What an inspiring mask for a DIY @eshoe !  It really does look like jam!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Perfect for toast @missjeanie ☺️

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe  The Laurel plant organic mask sounds delicious😊

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

It was beautiful @faeriegirl, I just need to source some Royal Jelly and I will be set to make a batch, ha! I am sure it’s not as easy as that. If I remember, something about the honey acts as a preservative but not all honey has it?

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe Oooh, that Laura Plant Organics mask looks really delicious! ....and with those ingredients?... I'd definitely be taking a lick of that 😋 Haha!

I've seen the SOS mask on Facetory and have been curious about it. It sounds like one of those, "good but not amazing" kind of masks. The Q masks are definitely hard to find!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85 I’m pretty sure I’ve never purposefully ‘tested’ a mask, but really-this is something I put on toast anyways😊

The SOS may be really good in the eyes of the majority, I ordered two and was shorted a mask as they were OOS. Still, for mask comfort, the Laneige takes the cake over this one.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@byme4u Stuff like that is just so hard to resist sometimes! Haha! 😂
