2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! Welcome to the second half of the challenge. Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

To Post:

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I was all-in today.  Tried my Elemis Superfood Veggie mask for the first time, then the Etude House Real Centella Ampoule, followed by the Origins Drink Up Intensive mask.

The Elemis was a solid B.  I've read their claims but I've found better smoothing, better calming, and better moisturizing masks out there. It wasn't a bad little mask. My skin tingled a bit while on. Kind of reminded me a bit of a mud mask, but the mask mostly sunk into the skin. My skin did look refreshed after. Why only use it twice a week though?!  I'm not sure. Refreshed skin- check!

Next up: Etude House 1 drop real Centella ampoule. This little gem is supposed to help calm skin due to the ingredient: centella, made from the plant and used for ages in China and in herbal medicines.  Calm skin- check!

Origins mask- this smells soooooo good!  It's an overnighter and makes my skin soft. Soft skin- check!20190717_012950.jpgC for Centella, calm and chill

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@l8totheparty   Etude House makes some really effective and affordable products.  I’m putting that one on my list of items to hunt down.

Origins products have always just felt generic to me.  Not a bad thing necessarily cause generic is safe but I can’t think of anything that ever wowed me by them.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I've been very curious about Elemis line @l8totheparty , but if it's just average, I have enough of those on hand.  It sounds like the Origins is definitely worth a try though.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@l8totheparty I've heard about a lot of the Elemis products being good but not really anything too special. Sounds like this was pretty decent!

I love that Origins masks! I agree the scent on that is pretty refreshing! 😃

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I've definitely been hearing that about the elemis mask @l8totheparty - I got that in boxy as well so I'll be interested to try it and see how that goes but it seems there's a lot of people who felt like you did - that it's only average

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Two masks at a time again cause I haven’t had much time to hang out lately.

Yeaterdays mask was the Lohas Herbs Fit sheet mask in chamomile.  It smelled lightly floral and almost sweet.  The mask is just so pretty.  It fit well enough cause it’s thin and was comfortable on. My skin was plump and slightly Tacky afterward.  I would do this again.  A-

Tonights mask is the Healing Bird Ultra Moisture Coconut mask.  It’s a medium weight cotton mask that fits well, has a thicker creamy serum and no discernable scent.  It’s mositurizing and leaves my skin bouncy and a little slick.  I like it but it’s nothing special.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Your skin in the second picture is amazing. You have that glass skin look going on! <333

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@PenelopeBT   Aw thank you!  It always looks the best right after a mask!  If only it would stay like that all the time!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

You're skin looks positively radiant after that chamomile one @heartsmyface !

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@mrsmouse   It gave me a pretty nice glowSmiley Happy. If only the effects lasted more than an hour or so.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@heartsmyface agree about the healing bird masks - they are nice but nothing I need to run out and use again

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

The Lohas mask gave you such a beautiful glow @heartsmyface ! How was the Caolion Peace Water mask ? I’ve never seen it before !

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@keana1   Thanks!   Oh I forgot to mention the Caolion!  I got it at Sephora in Prague.  Okay, it smells and feels exactly like Belif Aqua bomb except it has these little dots of cream moisturizer inside.  It’s nice and my skin felt good and lightly hydrated in the morning after using it.  It gets an A but it’s nothing anyone is really missing if it’s not sold here cause Belif makes the same thing.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Your skin is flawless @heartsmyface! That Lohas chamomile mask is so pretty! 💕

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

The Lohas mask is absolutely gorgeous, @heartsmyface

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Ooooh ok besides the cute yellow fuzzy and very pretty peace water, I share your sentiments on the Healing Bird masks. I’ve tried aloe and rose, coconut sounds yummy 🥥

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe   Did the aloe and rose have scents?  I was expecting a scent from this one but nothing.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

No @heartsmyface it was sheet mask scent all around🤷🏻‍♀️

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe   It’s not a bad thing if you’re trying to stay away from added fragrance- just surprising.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@heartsmyface  Ooooh, that Chamomile mask looks beautiful! - and has great results with a nice scent?! Definitely sounds like a winner to me! Glad you enjoyed it! 😃

The Healing Bird mask sounds like something my skin would like - I love the creamy type of serum, plus moisturized and bouncy skin makes it even better! I love that your face is glowing! So pretty! 😊
