@ShortErica Darn! This seems to be happening a lot lately. I haven't had a whole post go missing yet, but I have had comments disappear. 🙁
I went to reference it and couldn't find it. Then I wondered if I just imagined posting. I wonder what else has gone missing @Shosh85 that we just never saw. 🤔
Week 40 - Sept 30 - Oct 6 - N - Sephora Collections Week
I had my Sephora masks pulled and after @itsfi posted about the updating of the clay mask formula I knew I had to test it out. I stole the pic of the first mask from itsfi because mine seems to have disappeared from my phone. Thanks @faeriegirl for sending this sample my way!
Previously I tested the green one but I do have a 2nd sample card so I can try the green, gray, and pink sometime in the future. Yay! I started with the gray mask in the tube first on Friday morning so I could compare the different versions.
My face:
I covered my whole face with the sample. It was a light gray color and pretty smooth. I didn't really get a smell from it. I wore it 15 minutes before washing it off in the shower. This is the type of clay mask that stays moist. You do need to massage your face to remove the mask. My face seemed fine but I didn't see any noticeable difference. I would be curious to try it again and really focus on analyzing my pores (because I was more thorough with my notes and skin comparison with the 2nd one - you'll see what prompted this from the pictures below). Grade: B+. It likely helped with my pores some but I didn't pay enough attention to see differences. I wish it was easier to remove.
Friday night I opted for the gray mask in the sample packet. Boy was I in for a difference.
My face:
First off, this mask had a very noticeable scent as itsfi noted. The mask had some grit and was harder to apply than the gray tube mask. It also is the type of clay mask that dries down and hardens as opposed to the other version. The mask removed easily just putting my face in the shower. My pores were less noticeable and it seemed like the sebaceous filament dots that I do notice were gone, at least temporarily. Grade: B+. Though I like this one more, the scent was quite strong. I preferred the ease of wash off and loved seeing whatever action was going on with my pores. I didn't mind it drying down vs. staying wet.
Today (Saturday) I used the last of the sample tubes - pink!
My face:
I had a harder time applying it to my entire face and probably should have focused on certain spots. It stays wet and I washed it off in the shower. Similar to the gray tube, you do have to massage your skin to get it all off. My skin felt nice and looked brighter. It was fine and I'll give it a B. For clay masks, I think I prefer the pore versions.
It appears the tube masks are the new versions, at least by comparing the ingredients vs. what is on the website
My opinion in general about the Sephora clay masks is I would use them if I had them but probably not buy them. I'm curious if I'll have a change of heart when I try them again or feel the same way. Only time will tell. 😉
@ShortErica I still haven't tried any of these clay masks, because it seems the general consensus is that they're fine, but nothing too impressive/special. It definitely looks like there's some action goin' with your pores in that close-up picture – that seems promising! I'm not a big fan of the masks that dry down so hard they crack, so I usually prefer using those types as spot treatments - because they do seem to to a better job cleaning/drying stuff out! 😉👍
Thanks for your reviews and comparisons on these! Glad they turned out pretty decent for you! 😃
Thanks @Shosh85! I thought it was so crazy one gray one was dry down and then the reformulated one doesn't do that. Big changes despite a similar formula.
Anytime @lmaster. Hopefully you enjoy them. Though I'm not sure if I should have applied them like the picture and targeted certain areas. 🤷♀️
@ShortErica I know this isn't the same thread we were discussing the denman brush but oh girl! I have officially figured it out!! After I was done with the shower, I clipped my hair up, then started taking about 2 inch sections at a time, I would put my styling gel in that section, then brush it through with the denman brush, then continue doing this until you have brushed all your hair, I used a diffuser with cool air for about 10 minutes to get my roots dry... My hair literally had spiral curls all over!! Here is a pic of day 4 hair!!
You're selling me on this brush @lmaster. I'm still going a little crazy cause my hair is curlier and bouncier when wet and almost stretched when it dries. I do air dry though. A little bit about not heating my hair and a little bit, it's the lazy option. 😂
@ShortErica I try to use the coldest setting on my dryer, and it's not hot at all, but I will use it without drying my roots to show you the difference
Interesting. Thanks for experimenting @lmaster!
@ShortErica I feel like that's all I do with my hair 😂
Your hair is so gorgeous, @lmaster! 😍
Thank you so much!! @Shosh85 it's only taken me 38 years to figure this hair out 😂
I don't know if this technically counts as "House Brand," but it's close enough 😉
Moschino + Sephora Honey Mask
This is a medium thickness, bear-faced cotton sheet mask that was saturated with a yummy, sweet honey scented serum. It definitely fit too big - too long at the forehead and chin, not quite wide enough, and the ears were ginormous! Not too long after taking a picture I had to chop the ears off - they were just too big. They wouldn't stay laying on top of my head and kept making the mask peel off my face. After chopping the ears off, the mask adhered well and was pretty comfortable to wear. I removed it after about a half hour. The serum that was leftover absorbed almost immediately. There was a little bit of tackiness, but it went away in about 5 minutes. My face felt soft and smooth and comfortably hydrated.
I think this was a fun one and I really loved the scent! 🍯I'd use again, but wouldn't repurchase, mostly due to the fit and the price.
Thanks, @lmaster! 😃 Definitely fun, but not so sure it's worth the full price 😐
Thank you, @faeriegirl! I feel like the floppy ears make me look more like a dog 🐶😆
