@mrsmouse it was brilliant!! Guess it is true to it's claims because it definitely lifted my under chin 😆
Good to see you @Weetart! ❤️ I've heard good things about the Lancome sheet mask and the Genefique serum; happy to hear it gives you good results; my wallet was pleased that the Lancome mask didn't work out for me when I tried it. 😉
Hey @Weetart , @GalPalVal17 , @l8totheparty (and please tag anyone else you think might be interested), Ulta has the Lancome Genifique Hydrogel Melting mask for buy 2, get one free AND you can apply the current $5 off your purchase of $10 or more coupon code to the order. Basically, you can get 3 masks for $25 (regularly $45), or three boxes for $105 (regularly $165). I just thought I'd share. I'm going to go ahead and grab the 3 masks for $25. I hope they work as well for me as they do for you Weetart! 🙂
I'm super glad you are making time and taking care of you @Weetart ! 🙂 I'm always hesitant to try out masks that have high price points, but maybe if I can find the Lancome on sale I'll pick one up.
I'm happy you are getting back to yourself, @Weetart 😊 And that Lancome looks nice!
@Weetart It's nice that you can start to focus back on yourself and give your skin what it needs. Hopefully you can find alternatives or whats right for you 🙂 I agree on that Lancome masks, I have yet to try it but the cost keeps me from buying it. Would def keep an eye out for discounts, trading or samples of it.
Aww @Weetart I'm sorry life has been rough but glad you are back to taking care with 2 masks a day (go you!). I hope The Ordinary one starts doing something for you. It would be great to have a less expensive substitute. Let us know how it goes after you test it further.
@l8totheparty These both are great! - glad to hear you enjoyed them! Like, @eshoe, I love putting the eye gels in the fridge beforehand- definitely helps with depuffing more. 😉 This is my favorite kind of eye mask - there are so many like the hydrogels that just don't stay put, and I like that these do. 👍
Remind me what your favorite lookatme has been @l8totheparty. Also, I'm a fan of those Skyn eye gels too. I really need to compare the lookatme eye gels I bought to them. Have you tried the lookatme eye gels?
I will try the watermelon tomorrow. Aloe or guacamole perhaps? I can't remember the snail, but I have it. @ShortErica
@ShortErica I've tried the lookatme eye gels cuz I bought a few boxes to share with hunny. We use them in the morning, same with the Skyn ones, and I think I like the Skyn ones more. We notice depuffing with the Skyn more. But for the price, the lookatme ones are good to use regularly.
Sounds reasonable. Gotta get the Skyn during Ulta sales for sure but still a pricier option than the lookatme. @GalPalVal17 any other favorites that live up to the Skyn standard?
Those Skyn Gels are best chilled @l8totheparty! And great for am, they add just a tiny bit of reflective shimmer which is a little brightening, too.
I am pretty sleepy, so this may be slightly incoherent, but I wanted to post about Tuesday's mask so I don't get too far behind. I used the LookatMe Collagen mask with the cute pig on the front. It's a tencel mask. The front says it increases elasticity, though I'm not entirely sure what elastic skin necessarily feels like. 🙂 This too was gifted to me by the super generous @faeriegirl. Thank you!
I felt like it had a clean, somewhat florally type scent. I was surprised that the fit was quite different from the charcoal lookatme mask from the day before. I felt like this one seemed a lot larger overall and the nose bridge was much wider and the philtrum area seemed longer as well, though the mouth hole was pretty small. I wasn't really sure how to cut it, so I mainly just scrunched it down. I get a little nervous doing too much mask surgery once it's already on my face. By the way, fellow mask surgeons, do you usually just add little snips to fold it or do you ever actually cut off pieces of the fabric? Just curious. I've done both.
I kept it on for 25 minutes or so. There was a great deal of extra serum. Even though I had to do a great deal of scrunching to get it on, it did stay put the entire time and was still very moist after removal. There was still a lot of serum remaining on my face and a slight bit of tackiness, but not in a bothersome, sticky way. I felt like the results were very nice. My skin felt very soft and smooth, and it definitely had that glowy type of look for the rest of the day. My skin responds nicely to collagen, so I was definitely happy with the results even though it didn't fit my individual facial features that well. So another good one! 🙂
Great review @PrettyPaint! That little piggie is just so adorable! It's interesting to me how masks in the same line can have different fits. Like you, my 'operations' on a face mask include different types of cuts - I've snipped at parts of a mask to help that section lay better over the contours of my face (i.e., corners at nose, outer corner of eyes). I've also make small incisions to allow me to fold the material over or under (i.e. corner of eyes and mouth); and I've cut off pieces entirely (i.e., extra length at chin and jawline). For the vast majority of sheet masks, I have to do all three (lol) which makes me think that my face shape / features is/are the anti-sheet mask model. Hahaha!
@itsfi I feel the same way about having anti-sheet mask model features. If I want to be able to use my eyes at all during a sheet masking session, 95% of the time I need to do some type of mask surgery. I wrongly assumed that the same line of masks would likely fit the same. I don't know about mask production as much as I wish I did, but I guess I figured they likely used the same mold/machine, but apparently not.
