Have you tried a foaming cleanser @ShortErica ? I just saw one at TJ Maxx today, Lookatme-charcoal bubble foaming for $3.99. I loooove my foaming Yadah cleanser bc it is so gentle yet does some heavy duty cleaning.
@eshoe I've tried a garnier one. @missjeanie sent me the Yadah one that I need to try. Is it just for cleansing or does it remove makeup too? But generally I dont know about bubbles cause I have contacts and sensitive eyes. Plus they always get in my nose and mouth. So far the concept of an oil cleanser followed by a gentle one seems best for me but I'm still finding an oil that truly takes it all off. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
As far as acting as a makeup remover @ShortErica, that I donโt know. I always use an oil first (sometimes micellar water if Iโm feeling really dirty) and then follow up with a cleanser. I wear contacts too, so I feel ya there. I used the Summer Fridayโs R&R last week and got one of the exfoliating granules in my eye. Holy moly, it was awful๐ณ took awhile for my eye to get back to normal.
The Yadah I use is dispensed like the foaming hand soaps-it doesnโt bubble up any more than that. I have another one I use that is a gel and turns into a foam, but that is also very mild. Ive never had an issue with the bubbles going too close to my eyes. Bubbling sheet masks in the other hand, I tend to shy away from those!
Hahaha but also not funny about the granule in your eye. I've done that with other things too @eshoe. The one I have is a gel that will foam. Glad to know it is mild. Okay, I've got to give it a try and see how it does. Hopefully no squeaky clean, just regular clean. ๐
If @missjeanie sent you one already @ShortErica, itโs the perfect opportunity to try. I am just careful with the gel, Iโve never had one go off track like bubbling sheet masks tend to do๐
@eshoe @ShortErica I really enjoyed the EL oil cleanser too! I'd say they're both (the Yadah and EL) are good cleansers, just different. I even like the EL bar facial cleansers. At TJ's prices I'm game, at retail prices EL is out of my spend zone.
@ShortErica Thanks for the review. I haven't tried this one, but it drives me nuts when I can't figure out a scent. I laughed at your husband's "general sheet mask" description. That's interesting that your nose was dry - do you find this happens frequently for you?
@PrettyPaint yeah, sometimes he's helpful. ๐คฃ I would say the center (nose and philtrum areas) are generally what get dry if I wear a mask too long.
@ShortErica I'm happy the results turned out nice for you! It's been so long since I tried this one so I don't remember what the scent was like ..... but now I'm super curious to sniff it again. ๐
PS: I totally was not prepared for what was under that first spoiler ๐ณ haha! ๐
Week 35 - Aug 26 - Sept 1 - I - Favorites Week
One more Yadah jelly mask to complete the trio. Again I was gifted this mask by two terrific maskers @Shosh85 and @missjeanie!
My face:
I felt like I've learned and definitely used this jelly mask the best. The fit was good and I added a little bit to my nose and cheeks. I then wore it for 30 minutes. The scent was very light, kinda clean with a bit of floral. Definitely the level of scent that I'm cool with and doesn't overwhelm or really linger while wearing.
My skin looked nice. I would say it looked even and smooth. Which is kinda weird to say smooth since it didn't make a significant difference in my fine lines but it's the word of thought of while looking at myself after I did the mask. It also had the least tack, though the others only had a slight tack that faded pretty quickly.
I used the mask Friday night but kept the leftover serum for this morning. I used it on my face, neck, hands and arms. The double dose of using the serum was the way too go. Adding it all on the mask is too much. For reference (cause I don't remember if I included it), the brightening didn't seem to have as much extra so I only used it on my neck and arms post-mask as opposed to saving it.
Grade: A. Ranking the jelly ones: 1) Brightening, 2) Soothing, 3) Revitalizing. I'll be curious if I feel the same after using them multiple times. I'm loving this masking thing and figuring out what works for me. ๐
Wonderful reviewing of the jelly masks, @ShortErica ! I love the masking, too. Terrific you are finding what works for you. I have found two I love, both moisture masks. With so many I've yet to try, I can't commit to any, other than the two which have been part of my regimen for years.
Hahaha. I guess that's good and bad news for me @byme4u. Good that I will still get to have fun testing for years and bad that even after years of trying it will be hard to determine ones to commit to. ๐
I decided to pick out a new one this weekend in lieu of using the Jelly to copy cat you... I should have used the jelly @ShortErica lol. I'm glad they all worked out for you and you're having fun with your masking!
Oh no @missjeanie. That doesn't seem to bode well for this unknown mask. You can still do a jelly this week! ๐
I'm excited to do a jelly this week @ShortErica ! The crappy mask review was just posted. I can't even say why it was so crappy other than the film after. It just was. J week I'm excited for! I have a new jelly for sure, and am going to go through and pull some J's like I was doing before summer so I have a mini pile to pull from easily!
Hopefully masks this week are better @missjeanie. I'll go see what this mask was now. ๐
Sounds like a good plan @lmaster
This one looks excellent! I have one of these tucked away. @ShortErica
Isn't it nice to find what we like? I love this skincare journey. And if I can be pointed in the direction of great products along the way, it will save me money in the long run weeding out the duds.
