@ShortErica I honestly have no idea! I'm not really huge into the aloe. I certainly don't mind it, but I prefer masks to be hydrating or brightening. Aloe to me is more soothing, so I don't gravitate towards it, but I will say it'll be nice to have should I have a sunscreen (or lack of) incident or crazy windburn!
@missjeanie I agree about aloe. I've been really diligent about sunscreen so haven't needed to soothe my skin. Yet I bought a 2nd pack of the Yadah aloe and the Holika Holika aloe. I'll learn one day. I'll use them (and before expiration) but I should make smarter purchases. More the plumping and hydrating ones I think. Or stuff with niacinamide to even out redness.
I think doing the challenge so full on the first half of the year really helped me to figure out what I'm hoping to get out of a mask @ShortErica ! And everyone here helped me figure out what I should be looking for and using when. I'm just now starting to see how overboard I went with all the 10 packs lol! I'm going to need to be making smarter mask purchases the next year or so I think!
For the last night of “H” week, I started out with one of my Heavily-scented enzymatic cleansers and moved on to the Heimish PH 5.5 Low pH Hydrating Mask Sheet sent to me by the very lovely @Kim888.
The Eve Lom cleanser is another one I’ve forgotten about; I was thinking about it this afternoon and decided to go with it. Cloves galore, a wonderful balmy cleanser but not one I would recommend if scents are bothersome. I left it one much longer than the recommended 2-3 minutes and rinsed with a cleansing towel. I learned a lesson today re: masking and drains.
Clay masks clog drains. That is why a bowl with warm water is best for removing, afterwards tossing the water outside. That, or using cleansing clothes. The clay settles, even if you run the water for 10 minutes after rinsing. Clay = bad for the pipes.
Finally, the Heimish PH 5.5 Low pH Hydrating Mask Sheet sent to me by @Kim888. When she reviewed this, I immediately did some research on pH and skin, and was a little disturbed at how bad tap water can be. I understand now why some use only bottled water, although I’m not game enough to go that far. But it really made me want a water softener. We did buy shower head filters shortly after, but months later, can’t say whether or not it has helped.
When I found this nestled in the masks she recently sent me, I let out a little squeal I was so excited to try it. So upon opening, found a single protective layer. I had some preconceptions in mind - a medium cotton mask, drippy essence, no scent, no tack. When I pulled the mask from the sheet I was surprised to see how lightweight and yet soft and comforting it was. It was like a blend of the Merbliss Guaze, Oozoo Honey capsule and Laneige Water mask all rolled into one silky-smooth, thin blend. If you’ve ever had the perfect tissue-weight tee, this is the sheet mask equivalent.
I did not detect a scent. The fit was amazing and although the mouth area was exaggeratingly large, it was much more welcome than a mask I have to snip and tug to fit properly. When I firstsaw the actual mask, it appeared that the serum was milky, when in fact it was clear. The mask itself gave the appearance of opacity, which added to the appeal as it made it seem richer than I expected.
I left this one on a solid 40 minutes before reluctantly removing. In the meantime, I did a search to find out where I could order this mask. The tack that remains is barely-there, as are any visible results. My skin appears nearly the same, yet feels incredibly rejuvenated. An absolutely lovely mask, thank you so much Kim888! An A+++++ 😄
Ingredients:
Sounds like the Heimish mask is a winner, @eshoe!
You DO need to try this one, @lmaster. It's absolutely lovely!
@eshoe thanks for the tip on the clay masks. I usually just wash them off as per the directions not thinking anything about the drains. But I have been thinking of getting a make up eraser to try out for removing the clay masks. Maybe i'll get to those sooner than later.
I researched it a bit and clay is really bad for the pipes, @GalPalVal17. I like to do them a couple of times a week, but now it’s likely to be once every week or two.
It is one of the better ones I’ve tried, @emaisgr8.
I am slowly building a list of staple masks, @l8totheparty, and this is definitely one of them.
@eshoe Oh wow, that looks like an amazing sheet mask. I've definitely never seen one like that before, but it sounds so comfortable. Did you find a good place to purchase it online?
@PrettyPaint @makeitup305 yep yes style seems like the best bet to me, too! Thanks for the sleuthing, makeitup305:)
@eshoe I've ordered from them a couple of times and haven't had any issues. I added the masks to my loves list for the next time
Thank you @makeitup305 they have so many great masks, my cart is full I just haven’t done it yet. Thank you for the stamp of approval 😉👍🏼
@PrettyPaint It's on yesstyle at $12 for 5. Not bad at all!
Thanks a bunch @makeitup305. That's a really good price!
