Just checking in with an update on my daily masking and some initial thoughts on the new SEPHORA COLLECTION Keep on Masking Face Mask Holder
I’ve been using the A’Pieu Hyaluthione Soonsoo Daily Mask every day this week, primarily in the morning. So far, so good. One of the great things about using these daily masks is that it takes the guess work out of picking a mask in the morning. It's almost beginning to be automatic for me to reach for these in the mornings. Planning on taking some sheets (and the tweezer / tongs) with me in a separate ziploc bag for when I'm out of town.
This morning, I decided to pair it with the Sephora Collection Keep On Masking Face Mask Holder, a light purple-hued silicone face mask holder that helps to keep your sheet mask in place. This one is pretty cute, with one side (the side meant to face outward) being glittery. Mask holders like these include ear loops to help secure the mask in place. In my experience with other mask holders of this type, the design of the mask and the ear loops are such that it smooshes my face and hurts my ears. So, as you can imagine, I was a little apprehensive about this one, but to my great surprise, this one wore extremely comfortably – no smooshing of the face and the ear loops fit comfortably around my ears – they did not pull or hurt. The holes for the eye and mouth area are also wide enough to make it very comfy. This seems like it will also be a good mask holder for sheet masks that are more challenging to stay on – I’m specifically thinking about the slippery hydrogel masks and the Glow Recipe watermelon mask in particular. I think I have another one of those and will give be reaching for it soon to give it a try with this Sephora mask holder. That’ll be the true test for this mask holder but as far as regular cotton masks are concerned, the A’Pieu daily mask is doing great and this Sephora mask holder has proven itself to be a winner for me. So much so that I think I’m going to pick up a few more, as a backup as well as to gift.
Tagging @PenelopeBT - this is good! The fit and wear on this one is converting me into someone who will use a silicone mask holder - props to the team who designed this mask holder! 🙂
I can't wait to hear how the mask holder "holds up" to the hydrogels, @itsfi!
@quspork, I may put this mask holder to the test this coming week and use it as my “mask hack”! 😃
@itsfi I had never known there was such a thing! It sounds Iike it would be perfect for those two piece hydrogels - I'd especially like to see how it does with the BioBelle hydrogels! So happy to hear it's working out well so far! 😃
Oooh, good idea @Shosh85!💡 I have a few BioBelle hydrogel masks I wanted to use this coming week. Will pair it with this one. 😊
@itsfi ooo, I am going to have to check out that mask holder. Glad your daily masking is going well!
Thank you @annahoang! I'm happy with these A'Pieu daily sheet masks; will be interesting to see what sort of results I get, if any, after a month of use.
The mask holder is the nicest, most comfortable one of its kind that I've tried so far. I know that Nurse Jaime put one out around the same time as (or maybe it was before) this one from the Sephora Collection. I haven't tried that one; not sure if I will. This one wears so comfortably.
@itsfi so glad you are loving your mask holder! Thanks for the info on your morning masks as well
@lmaster, I'm super surprised how much I enjoyed this mask holder. I've tried a handful and this is the only one that I've found not to hurt to have on - always a plus! lol! 🙂
I'll probably have to get 1 of these. You know I'm all about the multi-tasking-masking! 🤗@itsfi thanks for including it in your review!
Love multi-tasking masking @sonnydee! 🙂 And I love the phrase you coined!
So good to hear your update on the daily masking. Glad to hear that the mask holder was comfy for you @itsfi
@emaisgr8, I'll try to post an update every 7-10 days. It's a good reminder to look into how it's working out with these daily sheet masks. 🙂
@itsfi that Sephora silicone sheet was in and out of my basket countless times. Going to pick it up now, thank you for the review. I know I can trust you. Btw my daughter is currently mesmerized with John Legend’s “Pitera” ode to SK-II😆
I didn't even know John Legend had a new song out, let alone that it was an ode to SK-II?! Ha! Just looked it up on YT. LOVE #PiteraMasterclass! Your daughter is on top of it @eshoe! But we already knew that! 😉
I was surprised by the face mask holder. I thought it'd be like the other ones I tried and I was dreading trying it out but it's a nice one - wears so comfortably, as is often the case when my face is not smooshed every which way and my ears don't hurt from the ear loops. hahaha! Let us know what you think of it.
Ha it’s pretty good isn’t it @itsfi? Now she wants fancy water too 💧but that will have to wait quite a few years. Bought the mask, excited to try it. I was waffling between that and Nurse Jamie. I’ve seen others as well but never decided on one. Looking forward to it!
A is for Argan Oil
NEOGEN Argan Oil Essential Mask
This is a thin cotton sheet that had plenty of serum with a pleasant scent that was sort of hard to describe - fruity/citrusy with something else that I can't quite pinpoint. I guess I'd call it a fruity/citrus scent with a side of a fresh and clean/floral? It had a great fit - just a smidge too long at the chin. It adhered very well and was super comfortable to wear the 30 minutes I had it on. When I removed it there was quite a bit of serum leftover that was pretty tacky. The tackiness gradually absorbed on its own after about a half hour. (If you really hate tack, you probably wouldn't like this one) The super dry skin I started out with felt so soothed, refreshed and completely hydrated. My face felt soft, looked slightly brighter and had a very nice glow.
It's unfortunate that it has Alcohol Denat so high up in the ingredients - otherwise I'd definitely use these up fast and repurchase more because they'd make great primer masks. I'm hoping that by finding these at TJ Maxx it could mean they're reformulating a new version without alcohol....wishful thinking, I suppose.
I picked up a few of these and was so disappointed in myself for not checking the ingredients first, @Shosh85. I know better 😄
@quspork The results were great! I just wish the alcohol wasn't stopping from using it more! ☹️
@Shosh85 the papaya and orange really grab my attention too 😒 lucky you 😆
