2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! Welcome to the second half of the challenge. Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

To Post:

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: that kinda looks ewwww @l8totheparty hmmmmmmm pretty darn...

You know how you can do that with white glue between your fingers? It was weird!  But it sunk in and provided a similar tackiness to many masks I've tried.  @lmaster

Re: that kinda looks ewwww @l8totheparty hmmmmmmm pretty darn...

Very interesting!! @l8totheparty glad to hear it worked out well!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

That looks like a nice sleeping mask, @l8totheparty

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

My skin feels so plump from all the masks recently,  @quspork, and the backs of my hands feel so soft as well (I've been putting the excess serum on my hands).

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi @ShortErica  @Kim888 @Shosh85

My skin felt moisturized and non-irritated/reactive in the morning.  So...like a regular moisturizer?  But I noticed, like with many of the sheet masks, some tackiness left over in the morning.  Hence why it says to wash it off in the morning.  But...doesn't everyone wash their face in the morning anyways? It's dimethicone free, so I like that quality about the overnight mask.  I'm hesitant to jump on a rating, but it will be in my rotation when my skin feels the need for more moisture overnight.  Or maybe I will test it out for a while and see if anything changes.  For $7.99 Can, you can't go wrong on nabbing it if you see it. And with the snail secretions. It will need time to work.  A box of masks will cost you the same.  This will last a lot longer than a box of masks. Maybe I like it more than I know.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I wash my face in the morning but I bet not everyone does @l8totheparty. We have a more skincare aware crowd here than the average consumer.

That price isn't bad at all. But I'm still preferring sheet masks to wash off ones so I'd debate buying it. Maybe the PTR kit and Origins @faeriegirl sent me will make me love wash offs and have a change of heart. Can't wait to test them out after I get through my Yadah week. Smiley Wink

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

There's Yadah in tubes and @itsfi mentions a toner! 🤯

I should probably just Google Yadah so I'm not surprised.

I'm curious how this works @l8totheparty - let us know what you think!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

They have their own website - yadahcosmetics dot com. @ShortErica

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Now I'll know what to search for at Marshall's/TJ Maxx and hope is there. Thanks @itsfi!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

This is a staple in my cleansing routine @ShortErica. Very gentle and the bottle lasts and lasts. Unscented, too.

yadahcleanser.jpg

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I'm going to need a basket just dedicated to Yadah stuff @eshoe! 😂

Do you use it as a gentle cleanser or to remove makeup?

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

As a gentle cleanser @ShortErica. I use micellar water then cleansing oil to remove makeup. Then I cleanse with this or a few others I have 😆 But this gets used the most because it’s so easy and gentle.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Okay. This would be worth a shot. I use the CeraVe Hydrating cleanser as my gentle one. Nice and affordable but as my coworker says about project ideas, "I'm not married to it." What other gentle cleansers do you use @eshoe?

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@ShortErica what I reach for most often is the Yadah because it never strips my skin. For cream cleanser I like KORRES - Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser it does leave my skin quite (squeaky) clean, but the scent is amazing. Next I cycle through a few cleansing balms, they are great for my dry skin. FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm

and Elemis Rose Cleansing Balm are my current favorites 👍🏼💗

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Me too @ShortErica! If I get lucky enough to find them at Marshall’s I’m stocking up!😂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

hmmm very intriguing @l8totheparty can't wait to see how it went when you update us!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

There’s a corresponding toner to this one @l8totheparty. It’s popped up a couple of times at the TJ Maxx near me. Will be interested to hear your results from this overnight mask.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@l8totheparty This sounds interesting! I'll be curious to hear how your skin looks by morning! 😃😉

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I also have news to report for my FARMACY - Coconut Gel Sheet Mask - Hydrating that I got in my ipsy Glam Bag. First impression: wow, this thing is WET. Like, sopping wet all over the place when I pulled it out of the packet. I made a mess all over myself and sink trying to unpeel it and get it on my face, lol. I don’t think I’m a fan of the blue protective sheet cover thingies... I struggled for a long time trying to pull the second one off once the mask was actually on my face. But it smells good, and I don’t mind all the extra liquidy goodness being in the packet because I can just use the excess later!

I appreciate that the sheerness of this mask also makes me look less serial-killer-ish. And it seems to stick to my skin a lot better than other masks I’ve used. No surprises about any of this honestly because I love and trust Farmacy as a brand with my whole heart. Silly looking kissy pic for giggles:

Only bad thing about this mask so far is the eyeholes, which annoy me on pretty much any sheet mask I use. I find it really hard to center them in a way that isn’t slipping down my eyebrows, poking me in the eye, or putting me in danger of getting any liquid in the corners of my eyes. I don’t know if this is just a me problem or a “sheet masks just suck at making efficient eyeholes” thing in general.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Adorable pic and I love the mask too, @HunterKathleen! Bio-cellulose is my favorite masking material, it just feels so smooth and comfy.
