Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

To Post:

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Red lipstick is a must for a superhero @Alphaboo!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

You know it!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I loved reading your description @Alphaboo. And what fun to look like a super hero! 🙂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thanks! I had such fun with the masking session I wanted to share the playfulness here too.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I feel that looking like a superhero is a great reason to give a mask an A+ @Alphaboo . You’ve sold me on it!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Some masking benefits go farther than skin deep...

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I apologize ahead of time guys, but this review is definitely not in line with the week's theme! 😂I am just now getting my things settled in KC and I don't even know which boxes I put half of my stuff in. Sooo... yeeeaaaa...

BUT, I did have my ipsy glam bag plus box on hand from last month! So I thought, why not try out the GLAMGLOW - BUBBLESHEET™ Oxygenating Deep Cleanse Mask?

I have tried a bubble mask before (but it was not in a sheet mask format) and I wasn't a huge fan. So I was curious to see if I would like this experience any better.

The product claims "... to reveal glowing, deeply purified skin in just three minutes... instantly invigorates, detoxifies, and removes face makeup."

The instructions read...

"- Unfold mask

- Dampen face

- Place onto the face, aligning with the eyes, nose, and mouth areas

- Smooth all around the face

- The oxygenating microbubbles will start to form within 60 seconds

- Leave on for approximately 3 minutes

- Remove mask and gently massage face with remaining cleansing bubbles

- Rinse clean with water"

I followed the instructions and put the mask on. The first thing I noticed was that it definitely did not fit my face right (although this is somewhat normal for me because my face is like miniature). The eye holes were too small while every other part of the mask was waaaaaay too big! But ok, sure, I'm a trooper. I always try things at least once.

A few minutes in to the experience, the mask began bubbling quite a bit and started smelling like fruity root beer. Yes, you read that right. Fruity. Root. Beer. I didn't mind it much because I love root beer... although the fruity component was a bit odd. But for those who are sensitive to smells, it may be irritating.

As I mentioned earlier, the eye holes in this mask seemed pretty small. So... as the mask bubbled more and more, I could see (and feel, quite frankly) the little reflective bloops inching closer and closer. Thankfully, when my timer hit 3 minutes, the bubbles had not made contact with my eye YET. YET. Buuut... super close call.

When I removed the mask it was a bit annoying to have to simultaneously fight back eye bubble attackers, run to the trash can across the room, not shed face bubbles all over the place on the way, and prevent the mask from dripping on the floor. But, I made it. Maybe I did the removal process horribly wrong in some way but it seems like it should not have been that difficult. I returned to the sink and could not wash the bubbles off quickly enough. They had become super annoying and did not come off in just a few easy swipes. I swear I spent at least 15 min in front of the sink just washing bubbles off of my face. You would think bubbles would just -poof- when water hits them. Yea, nope.

Once that task was finished and everything was washed off, I did notice that my skin felt clean and refreshed. However, the benefits were not SUPER unique or impressive. I feel like I could get the same level of clean with an easy charcoal face wash and skip the annoying bubble business.

But... that could just be me. As I said earlier, I am not a huge bubble mask fan to begin with. Some people may find the experience to be fun and different! Not I... I just get irked and twitchy.

Also... at the price point of $27 for a 3-pack... no thank you.

My skin DID benefit and the product DID deep clean like it said it would. But something about my personality and bubbles just doesn't mix.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

No need to be on theme @SchylarR. Your review is so thorough and helpful. That's a unique scent. And that price point seems very ouch to me. Very cool you were able to try it through Ipsy though. 🙂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Agreed! If I had actually bought the masks, I would be a bit more annoyed. The price seems crazy. 😵 @ShortErica

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@SchylarR, hey girly! So good to see you back! Yaaay! 🙂 No apologies are necessary; we love our masks and we love hearing about them, whether they're on or off the week's theme. Bubbles getting too close to my eyes is one of major reasons for my steering clear of most, if not all, bubble sheet masks. The fruity root beer scent though makes me curious about this one though. lol.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hahaha!!! Yes, the scent was... different. 😊I'm excited to be back!!! @itsfi

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@SchylarR so glad to see you back on the thread again!

Yeah I can't say I know anyone who grabs a bubbling sheet mask and says 'YES. I need bubbles in my eyes and in my nose and forging my hairline today!' I pass on them in general but they are fun to try at least once. Maybe twice if you're more adventurous 😄

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hahahaha!!! 🤣Best description of bubble masks ever!!! @eshoe

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@SchylarR, thanks for sharing amidst the unpacking!  I guess the bubbles were just expressing what you are feeling with so much to do!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Oh my gosh YES!!! 😆Completely lol! @byme4u

I love these suckers @SchylarR luckily I kept receiving them in sub boxes so I have not bought any, at that price, I probably wouldn't, everybody has different likes, sorry it didn't work out for you

Re: I love these suckers @SchylarR luckily I kept receiving t...

I'm glad you like them though! 😊I feel like bubble masks could be a really fun experience for a lot of people. 🤗 @lmaster

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@SchylarR  Bubbles near eyeballs are a nope for me. I got one of these in a subscription box but I think I may pass it on to someone with less sensitive skin and eyes that don’t freak out as easily as mine do. Thanks for the heads up! 👍

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

No prob! 😊Yes, sensitive skin and eyes would probably not like this mask. @PinkEvergreen

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@SchylarR  Oh dear, eye bubble attackers? That's intense! 🙂  I don't believe I've tried a bubble mask before, and I'm not totally sure I will. I think I could possibly handle a bubble mask in a tube where I could have control over placement, but the sheet mask version sounds a little bit anxiety-provoking to me!!!!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Yes, for sure!!! The other bubble mask that I had tried before was in a tube and it still wasn't my favorite but it was definitely a lot easier to control!!! Less eye bubble attackers. 😉 @PrettyPaint
