2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! Welcome to the second half of the challenge. Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

To Post:

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Wow this is a great spreadsheet, @m3rc3d3s! I started out using a notebook and writing in it the old-fashioned way Smiley Wink I was on product overload and needed to see everything in one place. It was SO helpful to get a handle on what I had that needed to be used up.

Nice work!!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

A spreadsheet for all your products is a great idea @m3rc3d3s! I've only done it for sheet masks - it was so helpful for me when I started out with sheet masks to know which ones my skin liked. Smiley Happy

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Ambitious @m3rc3d3s. I love the idea!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I have a spreadsheet on ingredients in products cross referenced with skin reactions (if any) to pinpoint allergens or reactive products. I should start one for masks- thanks for this format, I love it!  @m3rc3d3s

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I love the headings on your spreadsheet!  I started off using one but then got lazy... Maybe after seeing this I'll have the drive to start back up again @m3rc3d3s !

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Nice spreadsheet @m3rc3d3s

looks very organized @m3rc3d3s

looks very organized @m3rc3d3s

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@m3rc3d3s,  I like how you kept the brands together, quicker to locate a specific product.   I do a similar spreadsheet for all the teas, coffee & cocoa, I've used in my

Keurig.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@m3rc3d3s  whoa, so dedicated!   I’m interested in seeing the results after an extended period .

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

That looks awesome @m3rc3d3s!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@m3rc3d3s Looks wonderful!

Depending on how quickly you use products, I found that having purchase date, or even just year can help you know which products you might want to focus on before they expire. Just a suggestion if that would help you! Smiley Happy

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

X is for x-cellent!

Spoiler
Woooahh! I didn’t have the highest expectations for the A.H.C. Hydra Soother Mask when I first pulled the mask out of the pack – it’s on the thicker side, is all around larger (a lot larger) than my face and the features, particularly the eye holes, require a little more adjustment than I’ve grown accustomed to. I can usually overlook all these less than perfect aspects to the mask if the results are good and lemmme tell ya, for me, the results are GOOOOD. I used this last night (30 minutes on); there was some extra essence to the mask but it absorbed easily into my skin and I didn’t really experience any tackiness which was nice. What I did experience was my skin feeling moisturized and hydrated. I went to bed and this morning, my skin feels so soft and it looks fresh and supple; there’s a nice bounce to it. I’ll be picking up a couple more of this mask and I’m not even going to wait until after my sheet mask no-buy/low-buy time is up; it’s going to be one of my exceptions that I gave myself room for during this no/low buy period.  @Shosh85, I previously listed some of my favorite hydrating masks. Gonna have to revise that list to add this one to it. Smiley Wink

I paired the sheet mask with the LANEIGE - Eye Sleeping Mask,  which isn't bad; adds some extra hydration to the under eye area. Then I ended with the KIEHL'S SINCE 1851 - Kiehl's Lip Balm #1 , a tried and true balm for soft and moisturized lips and another X entry with the medical term for dry lips, xerocheilia.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi woah this mask sounds beautiful! Thanks for sharing, it looks like one I need to look into for wintertime Smiley Happy

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

This sounds great @itsfi!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

It was lovely @divaknits! So glad I used it when I did. It worked wonderfully! Smiley Happy

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hmmmmmm.... @itsfi looks like it's another to add to my list!  The itsfi seal of approval means my skin would love this one!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Awwww, that's so kind of you to say @missjeanie! My skin loooooved this mask. Smiley Happy

My list can't seem to stop growing! I think I may need to go through the list and group it into categories and/or whittle it down a bit like I do with my list of sheet masks that  I have gone through. So many lists. hahaha!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi  that mask sounds wonderful. I’ll have to add it to my list to look out for. 👀

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@emaisgr8, this one has made me so intrigued with others in the line. I picked up a couple of different ones when I initially purchased this one, so I may be using them sooner than I had planned on.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi Oooh, yay! So happy you loved the Hydra Mask! It really sounds wonderful, especially if you're willing to break your low/no-buy! I made an exception for myself too, but for Frudia, and now thanks to @missjeanie theres only one thing I'll be looking for! I'll definitely be adding this Hydra Mask to my list of future purchases! 😃👍

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

hahaha! Yep, @Shosh85, but I didn't think I'd be delving into my exceptions to my mask no/low buy territory until a little later into it, like next month. Smiley Wink  I have 4 more exceptions that I allotted myself and I am hoping to not have to use one for a while. I was surprised by this one, in the best way. I have a few others from this brand and this line so I may just have to pull them from the bin sooner than I had planned. Smiley Happy
