2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! We have outgrown the original thread started by the wonderful @Aaliaa and are beginning another masking journey. Many thanks to her and excited you are here. ***Half-Year Update will be posted this week***

To post:

Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@heartsmyface so true! If I don't wake up some morning I'm totally using one of the Kina Cosmetics masks @eshoe sent me this week cause there is an "X" shape on the package with the pill..hahaha

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Well @heartsmyface, I hope you didn't keep the sheet mask on for longer than the recommended time ... what with the irritation you might experience with prolonged exposure to it. lol.Smiley Wink  What a strange warning!!

How did you end up tidying your mask collection? I'm intrigued. With your reorg and efforts to get through some snubbed masks, I think your masks get two x's - x-amined and x-communicated from your stash.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi  I organized them by fruity/veggie packaging , brightening/whitening, florals, moisture/hylauronic acid, snail masks, collagen, honey, egg,  detoxifying/clarifying,foiled, milk/yogurt/cream, and bubble masks.  Then I have a separate bin for lip, smile lines, nose, under eyes, hand and foot masks (and one lingering butt mask)

A lot of them fit  in more than one category but I just chose what seemed to be the more prominent category and went with that for sorting purposes.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi I'm curious too! @heartsmyface how were they organized before they got messy and what type of organization are you doing now?

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Oh my to that warning, @heartsmyface . How crazy! But yay for re-organizing the stash!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@heartsmyface I've seen some strange things on these mask packages, but that's definitely a new one!

I have to agree the Boscia mask is a bit drying and could definitely see it working better for people with a more oily skin type.😃

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@heartsmyface  Uhhhhhh where do they think we’re using this mask??? 😂😂😂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@PinkEvergreen I had to check😩  i have my limits.  I won’t.  5F205BAB-CF12-4E64-AA7E-B7D1F9B13605.jpeg

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Wow... Nope nope nope 😂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Wow! The B00b mask was fun, but this is definitely a NO!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

They even called it "two lips" 😳🤔 ....... Ya know, I'm pretty easy going and there's not a lot I won't try at least once...... but this?... that's a big fat nope! 😬

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85 With good reason.  Who wants to risk messing with their ph balance?  Some thing are better left alone.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hmmmmmm @quspork you are right about that one. No thank you @heartsmyface Smiley Very Happy

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

😳😳😳 That looks like an infection just waiting to happen, @heartsmyface .

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@quspork That was my first thought.  Don’t mess with your ph balance!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Wait. What? Weird @heartsmyface .

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@divaknits  hahaha, i don’t know what they think people will be doing with these masks.  Sometimes it’s easy to tell something got lost in translation and to figure out what they meant to say, but it’s not so obvious here that they meant to convey something else.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Say what indeed! @heartsmyface

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I had to do a double take after seeing the front of that nohj package as a thumbnail in the feed. And suddenly the UTI warning makes more sense 🤔😮😂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@RGbrown 😂🤣😂🤣 i saw it too, but was trying to contain my inner ten year old.  Like why? I have so many questions. 😂🤣😂🤣

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

My first X mask for Monday night

I started off with the Leaders Amino Moisture Mask from @ShortErica !  This mask had no scent to it and was a more 'mesh' like fabric.  The mask fit nicely with no adjustments needed and there was plenty of leftover serum.  I did my nightly skincare routine right after having this on for about a half hour.  My skin felt soft and there was no tackiness after I took it off ( I only waited about 5 minutes after removing to go in with my routine). I didn't take a super good look in the mirror, but I must say that my skin was well hydrated/moisturized this morning when I woke up.  I'd use this mask again easily, it fit well, had no scent, no tackiness, and I left the mask hydrated.  This would be an easy one to pick up if I happened upon it. Thanks so much for sending this my way @ShortErica !

I followed up using the last of my Shiseido Ibuki sleeping mask.  This was a deluxe size sample that lasted me quite some time for the size.  I found that I only ever needed the smallest amount of product and it really did leave my skin feeling much more moisturized than it would be with only moisturizer.  I'd recommend this mask to anyone looking at it.

IMG_3195.jpgHow are these X masks??? The ingredients are not written in the English alphabet so I' thinking there must be a X in there? I did pick these out in the morning!
