@faeriegirl All these masks have been pretty great so far! 😃
@itsfi Yeah, the package designs are great aren't they? Definitely makes you hungry... this one made me especially hungry for a smoothie 😉
Last one from last week for the DIY fun, at least as DIY as I get when it comes to skincare...
I decided to break open one of the dehydrated mask tabs that the lovely @eshoe sent me and try it with of my favorite products, Erborian's Ginseng Milk.
This went pretty well even if it was a bit of a trial and error! I ended up using some Fresh Rose Toner as well because it was taking forever for the mask to absorb the serum and I was getting impatient! I will say that those little masks need much more liquid than I had originally thought they might, as @ShortErica noted with her experiment using one of these. It's really amazing how much serum goes into one sheet mask when you think about it! I love the Erborian Ginseng Milk as a hydrating toner/serum that helps plump my skin and even out my skin tone. So I'd been dying to try it with one of the mask tabs to see how it worked and I did end up liking it as a mask. Wore it for a good 20 - 30 minutes and my skin felt lovely after taking it off. That said- I am an impatient person and definitely prefer being able to just tear into a mask and throw it on instead of waiting and waiting and adding more serum and waiting for my mask to be ready for me, haha. So an A for the experience, but I'm glad that mask makers exist to do this for us!
@quspork This sounds great! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I haven't done a DIY mask like this yet, mostly because I'm impatient too! 😉
I can tell I’m new because I’ve never heard of a dehydrated mask tab. I’m afraid I’m a little bit too impatient myself @quspork .
@quspork I bought those dehydrated mask “tablets” on Amazon and have found the perfect use for them: the leftover serum after using a SATURDAY SKIN - Spotlight Brightening Mask!
I absolutely love the serum in that sheet mask but the amount in the sachet is so excessive that it seems wasteful to just add it to my skin after removing the mask. It’s just way too much. I’ve heard of people having dedicated jars to capture the remaining serum since it’s so good, but I’m going to seal up the sachet and then drop in a dehydrated mask the next night instead, so I can get a second full sheet mask out of it 😊
Glad to hear you have a good use for them, @PinkEvergreen!
I was surprised at how much serum they soak up as well @quspork ! I only tried what I'd call a few simple DIY's last week and it was more work than I'm willing to put in for sure.
I am with ya @quspork! It was fun to try, but wow that’s a lot of serum and I would prefer it already drenched and ready to wear😉
Yes, I definitely appreciate the experience and getting to play around with it, @eshoe but I'm just too lazy to make that work all the time!
@quspork did you measure how much serum you used? I'm also curious how long you let it set in your serum. I'm 100% with you on appreciating sheet masks more now.
@ShortErica I didn't measure mostly because I had to keep adding more serum. It was definitely several tablespoons worth though. It took about an hour for it to get fully soaked, but probably would have taken less time if I had filled the bowl to start with.
Wow, that's a bit. Assuming a tablespoon is ~15ml that seems more than is in a ready to go sheet mask. Very interesting @quspork
Granted the one I was using was milky so perhaps a little bit thicker than some others and thus maybe harder to absorb? But yeah, I'm assuming sheet mask manufacturers are just far more efficient than little ol' me! 😂 @ShortErica
I get so exited that I have a new Marshalls close to me now, that I'm probably going to purchase any mask that doesn't have alcohol... That being said.... I'm warning all of you of this mask 🤪 I know many are sensitive to scent...omg! I've NEVER used a mask that has a scent so strong as this one. It wants to be floral/fruity but it majorly failed. It's terrible, the scent truly ruins this mask, just tooooooo much fragrance!! Good Golly Molly!!! You know it has to be strong for me to seriously be warning all of you, pass on this one if you see it, or use at your own risk! Make sure you have nose plugs.
@lmaster Yikes! If the scent was too strong for you, I'm pretty positive it'd be too strong for me! Sorry this one wasn't too enjoyable!
Yuck! Can’t deal with a stinky mask @lmaster . Scent is part of the experience for me. Enjoy Marshall’s!
@divaknits yes, exactly have to have a decent scent at least 🙄 thank you!
