Hello lovely masking mavens! Please continue posting on the Q4 Thread which can be found here:

Spoiler

Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

To Post:

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

This was amazing on my dry skin @eshoe ! Thank you so much for sending it my way! I don’t generally mind tackyness so I’ll be grabbing a few more of these down the road without hesitation!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Awesome @missjeanie! I had a blue and a silver one, they are fun but that blue one is so pretty to look at. I found them on mask sheets, they were running a sale 1/2 off boxes. Wish I would have picked up more lol

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie They really do make some great masks and the foil ones are probably the best ones I've tried! Glad to hear you loved it! 😃👍

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85  Such a great mask! I have another pulled as a possibility this week too!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie Who is it from?! Dang you Sephora for removing the tag. The "ever so generous" could be lots of maskers.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Dang it @ShortErica ... it was from @eshoe !!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Gotta love an A+ mask, @missjeanie!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Sounds divine @missjeanie. Glad it worked for you.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

It's been a beautiful night of masking @divaknits . Would highly recommend both of these masks!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I got quite off track at the end of last week/beginning of this week with both masking and posting.  Life got busy.

The team from Sara Happ reached out and asked if I'd like to try their Sweet Clay lip mask and I of course jumped at the chance.  I tried out the Dew Care Pure to the Pore with Volcanic Ash as well as the Dr. Jart Vital Hydra Solution after taking horrible care of my skin last weekend and needing some major hydration/moisture.

Spoiler
The SH lip mask was interesting.  Let me preface this by saying that I haven't used a large variety of lip masks.  I'm pretty limited to a couple jelly like lip shaped hydrogel ish masks, the Bite masks and the berry leneige.  I wasn't really prepared for the clay factor in this mask.  I put way too much on in my opinion and ended up with some in my mouth on my teeth.  It has the same consistency as a clay mask the doesn't dry down, so it felt a bit thick on my lips.  I left it on for about a half hour and then wiped off.  I'm not sure what this was meant to do, or if it did anything.  I've tried it another time since and put much less product on.  It felt a lot bette doing a thin layer, but I think this may be the type of mask that you need to do more frequently to get results.  I also don't have majorly dry lips to start off with.  First impressions are that I prefer the richer gel type masks that I can slather on for hydration, but I'm keeping an open mind.
The  I dew care pure to the pore cleansing. volcanism ash clay mask was a surprise love.  I tried the bubbling mask from this brand and found that it was great on the entertainment factor, but lacked results.  This mask was much more to my liking.  Despite being a clay mask this one had more of a gel like texture when applying and then dried down (not a hard dry down) to a clay like feeling.  I left it on for about a half hour and found that my pores did look much clearer after using so I'm going to say that it does cleanse nicely.  I'll likely get another 3 maybe 4 uses out of this size (10g) which I consider a good amount of uses for the size.
The Dr. Jart was an attempt at recovering some scaly dry skin on my forehead.  I had a busy weekend and ended up spending the night at a friends unexpectedly.  I was left without any real skincare (get your act together Shawna... you should be with skincare at all times).  This was after a day wearing a ball cap, sweating, and working.  I think the ball cap rubbing on my forehead (I don't often wear them) combined with the night of no moisturizer let me extra dry.  I thought this mask might help, but honestly... I'm not sure it did much, and it certainly didn't do enough.  I did feel a light sting when I first put the mask on which I'm going to attribute to the alcohol content.  This did go away after a few seconds.  I wonder if my skin was just too far gone for this mask.  I ended up having to slather on some sleeping masks over my moisturizer and I think I'm just about back to a normal hydration level for me when I'm masking.  I've found the masking so often during the week is really helping to alleviate my dry skin. I'll use up the rest of these that I have, but I won't be purchasing again.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

This was my first Dr. Jart+ mask, @missjeanie, and I was equally unimpressed. I expected a lot more with the 'hydra' in the title, silly me! Thankfully there are others from the brand I have enjoyed much more.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Same @eshoe , I picked this one to use specifically expecting a good dose of hydration/moisture!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie  I’m a big Dr Jart fan but none of the masks in this series have done much for me, either. I’m not repurchasing any of them, especially considering that I can get stellar results for $2 with a Missha mask.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Right @PinkEvergreen ! Too many better options to spend the $$ on mediocre.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie Sorry the Dr. Jart mask was unimpressive - I've heard that about some of these before, so I haven't tried any yet.

Now this one at least can stop tempting me ast Nordstrom Rack 😃😉

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85 It wasn't bad, but I'm sure you could find two masks for the price of these ones that would work out better for you.  I'm glad I tried it since I do love the brand, but I'm good now. lol

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie, too bad the Dr. Jart didn't give you the hydration you were looking for. One of my favorite masks from him and I discovered it thanks to the wonderful  @yankeefaithful is the DR. JART+ - Sheet Masks - Water Replenishing- it's really good. 🙂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I have a few others from the brand to try out, I'll have to see if this is one of them @itsfi .  I do love most of their products so I was surprised to not love this one.  Ya know... it's probably just safer that I put the Water Replenishing on my loves list now in case I forget to check.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie, the other Dr. Jart mask I like is the V7 Toning mask. Not sure why it has toning in it (the V7 makes sense as it contains 7 vitamins) - I find that mask to be excellent for brightening! 🙂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Loved as of 7 seconds ago @itsfi !  I'll take all the vitamins I can get lol

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie, I mean, the V7 mask isn't as tasty as vitamin gummies, but it sure does add some radiance to the skin. 😉
