It was fun to try @sonnydee ! I have another bubbling mask to try still yet. This one was pretty cool for selfies though!
It was fun to try for sure @lmaster ! I'm glad I gave it a shot!
@missjeanie The honey mask looks and sounds good! Marshall's had two of them but both were opened. I did sniff it though and thought it smelled kind of like canola oil. It definitely would've perfect if it had that honey scent! I'm glad it worked well! 🍯
@Shosh85 I'm so thankful that my stores use the plastic boxes so much! It's so disheartening to see things opened and laying around. Don't even get me started of when I see people putting the make up on!!
@missjeanie My stores use those boxes too, just not on these! 😕🤔 It's so rude that people use things in-store! I kinda feel like if the makeup/product isn't intended to be a tester and someone uses it, it's technically stealing. 😠
I agree @Shosh85 , they're technically taking something and making it unsellable. It's so frustrating for those of us who'd like to buy things too!
Interesting texture on the Holika Holika honey sleeping mask @missjeanie. Always fun to try new masks. I feel like I may have this mask; will have to look in my bin. Do you think the sleeping mask would work well as a daytime moisturizer?
@itsfi I bet it would work nicely during the day! It really was such a different texture, so hard to explain, but so interesting. I really liked it!
Too bad the Holika Holika was just good and not great @missjeanie. The brand set pretty high standards for itself so you bad it didn't live up to them. What's your top 3 overnight? And what's the worst one you've done?
I feel like if it had a honey scent to it it would have been great! But this was also just the first use so I'll need to try it again a few times. That's an excellent question, I'll have to think about what my top 3, bottom 3 are @ShortErica
The honey mask sounds great @missjeanie ❤️🍯
It was really nice @faeriegirl . I think if it had a honey scent to it, I would have rated it a lot higher... just needs that scent to push it over the edge!
Week 21 - May 20 - 26 - U - Fruits and Veggies
So I planned to treat my face between my two sports activities. The first is outside and the second is inside so I thought cucumber (big shout out to @Shosh85 for sending these to me) would be nice and soothing.
I went ahead and started with the GLAMGLOW - SUPERTONER ™ Exfoliating Acid Solution Tonerto give it a 2nd try. (tagging @quspork) Again, it was a whoa, I feel you. It did fade but then reappeared.
So I went immediately to the eye patches. There were mesh dividers which was convenient. I placed the first one on my under eye area and put the second back in the serum while I got it in position. Then I got the 2nd one out and noticed after I removed the mesh it seemed much thicker than the first.
Just the eye mask:
Then I went for the face mask. By this time by skin wasn't feeling the toner which was a bit quicker recovery than the first time where I kept feeling my face tingle/have maybe a bit of heat until I put on the sheet mask. To my surprise (read ShortErica read!), this was not a full sheet mask but slices to put on your face or body. Who would have known, not like it says "SLICE" in big, bold letters on the package or anything. Whoops! So I placed them the best I could around my face.
My face:
I wore these about 25 minutes. Around 20 minutes I took the ones off of my chin because they were quite dry. The ones on the eye mask and forehead were still moist. My skin looked okay but my forehead was quite red, I'm thinking from the toner. My face was covered in tinted sunscreen from my morning frisbee and did not look red when I cleaned it with micellar water and the CeraVe hydrating cleanser.
The eye mask had some extra serum that I placed near my eyes. The masks were also still moist when I removed them. The cucumber mask package had some extra serum too. I applied it to my face, neck, and hands. I have maybe a slight tackiness on my checks and chin now that the serum has absorbed.
I don't know about this kind of mask. It was fun looking at @lmaster's face with all of her gems (or tattoos if you are @cianni - your comment cracked me up - could you imagine her as Mike Tyson?!). But back to grading the mask, I felt bad for the areas of skin that did not have a mask on them because these were slices. I think the slices also surprised me because I didn't read that or just assumed, hey cucumbers are sliced and this is a normal sheet mask.
My skin looked fine but nothing stood out. I'm debating whether some slices drying at different times is a good or bad thing. I know sometimes it stinks when a sheet mask is dry in certain areas but you want to leave it on because other parts still have serum. So it was convenient to take off the chin slices without messing with the rest. But again, not getting all of my face was frustrating. I'll go with C+. Looked like good ingredients but it could only be applied to part of the face and no wow results.
The eye mask is probably an A-. It was a solid mask but the two different thicknesses really confused me. It isn't Skyn Iceland for me but it did it's job.
Lastly, the Glamglow is scaring me less since the feeling didn't last as long. Once every couple weeks then maybe once every week is how I may use it. And I will do it when I plan to mask so I have ingredients to soothe my face after the chemical exfoliation.
My final comment is about scent. I have no idea if either the eye mask or slices smelled like another. I put them in the refrigerator so they were cool but didn't make a point to smell them or the package with serum. The Glamglow toner has an anise (licorice) type scent to me and that was what I could detect while wearing everything.
@ShortErica, the cucumber masks sound like they would be cool and refreshing on a warm day, especially coming straight out of the fridge. I like the concept of the slice masks and think they'd be a great way to cool down other parts of the body, like the neck, legs, arms, etc., in the summer after a day in the sun.
I'm glad to hear the toner tingled for a shorter time with this use, @ShortErica. I'm definitely looking forward to hearing more about your adventures with it. I think you have a great idea about using it on the days you're masking to help lesson the drying out!
I didn't notice a difference in results @byme4u but the thicker one was more moist than the other when I removed it. It helped but I still had some fine lines showing. I would be interested to try another one to do more research.
I love the slice masks for the funsies. I actually find the strawberry ones to fit nicely on my nose and chin.... and I happened to take a couple photos last night.
