@eshoe How have you been doing with the DE Passioni? I kinda gave up after forgetting to take it traveling for a week last month. I sort of decided to take a bit of a break from trying and maybe get back into it next month.
@missjeanie I took a break from it for a week as well, just got started again this week. So I don't put it on my temples at all anymore, because it caused tenderness even after diluting (still doing about 50/50 with the La La). So the texture bit concerned me, but I chalked it up to some sort of 'purging' process, or the skin looking worse before getting better. It did get slightly better, from far, if that makes sense. My skin also started looking shinier than normal - which I read can happen. I felt like while my skin looked taut/more smoothed from a distance, up close, it actually seemed to add texture.
I hear you @eshoe I think that my texture was getting a bit worse, so I want to take a bit of a break to see if it was one off or not as well. Good luck with starting back again!
@naturalooks15 wondering if you have noticed increased texture as well over the long-term, like @missjeanie and I🤔
@eshoe @missjeanie I have not noticed increased texture. Rather the opposite (some unexplained bumps disappeared).
@eshoe To you point I will check if I see increased texture up close but from far my skin is radiant. Though I am continuing with 3-4 days gap and not increasing frequency.
I also added squalane oil to my routine and liking it. Will report back when I have bit more time on hand.
Thank you @naturalooks15. I’ve set it aside for awhile to see if my skin returns to normal. Will keep checking in though @missjeanie
@eshoe @When you say texture? Do you mean bigger pores/pores becoming more prominent & visible? Or is it wired growth.
Asking because I had that kind of reaction to Sunday Riley Good Genes (pores started looking so big like I was looking at 5X mirror when I was just looking at my plain mirror). After 4th night I was very concerned and just stopped it.
At first my pores did appear somewhat smaller @naturalooks15. But as I continued using it, while my pores themselves seemed smaller, it looked like the skin around them was becoming raised. So it was definitely not smoothing my skin. It was most noticeable on my forehead. I’ve taken a break from it for awhile to see if my skin returns to normal.
@naturalooks15 @eshoe for me it was more growths than my pores. My dermatologist told me at one point what they're called, they can look a bit like a tiny pimple, but they're clogged pores I believe. She did tell me that a retinol (or retinoid, I never remember which is which) should help with them and I was on a prescription strength creme. When I got the DE AP I stopped using my prescription and started using the DE. I set aside the DE AP like eshoe and am giving it a few weeks using only my DE TLC as an active at night. I haven't seen a ton of improvement this way, but I haven't seen anything new pop up either. I'll give it a few more weeks then start up slowly again. I may have been too aggressive with using the AP too often?
@missjeanie, I have a box of the Murad from a TJ Maxx run a few months back; I like the results you got from it (hello hydration!) and look forward to trying it out to see how it fares with continual use.
@itsfithe amount of hydration from the sheet mask portion was certainly unexpected and welcome! Even without feeling as though I got a major peel in, its still a winner for the hydration alone. I hope you end up liking them, I'll look forward to seeing your review as well!
Ohhh, that sounds wonderful @missjeanie! I don’t know if my skin has ever gotten too much hydration! 💦😂
@missjeanie I agree with you on the Bliss – not sure if it has any amazing results, but the fun texture feels nice and gives you a nice refreshed feeling! There are so many other masks from this line to choose from, it's so hard to decide which to buy next, they all sound good!
Yes, exactly this @Shosh85 ! For the price per use, I don't mind that it's not making me look like a supermodel, I think there was a mint one that I might like next!
@byme4uI have another one that's got the swab/mask combo as well, after trying the murad with no crazy adverse peel effects I'm more anxious to try it as well!
They were nice @faeriegirl , both very different, but still nice to have on hand!
M is for Mimiang Mayu 😉🦓
Mimiang Animal Mayu Wrinkle Sheet Mask
This is a thin cotton sheet mask and has what looks like a Zebra design on it. This is what confuses me – on the other masks from this line, the name of the animal depicted on the mask is what is written in the title, but this says Mayu, not Zebra. I've found a few different definitions of mayu and the only one that makes sense for this mask is that it is another word for horse oil – surprisingly this mask has horse fat in the ingredients, sort of half way down. I didn't think I owned a mask with horse fat! Haha! In case you're interested here are the other definitions I found for the word Mayu:
a Japanese feminine given name.
a super cute, pretty, smart, and humorous japanese girl who is no question the best person the world
Black mayu is basically burnt garlic oil, cooking the garlic in oil until it turns black.
It has a fresh and clean, almost soapy kind of smell to it, but it was pretty light and not too noticeable once the mask was on. It had a perfect fit and also had pre-cut slits at the chin and ears for better customization. I kept the mask on for about 35 minutes and when I removed it there was a little serum left that was slightly tacky – but absorbed pretty quickly. My face was maybe just a tad brighter, but the best thing about this mask is the hydration! My face stayed comfortable and hydrated for a long time and also had a very nice glow. This claims to help with wrinkles – I don't have many actual wrinkles, but it didn't seem to do anything for my fine lines either. This was a fun mask and my first horse fat experience and I really enjoyed it! This one gets an A!

I’m surprised at how far down on the eyelids it goes, @Shosh85 - the markings really help make it noticeable. It appears to adhere to your lids, not sure if that was the case, but nice either way that it was a decently hydrating mask!
@eshoe I do prefer it to be a little higher up, closer to the brows, but it doesn't quite touch the actual eye lids – just right above them. I don't think I could handle it if it covered my eye lids! It definitely had great adherence though! 😉
Love that this mask was so hydrating @Shosh85! And ohhh, your first horse fat mask! You’re always a great sport and you look adorbs in the mask!
