I'm on the tail end of my skin's post-professional peel recovery process, so I feel ya @missjeanie! ๐ It's all about hydration, hydration and, wait for it... hydration!!! If anything, this post-peel recovery time is really showing me which products, including masks, work wonders for parched skin! Using DE Lippe Balm as an eye balm is a brilliant idea missjeanie and I'm so going to do that when I get home.
Great masking @missjeanie! Iโm so glad your skin is feeling better. Iโve never used the DE lippe on my eyes but Iโm definitely gonna try itโค๏ธ
I really think the Lippe shines as an eye balm/moisturizer @faeriegirl ! I'd encourage anyone with dry skin to try it for sure!
Yes yes yes @missjeanie - the serum in the Lapcos is amazing, the delivery is lacking a bit๐ I would like to put that serum on a lightweight cotton mask and see what happens!
The oil really was great @eshoe , I'd consider it again for the oil alone. I liked that the mask was a two piece, I think if it was a one piece it would have been a real fail on the part of the fabric, the two piece factor saved it!
I found when I use it that I remove the bottom after about 10 minutes or so @missjeanie.
I always forget to mention that, but it makes it much more tolerable!
@missjeanie Sounds like a great skincare round-up!! Happy to hear your skin is doing better now! ๐
I have that Erno Laszlo Cleansing Oil and still haven't used it yet โ thanks for the reminder! I'm glad you like it! ๐
I love that DE Lippie! I like to put it on my under eyes that seem to get drier than the rest of my face and it is so soothing! Good to know I'm not only one who uses it on their face too! ๐
@Shosh85I've loved the DE Lippe for undereye! I'm glad that I know I'm not the only one now either! And I don't have a ton of experience with cleansing oils, but I do love the EL one!
Ugh, I'm sorry these have been discontinued @sonnydee! ๐ It's such a bummer when you find a good product that works wonders on your skin, only to discover the brand no longer makes it. Hope you find a good replacement. I like the CosRx acne patches and the PEACE OUT - Acne Healing Dots.
Thank you for the pics of those Skyn dots @sonnydee. Iโve had a few in sets but have always passed them on (but my curiosity has remained). Doesnโt look too intimidating ๐
@sonnydee I hate it when you fall in love with a product and it gets discontinued! I never got to try the Algae one.
I haven't tried those Skyn dots but they look exactly like the PTR ones, including the different sizes. I don't remember how well they did, but from what I do remember, the PO ones were a little better. ๐ I'll be interested in your final thoughts on these! ๐
@sonnydee... oh man... it's always a bummer when you finally fall for a product and they discontinue it or change it. I'll cross my fingers the new ones are just as good!
Thatโs a bummer they discontinued the one you love @sonnydee โน๏ธ I havenโt tried those dots or the peace out ones will you let me know what you think of them?
Will do! Probably will put it in random thoughts in the next few days...@faeriegirl I've tried this one & the rose. The rose was meh...algae was great. I have others & love sleeping masks when I feel lazy so you'll be seeing them
For Thursdayโs masking (Iโve been slacking on posting ugh, spring gets so busy for me at home!!), I used the Soo Beautรฉ 3-Step Translucent Home Peeling Kit (with 9% Lactic Acid), rosebud salve (not quite on theme but I Love it nonetheless), and three samples with the hopes that would inspire me to purchase the full size: Drunk Elephant LaLa Retro (am I the only one who hadnโt tried it? Probably), Caudalie Vinoperfect Serum (this is available in my local stores as a 100pt perk so I figured it I liked it I would grab a couple while they were in stock), and the Sunday Riley AutoCorrect (which contains Lutein, which is an ingredient to help protect the skin from UV rays).
First off, I LOVED the previous Soo Beautรฉ 3-piece mask set I used earlier in the challenge, so I had high hopes for this one. Full disclaimer - I only used 2 of the steps. The third step has alcohol listed as an ingredient and the higher than usual strength of the LA in the other steps were too much for my skin, and I didnโt want to add alcohol to it. I kept the packet in case Iโm inclined to use it later.
The first step was an exfoliating round โgloveโ that had a light floral scent and raised โbumpsโ for physical exfoliation. As per the instructions, I used it on my face gently for 2-3 minutes, then let it sit on my face for about 4 minutes before using the next step. It was a little abrasive to be honest, and definitely needed a lighter touch. There was no burning or uncomfortable feeling, but a little bit of tingling.
The second step is a sheet mask that is designed to soothe the skin. Itโs very very thin, but I actually like it. The fit is pretty good, my only complaint is that all the holes are rectangular so I had to make adjustments to the eyes. It was a lovely light floral scent with very watery serum, but once it was on the face I didnโt have issues with dripping or slipping off. It said to leave it for 15-20 minutes, I left it on about 35. I could have gone longer and it wasnโt dry, but more sensitive areas of my face were starting to get a little irritated, which I attribute to the stronger concentration of AHA. I thought I could work my way up, but I think Iโm going to stay at my current 5% because thatโs working for me right now. There was no tackiness but excess serum on my face that I tapped in. I used my MB rosewater and aloe spray to calm my face for a few minutes and the redness resided. I would personally give this set a B- because I couldnโt even use the third step and the irritation, but for someone who has better tolerance for AHAs I think this would be a better rating, probably a B+.
I liked the Sunday Riley actually, this is something I will probably repurchase when I run out of day eye cream. The only thing I was silly about was using it at night - the benefits are clearly for daytime ๐. I did notice some minor superficial depuffing, but to be fair Iโm not terribly concerned with puffiness. I didnโt notice any difference with dark circles or fine lines, but those are results that I wouldnโt at all expect to see in one use anyways. I like the idea of the lutein, and will definitely check to see if other products have that ingredient because the benefits are so interesting. Almost like UV protection thatโs more permanent, unlike SPF that needs to be reapplied.
The same goes for the Caudalie. I like the brand, I like the ingredients. I couldnโt tell if it does anything on a single use. The serum is lightweight and absorbed quickly, it didnโt irritate me and itโs non-comedogenic, so Iโm not worried for my pores. I liked it enough that Iโd be willing to to get a DS and potentially a FS to see if I can get some of the longer term use benefits, specifically the even skin tone and brightening.
The LaLa retro was honestly just okay for me. Obviously it did a fabulous job of hydrating - I can seee why so many people love it. But for me, I donโt know if I love it enough for the price tag. My skin constantly is changing what it needs, so I need to have a variety of moisturizing products on deck. This for me would be best when my skin is a little irritated or dry, but I really do love my FAB ultra repair for that, and I really canโt beat the price. I have other samples of this so maybe Iโll circle back to it in the worst part of winter when it would be most beneficial.
@cianni that is very true, and I did not try that at all
