2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! We have finally outgrown the original thread started by the wonderful @Aaliaa and are beginning another masking journey. Many, many thanks to her and excited you are here. Posting/original thread:

Posting: Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

The peach and pear will be great to have, @itsfi - the peach color will match so many masks๐Ÿ˜‰ I am really, really excited. Now I need to get to work in the ones I have ha ha!

@SpaceLlama how do you like the peas here? Iโ€™m most curious how easily it dispenses, too๐Ÿค”

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe @itsfi I love the new lip balm. Here's a picture of the packaging. It's pretty much like gloss packaging. It's creamier and glossier than the lip mask and is quite moisturizing and lasts a while. My fave part is the peach smell and taste tbh. It tastes like peach candy or juice ๐Ÿ˜ IMG_20190315_124807.jpg

Leaders Kalahari Melon Moisturizing Mask

This is a bio cellulose mask that was drenched with serum and was sandwiched between two mesh dividers. It had a very light and refreshing smell that is kinda hard to describe โ€“ maybe clean and fresh with a hint of floral, but it wasn't noticeable at all while the mask was on. It had an almost perfect fit โ€“ just a tiny bit long at the chin. It had a slight cool feeling the entire time I had it on, about 25 minutes. When I removed it, my face had a very rejuvenated and "awake" kind of feel. My skin was a little tacky, but it went away on its own after awhile. My face felt soft and smooth, but not as moisturized as I'd hoped. I didn't feel dry at all and it didn't make me want to run to put moisturizer on โ€“ it just didn't have that comfortable hydrated/moisturized feel. I'm wondering if maybe I left it on for too long though โ€“ the suggested wear time is 20-25 and I did 25, but it did feel a little too dry when I peeled it off. So for this time around I'd give it a B/B+ grade, but I'd like to try it again sometime and take it off sooner to see if I get different results.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

sounds like the results were pretty nice @Shosh85  - too bad about the early dry down though I hate when that happens

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Kim888 Normally, I try to pay close attention to the mask/face, how wet or dry it is. I've definitely been lucky with masks lately and have been able to keep them on for at least 30 minutes. I think I just got too use to that, plus when you have two kiddos distracting you, time just slips a away a bit. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‚

I also find that the one I used dried rather quickly @Sho...

Re: I also find that the one I used dried rather quickly @Sho...

@lmaster I've used two different masks from the same line and the other one was able to stay on longer. I have another I'm going to try and I'll see how long that one stays on my face ๐Ÿ˜‰

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

The mask sounds and looks so good @Shosh85; bummer that it was a little dry by the end of your masking time. I've found with this particular line of Leaders masks that it works better if I keep to 20 minutes and if I lightly massage the essence from the mask all over my skin while the mask is still on.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi Yeah, I'm guessing I should've stopped at 20. I did forget I was wearing it for a moment. ๐Ÿ˜‚ but I also did the blueberry one from this same line and wore it for a half hour, so it seems like the timing might be inconsistent with these. It could also be that my skin was just more thirsty this time around. I think I'll be trying the blueberry one again soon and see how long I wear it this time. Still a pretty decent mask! ๐Ÿ˜‰
