ARCHIVE - 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! Please continue posting on the Q4 Thread which can be found here:

Spoiler

Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

To Post:

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

They are so beautiful @missjeanie but seriously I cannot do $5 a night for eye masks๐Ÿ˜‚

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe oooo I have the omorovicza mask and have not tried it yet. Sounds pretty decent. Booooo for alcohol, but the gold is super pretty ๐Ÿ˜ you are the best! Very thoughtful and caring to put all the effort into all this on a daily basis,, thanks so much ๐Ÿ˜˜

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Yeah I am thinking true Silver Saviour is great @lmaster, I could feel it working. Another time!

Awww youโ€™re welcome, this place is like my little online sanctuary ๐Ÿ˜‚ I really ๐Ÿ’— your ability to make masking fun with your positive outlook on everything here:)

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thanks so much for all YOU do for this tread and all of us @eshoe !  I had a hard time answering this weeks survey question!  I'm super curious to see the results!

Sounds like some interesting masking you had yesterday.  I was all in on the goldschlager mask, the packaging, the pretty gold flakes, but I completely see why it wouldn't be a repurchase.  I'll bet the APassioni is making your skin much more sensitive while getting accustomed to it.   It'll be interesting to see if you re-try some of these masks after and how you'd rate them again.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

It's such a good question, @missjeanie!

I think I'm going to take it easy on trying any new masks (ahem at least I will try) for awhile. Or be more diligent about reading labels, it gets me every time when I don't.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe  I think Iโ€™d have enjoyed my Econ classes a lot more of you were the prof! Lol

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@missjeanie or if the class was all about beauty๐Ÿ˜„

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I actually decided to go back to school about two years ago and get my Associates Degree in Accounting.  I left the hospitality world managing food and beverage for massive convention centers and hotels.  I decided I wanted to shift my life to something with a 9-5 where I wasn't panicking about work outside of work... I honestly thought about going to school to become a medical esthetician because of how much I love the world of beauty.  In the end accounting won due to a natural skill level and job security, but the worry of loosing beauty as a hobby was a big part of that as well. I wish every class I took/take could be beauty related! I'd never fall asleep in a prof. @eshoe lecture!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

I find it interesting so many here have business backgrounds @missjeanie! I finished my degree a couple of years ago (business) and would LOVE to work in data analysis. From what Iโ€™ve heard though, a lot of time is spent writing sql/other commands which, Iโ€™m no expert at! Business Stats & Applied Microeconomics were my favorite classes, along with a Business in Literature course I took my Jr. year. They were all led by amazing professors who genuinely cared about their studentโ€™s growth. Made such a difference!

Accounting was fun but towards the end I was ready to be done, it was very taxing on my brain๐Ÿ˜‰

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Prof's really do make a huge differenace @eshoe !  I originally did my BA in Economics and hated it at the time, I was right out of high school and ended up following it right up with a diploma in Culinary Management and then Baking and Pastry Arts.  I waited about 15 years to go back again, so it's been a time trying to manage working and going to classes, but I'm happy that I finally did it!  I've been enjoying almost every class this time around!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Wow thatโ€™s majorly impressive @missjeanie, kudos to you๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜„!!!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Ahhh, @eshoe ,  right back to you!  You're the best, especially for newer members like myself, keeping the mask thread going!    Gold in the SOS,  you deserve the gold!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Aww thank you @byme4u ๐Ÿ™‚ @Aaliaa did an amazing job of setting this whole thread up, it wouldn't be here if not for her! I hope she can join us again soon.

I realized after masking that I did a pirate's masking - silver and gold ๐Ÿ˜„

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Spoiler
Two Sheet masks to review from the last few days!

The first is the MISSHA Purifying Mask. The picture kind of looks like Juice so I am counting it as my J since I have no J masks haha. I really liked this mask. Step one is super similar to the PTR Peeling gel we were talking about last week. I think it was even more intense - the deal skin really balled up. Step 2 was a nice essence and then the sheet mask. The sheet mask was well shaped and well saturated. Overall my face felt really nice and smooth after using this I would give it an A.

I also tried the HEALING BIRD nutrition avacado sheet mask. I've never heard of this brand before. The fit was just okay - the nose area especially was too small. The mask itself was a thin cotton - it felt well saturated but I will say I kind of got distracted and left it on for 30 minutes and it was definitely drying down by then. The mask was nice but nothing special - I did pick up 2 others from this brand so I will try those later - I would give it a B+ it did a solid job but I wouldn't go out and buy it again.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Oh Iโ€™m so excited to use the Missha mask I have (red one) after reading your review on the green one @Kim888! Ooh, avocado! ๐Ÿฅ‘ Too bad it was just okay. Will be interesting to see if the other masks from this line perform the same way.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Kim888 I like how the Missha mask sounds!! I've had really good luck with the brand and this one seems like no exception! ๐Ÿ‘

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Kim888 these look very nice ๐Ÿ˜‰

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Kim888 not so great about the avocado, but itโ€™s always a win to find a good multi-step mask!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Kim888 haven't seen one bad review on Missha yet, love to have a brand that is consistently good! Especially for a 3-step mask, to have all steps be worth your time;)

I've got a couple of different Healing Bird masks, an Aloe and a Rose one. I agree, they are ok, good for just when you want to mask, but nothing spectacular.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Saw Capt. Marvel last night & was in the mood for some girl power! ๐Ÿ’ชSo power ranger villainess & purlisse founder Jennifer Yen was the choiceof the night. This was my first time using this mask, I got these from a shopper deal on ipsy ๐Ÿ˜ was curious about them & couldn't resist the price. They do have a citrusy smell to them, always nice for me,grapefruit really stood out to me. The fit was ok, forehead was perfect, nose a lil too wide for me & as usual the chin.๐Ÿ™„too long...my eyes & my nose area did get a lil irritated due to the oils or the scent. I'm not sure, but I wore it for the 20 min & then removed. It was just enoughuncomfortableness, to make me watch the clock. The serum is light, fresh & watery so you feel more wet than tacky. My skin did look brighter & healthier so I like the results just may have to cut the mask away from my eyes more next time. B+ but could bump to an A if I cut more on the eyes & it didnt irritate me

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

@sonnydee I wanted to try this one too and is one on my list of masks to tryโ€“ I tried the watermelon one and loved it!

Everything about this one sounds really great besides the eye irritation!
