Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Mask Hacks - Here are a few to get started thanks to our lovely BIC-ers, a big thank you for these fabulous ideas!

Spoiler

Trim off long chin and add to forehead for sheet masks	itsfi
Squeeze tube lip balms (like Bite) into pans and place in magnetic palette	sonnydee
Layer lip sleeping mask (such as Laneige) over regular balm	cianni
Derma plane prior to a peel-off mask to ease the pain of removal	heartsmyface
Warm water helps remove clay masks quicker than cold	cianni
Lay sheet masks flat prior to use so the serum is more evenly distributed	eshoe

Yes @Shosh85, Herbivore Emerald to the rescue!! 💚 The intensity of the prickly-ness was a big surprise! 😲😬 It’s too bad my skin reacted that way; I like the idea of the spa at home mask pack.

@itsfi  So sorry this didn't work out!! It sounds like a great concept, but you just never know how a mask is going to react on your skin. Glad the Herbivore oil gave you relief! Great review!!😊

@yankeefaithful, I think the masks could work for someone, just not me, which is fine. I did like the concept though. Herbivore Emerald Oil definitely came in handy! 👍🏼😃

Oh that started off with such pretty packaging, and then it was just a downhill ride.  Bummer that the masks didn't live up to the pretty flowers on them @itsfi .  I hope the aloe will help out your skin and there won't be any lasting ill effects!

Downhill ride is a great way to describe it @missjeanie! The aloe has been soothing; I’ve checked a couple of times and my skin seems to be holding up. Yaaay! That’s good news!😃

Oh no @itsfi. What an incredible amount of energy and time you poured into a mask set that did not love your skin back! Thankfully the Emerald Oil helped soothe and hydrate, what a huge disappointment for you. I think it's safe to say you will not be repurchasing this one?

Ha! There was a split second @eshoe where I wondered whether I should try it again. Lactic acid is usually one that my skin likes and responds well to.

It’s so strange @lmaster, my skin typically responds very well to lactic acid. Maybe the concentration was too high? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m glad that there’s no redness or irritation to my skin. Phew! 😅

Okay so I didn’t actually do the jelly mask cause I am super tired, but the egg mask is great!  It comes with a cute little spoon that you’re supposed to mix the yolk into the white with.  The spoon is useless for application so I just used my fingers.  There’s a very faint floral scent but nothing noticeable and it dissipates after putting it on.  On It feels like a gel and then is meant to absorb into your akin overnight and be washed off.  So far so good:)

Okay, so it felt wonderful until around 3am.  I woke up and my face felt pretty dry so I got up and put some of the mediflower green tea sleeping pack over top and went back to sleep.  My hubs did have a space heater going in our room which is unusual so maybe that has something to do both with me waking up and the dry skin.  I do have another egg mask that I’ll try again in the future.  Can’t honestly grade this one yet.  @eshoe @Shosh85 @byme4u

How did I miss this @heartsmyface ?!?! Waking up with dry skin is no fun, but yes - space heaters are so bad for that. I use one sometimes and I wake up not only with dry skin but parched. I just keep a facial oil by my bedside in case. And a liter of water 😄

@heartsmyface It's such a cute and cool concept! The heater has a lot to do with why my skin gets dried out more – it would be interesting to see how it does under normal circumstances. 😉
