I read that quickly as ‘despite the wilderness’ @Shosh85, it’s really time for me to slow down😄 Yeah when I saw Velvet Extract on the list of ingredients I thought ‘whaaaaa????’ Like those black velvet paint by numbers things came to mind. I could have sworn velvet was a fabric, not a plant....little did I know. And so much better off I was before knowing!
@eshoe oh, the things we learn! 😂🦌 This Thread has definitely been educational for me! 😆👍
Me too, @Shosh85! I just double-checked the little Facetory card that comes with the sub, as they give a little detail about each mask. They touted the HA and licorice root in this one...personally I think velvet extract is way more interesting 😄
Hyaluronic acid serum..ooo..thanks for sharing that even though it isn't a "mask" @Kim888. Now I'm curious about it, especially for $10.
@Kim888I was wondering if I'd hear any reviews for the Good Molecules products. I saw them in the lucky bag thread and was curious how they'd be. Good to hear such good reviews!
@Kim888, the After Shower mask sounds like it’d be great in the summer or to pack on vacation. Thanks so much for sharing about Good Molecules hyaluronic acid serum. I do love HA serums and I’ve seen that brand on Beautylish and wondered about it.
@Kim888 Sounds like a great group of masks! The After Shower Mask seems like it would be a great after-the-sun mask! It's always a plus when a mask fits great too!
I haven't heard of the Good Molecules serum, but it sounds like something I'd like, especially because of the super hydrating part. 😉👍
Oooh @Kim888 the Good Molecules sounds great, thanks for the review! Something that inexpensive is definitely worth a shot, sounds like you made the right trade;)
@Kim888 ohhh thanks for the review of the Good Molecules! I remember seeing some debate about it when the lucky bags came out because it was so new. That’s such a great price for a quality product!!
A little two for one to kick off my masking this week, and to make up for last week! To honour “gross week”, I followed in @itsfi footsteps and tried a placenta mask! This is the Clear Turn White - Placenta. Because my skin is still SO dry from some dermatologist cream that will be in my life for the foreseeable future, I threw in a sample of the KIEHL'S SINCE 1851 - Ginger Leaf & Hibiscus Firming Maskbecause I’m definitely in need of something to use overnight (taking suggestions if anyone has something other than the laneige sleeping mask, which I already know I love), plus H is for Hibiscus!
Brava to you @cianni for giving a placenta mask a try! If not for the 'gross' theme, I'm not sure I would have ever tried that mask, or any of the masks I've been using this week, for that matter.
As for sleeping masks, have you tried the GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Sleeping Mask? They also have a set with a cute sleeping mask - GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Sleeping Mask Set. I've found that one to be very moisturizing. Or, sometimes I will use the GLAMGLOW - THIRSTYMUD™ Hydrating Treatmentas an overnight mask. If it's really cold out or if my skin is super dry, I'll mix in a drop of rosehip oil to the ThirstyMud.
@itsfi thanks for the sugggestions! I have some samples of the glow recipe watermelon which I have saved for later in the challenge. Have you tried that one? If the consistency is the same (or the results) then I’ll try that sample first before committing to the avocado, which sounds a little more appealing to me compared to the watermelon
@cianni, I have tried the watermelon sleeping mask. It has a different consistency than the avocado mask. The watermelon sleeping mask is lighter and thinner in texture and consistency, feels more like a gel. The avocado sleeping mask has a cream consistency.
I could wear both year round but with the avocado, it means using a lighter hand in the summer months, and with the watermelon, it means making sure I have lots of other layers of hydration (essence, serum, moisturizer) before I apply the sleeping mask. If I were to pick one, I would pick the avocado melt. It works better for my skin (dehydrated-dry in winter and part of fall; dehydrated-combo (oily nose/chin) in spring/summer).
Thank you for all the detail @itsfi ❤️ My skin type sounds more like yours, so the avocado seems like it’ll work better for what I need. Also I can never resist a cute eye mask.. couldn’t tell you why 😂Thank you!!
Hahahaha! 😂😂 That eye mask is adorable! If I didn’t have a full size of the avocado mask already I would have picked that set up. I may purchase it as a bday gift for a friend with dry skin - someone needs that adorable eye mask in their life! 😉
@lmaster thanks babe💅🏼💕 it started to get dry (especially around the chin) probably around the 25 minute mark to the point where I could tell because it was starting to peel upwards at the edges. By 35 or so minutes the rest of the mask caught up and was pretty dry 😒
@cianni ok I was hoping that wasn't what happened right after you applied it 😳
