Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Mask Hacks - Here are a few to get started thanks to our lovely BIC-ers, a big thank you for these fabulous ideas!

Trim off long chin and add to forehead for sheet masks	itsfi
Squeeze tube lip balms (like Bite) into pans and place in magnetic palette	sonnydee
Layer lip sleeping mask (such as Laneige) over regular balm	cianni
Derma plane prior to a peel-off mask to ease the pain of removal	heartsmyface

Week 7 - Feb 11 - 17 - G - Special Occasion Masks - the mask(s) you use to pamper yourself

I went with @eshoe's suggestion..especially since she sent me this mask.

Here's my face:

The serum literally splashed out at me as I opened the package. The fit was nice. I wish there was a little more mask on the forehead but I have a fairly big forehead. I also really appreciated the mask was not skimpy between the nose and the lips. Since starting this challenge I've learned that some masks make that strip between the nose and lips quite tiny.

I left the mask on 25ish minutes (directions said 15-20) and it absorbed well. I don't think my skin felt tacky. The mask says it moisturizes and clarifies. Not exactly sure what results that implies. My skin appeared brighter and my forehead lines looked a little less noticeable but the fine lines by my eyes weren't improved. It also didn't have fragrance. It may have the general "mask smell" that @eshoe's daughter recognizes but I enjoyed the no fragrance. I would say an A-. Good fit, nice but not wow results.

@ShortErica This one sounds pretty decent! Love the pic!! The fit does look pretty good! I've only tried the watermelon one in this brand, but I loved that one! Sometime soon I'll be trying this one out. 👍😃

@Shosh85 yea, the fit was nice but unfortunately I had a giggle fit while wearing it so it wasn't perfectly aligned like the picture.

Giggle fit story: I was browsing for digital coupons on Publix's website and they had one for romaine lettuce. Under which it said "great for salads" and I got all worked up since who doesn't know you can use romaine lettuce for salads.

@ShortErica Haha! I've definitely messed up a mask by laughing! Especially with those slippery hydrogel ones!

The lettuce thing is too funny! 🥬 .... well, duh! 🤪

I hear you about the fit, @ShortErica. I’m sure it’s quite a challenge to create a mask model that is expected to fit a wide variety of faces. I think you start to notice the real oddities after a few masks, which just makes me curious about how they came up with the fit in the first place! A very thin or exaggerated strip between the lip and nose, like you mentioned. At any rate, it’s interesting!

What are the ones that stick out as the craziest fit in your mind @eshoe? And have you found that if a brand tends to make a poor fitting mask, the whole line from the brand fits badly or is it a mask by mask thing?

Most recently the Sweet Chef line, @ShortErica. I tried all 3 (as did @Shosh85 I believe) and they were all ill-fitting in the same places. Now that’s not common to all brands, the Crème Shop is all over the board with fit/tackiness/scent, but then again they have a huge variety.

@ShortErica @eshoe Of the Sweet Chef Masks, I've only tried the Kale one so far. I do plan on trying the ginger one this weekend sometime though! – but yes, the fit on that one was pretty bad, especially the lower half! 😳

@ShortErica Out of The Creme Shop masks, the "Fusion" line seems to be consistently pretty good. 👍 @eshoe 

ETA: I should mention, the Sweet Chef mask that I tried had a bad fit and didn't smell good to me, but it did give some great results! I know there are people who do like it — it just wasn't for me! I'm also extra sensitive to scents, so that has a lot to do with it too.
