I went with The Creme Shop Vitamin C Infused Face Mask sent to me by the wonderful BOSS III @eshoe
I regret not having the foresight to refrigerate it. I think that would have been a nice touch.
My face:
The fit was pretty awkward. Can someone please explain the eye flaps on the bottom? Was I supposed to close my eyes and flip them up? Also there were quite a few cuts on the edges but no matter how I tried to line them over top of each other, the fit was eh. The chin was the worst.
The mask itself was soaked with serum which was good. I wish it stayed in place better but I kept noticing the edges were peeling off. It also had a scent - not overwhelming but definitely present. Maybe it was floral/fruity. So if you aren't into scents (am I thinking of @itsfi ?) then I would steer clear. The directions said to leave it on 20-30 minutes (I approve - that's how I like to mask) and I think I wore it for 35-40 minutes. The results were pretty nice though. My skin looked brighter and more plump. I think my skin was slightly tacky after but it didn't bother me.
So I'm torn because of the poor fit but good results. I'm leaning toward C+ but maybe B-.
@ShortErica I love your mask pictures! ❤️
I've tried this one before, and my thoughts on it were pretty close to yours – the fit was definitely off, the scent was ok to me, but not great – but it did give some pretty good results! Like @itsfi already said, the eye flaps are meant to cover your eyes while lying down, but I have literally never laid down with a mask on, haha! I just use them for extra coverage for my undereye. 😉👍
Thanks @Shosh85! I like when there is some sort of agreement or else I wonder what I am missing or did wrong. And even with not the best masks, I really enjoy trying them all.
Sorry for the poor fit @ShortErica... but glad you got good results. I have this one that I need to try soon! Thanks for mentioning the scent!
Hopefully you get good results too @veronika23! Just get your scissors out so it doesn't look as crazy on you. 😉
Hahaha yeah better get the scissors! @ShortErica
@ShortErica it’s always hard to balance out a really poor fitting mask and good results; they both factor into the whole mask experience. I usually look at the results in large part because there are always adjustments I have to make to a mask, but if I have to make a lot of adjustments, that can take away from the whole thing.
The eye flaps are meant to allow you to lie down, close your eyes and cover your eyes with the eye flaps, to add to the relaxation of using a sheet mask. That’s what they are intended for. I get it conceptually but I rarely lie down when I’m using a sheet mask so I use them the way @Kim888 mentioned - to cover more of my under eye area, and I really don’t like having sheet masks cover my eyelids. I sometimes will use them to cover areas that the mask might not reach, usually my forehead or if the mask strip above the upper lip is too thin. I keep a pair of mini scissors in the bathroom to snip away pieces of sheet masks.
I have this mask so it’s very helpful to know about the scent. Thank you! I’m generally okay with subtle scents but if it’s too strong, the sheet mask experience becomes less enjoyable. Fruity floral I can usually do but now I know what to expect. 😃
Thanks so much @itsfi! I can't imagine that those eye flaps were large enough to cover my eyes comfortably. If I have a mask with them in the future, I may have to try it out.
The scent was pretty subtle so hopefully you like it. I need to remember the names of mask but I had one a couple weeks ago that was too smelly for me and this was not like that at all, just a slight scent.
That's why I really appreciate when people share their faces @lmaster - all these masks fit everyone differently and what might work for you, won't for me and vice versa.
@ShortErica definitely!!
@ShortErica . I'm with everyone else... I've no idea what's up with the eye flaps. I just leave them down like you did. I feel like they'd be too small to flip up if I was laying down with my eyes closed, to get them over my lashes. I'm glad you enjoyed this mask. I'm hoping that in the fridge over the summer will bring some extra nice results!
I really need to just throw some masks in my refrigerator @missjeanie. By the time I'm ready to mask at the end of a long day, I always wish I would have something cool. Tonight I will prep my mask for this week and toss it in! It's always warm in Florida so I don't have to wait for summer. 🙂
@ShortErica lol now I'm just jealous! I've got about 6 feet of snow in my front yard and another foot coming tomorrow. All of my masks are cool right now and I've been putting them in a sink of warm water before they get to my face lol I do like the idea of putting them in the fridge when it's warmer out though. I'll have to give it a try!
Dang! I miss the snow @missjeanie and actually don't like the heat. It is nice not having to bundle up but I get to be a sweaty mess really quickly. Fall is my favorite season.
@ShortErica lol we always want what we don't have right lol.... I'd take a nice in between for sure... we'll need to meet in the middle somewhere... Georgia? Tennessee? I love my summers here because while we do get some hot days, its generally pretty tolerable, though maybe I just rely on my air conditioner too much lol I'm just over having to shovel/snowblow every few days!
@ShortErica - interesting - I always assumed those flaps were so my undereyes also got the mask but I really have no idea! It sounds like the results were good even if the fit was annoying !
They were good results @Kim888 and another thing I noticed was the dry down was pretty even across my face. Well, except where there was a ton of chin excess. I still need to attempt mask surgery to create a better fit but I'm so intimidated. I'm sure someone will know what the flaps are for and we'll all be a little wiser!
Keeping a mini scissors nearby is a lifesaver @ShortErica. 20 minutes seems like a REALLY long with a bad fit. I haven’t figured out what the eye flaps are for either, I just know that I don’t like them 😆
