ARCHIVE - 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! Please continue posting on the Q4 Thread which can be found here:

Spoiler

Many thanks to the wonderful @Aaliaa for beginning this thread and excited you are here.

To Post:

Spoiler
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@CC3616 I really like the clean ingredients list. 😃 I love that you have a “must try soon” list. It’s motivating me to break up my list into two - a “must try someday” list and a “must try soon” list. I think the “must try soon” list should be shorter but I don’t know if that’s how mine would actually end up! LOl! 😆

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

I have to make them all must try soon's because if I wait too long I'll forget 😉 @itsfi

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi do you have a preference out of the 2 Orgaid masks you've tried so far? They are on my 'to-do' list and both sound good!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@eshoe, I’ve tried all 3 of them, one was sometime last year. The Greek Yogurt Nourishing one is my favorite of the 3 sheet masks.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

Thank you @itsfi 😊

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi These Orgaid masks and ingredients sound so good! I really need to try them sometime! Which one has been your favorite?

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@Shosh85, I like the Greek Yogurt Nourishing one the most, followed by the anti-aging moisturizing one and then the vitamin C mask.83570F93-9AD4-4C94-AF6F-25E77D4A747D.jpeg

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi Awesome! I'll definitely be checking these out, starting with this one! 😉👍

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

The orgaid sounds wonderful! I have 2 coming but not sure which 2 😄 @itsfi

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@veronika23, excited to see which ones you get. The yogurt one is great for hydrating and moisturizing the skin; I really hope that is one of them. If it isn’t let me know and I can see one making its way to Canada via post. 😉

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

Awww you are too nice! I think that is one of them actually! Rings a bell 😄 @itsfi

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi  those eye masks sound really interesting! I deff have that sheet mask in my collection I'll have to try it soon!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@Kim888, I put off trying these eye masks for a while because I was nervous about the shape and essence but these are quite nice. Lovin’ the Orgaid sheet masks. 💗 Would love to know your thoughts on them when you get around to using one.

Re: @itsfi these eye masks look really nice, they all sound s...

@lmaster, I’ve been surprised that I like these eye masks. It takes a bit to get accustomed to the fit but they are nice! 😃

Re: @itsfi these eye masks look really nice, they all sound s...

Oh these were the one we were talking about a few months ago @itsfi  you just jogged my memory with that comment 😂

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi I love that little traveling case! I find it interesting how there was no scent, but The ingredients include citrus and lavender 🤔

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@cianni, I thought the same thing about the scent - it has extracts that usually have a strong scent to them - orange peel, lavender and thyme. Vitamin C masks typically have a distinct scent to it that, to my nose 👃🏼, gives off a chemical smell, but I didn’t pick anything up, either when I removed the mask from the packet or when I applied the mask to my face. Not complaining but it was different than other Vit C masks in that regard.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

Ooh, nice to hear about the Orgaid mask, @itsfi. I love a good vitamin C mask!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

The Orgaid masks have been really good to my skin @quspork! 💖

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

End of last weeks masking

IMG_0767.jpg

  • Whole foods green tea mask. It was a green foil on the outside, I looked like @Shosh85's green tin man twin. No noticeable scent. 2 piece, I actually would have preferred one because when the bottom was drying out and falling off a one piece would have helped it stay in place. Soft and plump afterwards. Thumbs up
  • Tony moly lip patch... Ummmm.. Not for me. It probably would have been ok but I didn't realize it was a lay down and wear, and I had plans to be up doing things while wearing it. I tried a couple times and it flopped off sadly, it was a thick gel material kind of like a lip shaped jello jiggler.
  • Rodial stemfood cleanser/mask. Vitamin E for last week. Instructions say to mask leave on 15 minutes but it works best for me 5-10 since it gets the blood pumping and I get red and warm with it. It's not irritation and it goes down overnight, but 10 minutes is my comfort max. I feel so-so on this. It does no harm but isn't an all star.. I should try it as a cream cleanser.
  • Malin and Goetz brightening enzyme mask. I kindly received this from space NK last summer when it released as a gratis. Directions are to leave on 5 minutes and rinse and I think 5-10 works well but see no difference with a longer time. It has little soft fruit bits in it as "physical" exfoliators and I like it for when I am dull but concerned about over exfoliation since it's very gentle. I'm still forming a solid opinion on it, I've used it a handful of times.

I haven't used anything this week because I have a couple cystic acne spots and haven't decided what I want to use yet. I am waging war on the spots with lactic acid and mario badescu drying lotion alternatively. GRRRRR! I think dairy, we have been doing a lot of smoothies with yogurt lately and I didn't really make the connection until this morning. I had a major issue with cystic's in my mid 20's and wiped out dairy, it's been a few years since I had issues so it had slipped my mind.
