2019 Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello lovely masking mavens! We have outgrown the original thread started by the wonderful @Aaliaa and are beginning another masking journey. Many thanks to her and excited you are here. ***Half-Year Update will be posted this week***

To post:

Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

Thanks @eshoe! Guess when I looked it up a while back it wasn't on the site... unless I'm getting this one confused with another. Smiley Very Happy

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@eshoe I love the packaging on that Moon Velvet mask!  Such a pretty aesthetic and so nice that it's a great mask itself as well!

The Milk Masks are on my list for the next Sephora sale... I'm digging the idea of not having to get my hands or a brush dirty!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@missjeanie the Milk is definitely my current favorite clay mask. SO easy to apply and wash off, not too drying...ahhhhh!

I would pick up more of the Facetory masks, they had a sale on them recently and I hadn't tried it yet so I didn't buy any. Story of my life Smiley Wink

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@eshoe The packaging on the milk stick masks is so nice to see.  Something different. And I hear you on the Sales... I'm trying to only purchase sale stuff this year.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@eshoe  ooooh the eye mask sounds great. Love a good eye mask Smiley Happy

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@GalPalVal17  it was definitely hydrating and FULL of serum - enough for a full face mask! In retrospect I should have decanted it for a DIY mask, next time!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

glad the moon velvet worked out for you as well @eshoe  and ooh that eye mask looks and sounds great!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

It was nice, @Kim888 -I don’t come across many masks with that type of serum, so it was a treatSmiley Wink

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@eshoe Sounds like a lot of successful masking! I really need to remember that "zero expectations" thing. 😂 The eye mask looks so cute! Too bad it was so messy and floppy!

Happy to hear you liked the Moon Velvet mask! I'd buy it based on the packaging alone! 😉🤗

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@Shosh85  there was so much serum in that eye mask. SO MUCH!

The Moon Velvet was good, I’ve been impressed overall with the Facetory masks. It’s a good serum for dry skin, kind of like the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin serum🥰

I love your zero expectations @eshoe glad they worked out...

I love your zero expectations @eshoe glad they worked out great!

Re: I love your zero expectations @eshoe glad they worked out...

I swear it’s the way to go @lmaster, really the only way. Every time I’ve had high expectations it’s been a let-down😄

Re: I love your zero expectations @eshoe glad they worked out...

@eshoe  I'm LOL 😂😂 you have seriously made me laugh and put me in a better mood!! I love laughing too you are great 😎

Re: I love your zero expectations @eshoe glad they worked out...

@eshoe  love it! You are great 😂😂

Re: I love your zero expectations @eshoe glad they worked out...

@eshoe Nice!! Haha!! I seriously looove these little drawings!! It's perfect! 😍😂

Re: I love your zero expectations @eshoe glad they worked out...

I amuse myself sometimes @Shosh85, glad I could amuse you, too🤣

2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

My masking choice of the night. The I Dew Care Matcha Mood Soothing Green Tea wash-off mask has some good ingredients including Vitamin E. it's one of the new masks that just came out. I left it on for about 15 min. It doesn't dry & cleans off easy. Smells great. it did soothe my skin like promised. It does have alcohol in it so it better wow me if it wants to get repurchased. No grade yet. This was my first time. YTTP cleanser I still dont like it, only trying to use it up at this point. I most likely will destash my other sample if not both of the 2 that I have. The mask did help soothe some of the dryness/tightness that the yttp caused. Hanalei lip also has some great ingredients acai, shea, to name a few that I remember when I looked up everything that will fit the theme. I really like it & grab up all I can when I see it on ipsy. It is a thicker formula though. Happy making y'all!

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

Seeing alcohol as one of the main ingredients is why I haven't tried the Matcha Mood yet @sonnydee, but if you see some amazing results, then I would be willing to give it a try with one of the minis. I have been using Cake My Day to bring some hydration back in my skin after exfoliating, and I really like it so far.

Re: 2019 Mask of the Week Challenge

@sonnydee, that Hanalei lippie sounds great!! Adding it to my list (because I need MORE lip products - hahaha! 😂😂)! The YTTP cleanser can be a bit too much for me too - it’s a summer cleanser and only used occasionally. I like your idea of using it to clean my brushes!! 👍🏼
