Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):

Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.  

Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.

The product id is the number given to the item in the URL.  So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number.  If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta. 

It's not a search, but the direct url to the page. 

Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar.  It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204  Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.

My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:

(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward.  E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward.  Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase.  Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.

As of at least two hours ago, the beauty bag gwp is out of stock. If their quantities were so limited, why did Ulta advertise it as being available through the 8th? I realize a $25 buy in is exceedingly low, but I don't believe that so many people are placing orders right after Christmas. Especially as there's no new releases, Hot Buys,  promos/incentives to stack.

So happy for a $25 buy-in - especially when I needed something that cost $20, so adding a $5 item to get the GWP felt worth it.

Ugh, just when a purchase I was going to make is on the 9th. It;s not that great of a gwp but I feel like im getting a better deal when it comes with a gwp.  One of the few things that interested me in the whole event. 😞 How likely will there be a BB on WED? @ohheyitscindyk

In theory there should be a Beauty Break on Wed...we had one that day last year, so if the schedule holds, there will be one.

We also have this GWP projected to be live that day as well; not sure what you're looking to buy, but this may be an option as well, though Ulta is bad about pulling stacks lately, so we'll have to wait and see if we get both (may have to c&p the full link, as the pound sign in it confuses the system...it's looking for a product tag. Sigh...)

Question: has there ever been a time when a big Platinum Bag has coincided with a 20% off including prestige? Hubby is curious about the Kiehl's Men Skin care and we're deciding when to pull the trigger. 😁

@magda124 I’m in the same boat!(definitely the boat where I need 0 samples, but man I want em!!) I think I’ve just gotten spoiled by Ulta but now I’m holding on to an outrageous number of points for the “right time”, 20% and a bag! 😊 like @itscarin mentioned, it has definitely happened before, but I can’t find any frame of reference for the dates! Looking back through my order history I don’t think they had any in 2018, but they did have an influencer bag plus a platinum gwp bag and a bunch of other gwp halfway through January last year for the love your skin event. Best suggestion would be to look back through the Ulta spreadsheet if you’ve got it, @RGbrown and the other awesome bic’ers have done an amazing job keeping track of past promotions! (If you don’t have it pm me and I’ll try to send it!) 😊👍

I too have a ridiculous amount of points that I need to spend lest Ulta randomly goes bankrupt/I get abducted by aliens and they go forever unused. 😅 But we all want everything for the least amount possible, don't we! 😁

@magda124 I think there has been overlap between 20% off coupons and platinum gift bags.  I believe I got one in October of 2017 or 2016.  But, to be fair, it was a 20% off non-prestige coupon that I used to buy a T3 curler (the 20% off applies to some prestige hair care/tools).

I know it has been asked (and answered) before but I can't find it and I can't remember the answer.  Do you get points if you redeem points?  I want to get the haircare jumbo points (5X) and my birthday multiple and regular points (Platinum).  Will I get these if I use points to purchase?  I also seem to recall that I should try for a purchase of about $125 when redeeming points.  Do I have that memory correct?

And yep... you'll get the most bang for your buck if you redeem in 2000 ($125) point increments.
