Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):

Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.  

Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.

The product id is the number given to the item in the URL.  So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number.  If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta. 

It's not a search, but the direct url to the page. 

Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar.  It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204  Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.

My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:

(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward.  E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward.  Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase.  Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.

Quick q: does ordering through Rakuten still count as the Ulta app? I thought it did, but checkout there is showing me only the base reward points right now.

@EsinaJ @If you order through Rakuten it does not count as the Ulta app. You would have to launch it first through Rakuten then order through the Ulta app if it’s exclusive to it. Then go to Rakuten to claim the missing dollars.

It's nice to see Ulta make this a generic codes for everyone instead doing the usual targeted qs; 20% off Dyson with code DYSON20 through Saturday 

The graphic also says 5x points when you shop in the app; not seeing a multiplier for it though 🤔 perhaps automatic with the code? I am unsure of how this'll work

I imagine Ulta will be offering their $20 eReward card with $100 GC purchase soon. My question is, are there any points to be earned when either buying or using the cards?

@savvy4 It depends. Yes, points are technically up for grabs on the gift card purchases but they are only earned when you make a purchase while redeeming the gift cards. For example in the past I've purchased these gift cards for family & friends and when I use my $20 reward on a purchase I receive X amount of points per order based on my status and the currently active ULTA multipliers. (However, you can also totally "gift" the $100 gift card to yourself as well 😉 to get a nice little extra bang for your buck for a future purchase)

If you're buying the $100 gift card in order to use it as a gift for someone else, then technically the $100 you spent would be redeemed by the recipient at the time they used their gift card. Therefore, you technically cover the cost of them earning their ULTA points. If you buy the $100 gift card and redeem it yourself, it would be not different than using cash/card on the purchase.
