Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):

Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.  

Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.

The product id is the number given to the item in the URL.  So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number.  If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta. 

It's not a search, but the direct url to the page. 

Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar.  It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204  Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.

My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:

(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward.  E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward.  Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase.  Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.

I went and bought the Emily Edit in store yesterday! Totally forgot about the coupon. There are two Ultas here in town and unfortunately I went to the one with the super rude staff and got flustered. I don’t do the best in social settings to begin with. I did get my palette though, so there is that. I only went in store anyway to swatch the Tutti Frutti stuff I was on the fence about. I didn’t end up liking the stick or liquid highlighters. Too glittery. So saved myself some dollars too.

I was very happy when I saw my items ship. I got t3  hair rollers and Base 4 big chief for 20% off. Then I got the ABH norvina for free. I used 2000 points and only paid $10. I was going to post my deal but when I got back to the site it was fixing the glitch . I got in just under the wire, but saved about $70 was able to use my 20% and points.  Can’t thank you girls enough for posting the deal. I was lucky just made fixing the glitch and it shipped. Thank you again to those who posted! Y’all are the best!

First a big FU from my wallet! LOL. Seriously thanks to everyone that maintains this awesome thread with all of the deals. You are amazing and have enabled soooo many purchases for me @ Ulta.  

Ok, real tea! If you guys buy during 10 X point event , if you hate the item do you return or just let it go since you would lose all those points? I am talking about $90 worth of stuff that didn't work for you at all. I would lose 900 points. Ughh. I just hate waste. TY all xoxo

If you aren't going to use those items AT ALL, I would return. Yes, you'd lose a lot of points, but we must remember, cash is king! There's always sales and/or multipliers going on, so there's constantly opportunity to get bonus points. Looking at it from a deal standpoint, in this situation you're "buying points" vs. buying products that you want and will use, plus as a bonus get a bunch of points...ya know?

So they will be going back. I am trying not to fall into the points trap. Buying and keeping only because it earned me points and never ever using it!

I had the same thing happen and I'm pretty disappointed! I bought the new Flesh Palette and it has fallen off my eyes in chunks twice now.

I still haven't returned it because I'm so sad about it, but I really should. That's...weird behavior. For $38?

For me personally, $90 is a tidy sum, and I think I'd rather have the cash back than $56 worth of points. But then again, if you hold the points until the next 20%, they're worth more like $70, which would drop it down to only $20ish lost on those items, which isn't nearly as bad. All in all it's a tough call, but really depends on your cash flow and your preference for cash vs points.

I didn't think this would work, but the 20% coupon worked for the OPI buy 2, get 1 free sale.  I got some really pretty colors!  Nail polish was the last bastion of beauty product addiction for me.  🙂

These are amazing, but $75 is just too high. Ulta has some amazing GWP bundles, but the buy-in is often just too spendy for me.
