Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.  

Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.

The product id is the number given to the item in the URL.  So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number.  If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta. 

It's not a search, but the direct url to the page. 

Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar.  It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204  Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.

My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:

(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward.  E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward.  Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase.  Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.

I can't figure out what happened here because my math comes out different.  Can anyone figure out how ulta came up with their calculations?  They subtracted 1410 points from my account meaning that I earned 590 for my purchase.  I can't figure out how they came to that number!

Wait, I think I figured it out.  They took my eligible spend, including -$125 for the points I redeemed, multiplied it by 1.25, then gave me 4x on Nars, and then 2x on the eligible spend.

@itscarin  Here comes my haul!!! Guess ulta is just trying to get rid of the $160 bag by adding more GWPs...LOL

It's a pure skin care haul. I have 6000+ points and recently become addicted to Perricone, and two of their sets are on sale + the gwp VC ester serum is 0.5oz!

Not that excited, but not bad for less than 45 bucks~

DEFINETLY NOT indulging in this one!  The huge 'buy in' amount increases just keep coming!  $65 for 8 deluxe sizes?  Really, Ulta?! It looks like this may be the norm from now on......huge bummer.

@heath64 To be fair, I think the beauty breaks are always around $50 and generally include 2-4 deluxe samples.  I think $65 for the 8 samples is fair. 

I would agree they're uninspired samples.  No one is foaming at the mouth to get some PTR sample, but 8 for $65 is fair.

Where I hear you on the price gouging is the $185 or even $160 for the 32 piece sample bag.  That is a crazy high buy in, and like others have mentioned, for a $225 buy in you can get a much nicer barney's bag.  It just depends on what you're buying and what your preference is.

I've reached a point where I have boxes and boxes of samples, thanks to all the ladies on this thread, most notably @notcreative!  😛  GWP can be addictive, but you have to remember there is no first prize for who collects the most widgets!  I prefer to save money with 20% off sales or bonus points as opposed to samples, unless the sample is really cute.  Sometimes the samples are  helpful because it saves me from having to buy the full-sized item.  More often than not I find that I'm not very interested in the samples though.

I agree that the value for a BB is around what it usually is, but I don't think i've seen any gwps that are under the combined sample value (they are usually at or above the price threshold)

If someone were to buy the gwp outright, I've done it before with some of the $10 ones, but I dont think any customer would pay $65 for a $60 value?

@heath64for reals lol the value of the bb samples is only $60 ...i almost got sucked in with the additional ptr beauty break and the platinum bag, but now i think both rituals body wash are almost out of stock, they reduced it to only 1 in my bag. Def not worth spending the full amount on these gwps...

i think i might go on a no buy until my birthday month aug, hopefully ulta will revert their ways by then haha 🙂

@Sodayui Thanks for adding that!  I was hoping someone would show us their stacked promos but looks like no one is getting excited about the GWP.  XD  I can't say I blame them. I put an order in on Monday because I wanted to buy some stuff and I thought the 32 piece bag would be a cool freebie.  OFC, Wednesday they come out with even more freebies, but I'm not even mad about that because nothing is too enticing in today's beauty break.
