Let's keep this thread on topic!
Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):
Item #1 - $53.50
Item #3 - $108.50 (and is eligible for a certain item/brand 5x multiplier)
* There is also a 5x all purchase multiplier and you are platinum so you get 1.25x
Total Spent - $162
Base Points Earned - 162
Platinum .25x Earned - 41 (162 * .25 = 40.5, and rounding up)
5x All Purchases Earned - 648 (it ends up being 4x because you don't count the base points)
5x Item/Brand Earned - 434
Total Points Earned - 1285
Links are not allowed. In lieu of links, please read this:
Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.
Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.
The product id is the number given to the item in the URL. So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number. If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta.
It's not a search, but the direct url to the page.
Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar. It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204 Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.
My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:
(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward. E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward. Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase. Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.
Multiplier | 1 | 1.25 | 1.5 | 2 | 2.25 | 2.5 | 3 | 3.25 | 3.5 | 4 | 4.25 | 4.5 | 5 | 7.25 | 7.5 | 8 | 8.25 | 8.5 | 9 | 9.25 | 9.5 | 10 | 10.25 | 10.5 |

New (tiny) gwp, item 2608882
Surprise Sample Pack = a few foils or perfume samples, so don't go out of your way for it!
Over 4200 qualifying items starting at $3, looks like mostly makeup and skincare
Offering up my Diamond code, too. Sure, I'd love to try Exuviance's sunscreen, but it contains retinol which I don't need because I already use retinaldehyde on my entire face each night. (It's a bad idea to double up on vitamin A in your skincare routine.)
Comment when you've used this code, please. Don't be a jerk and waste other people's time by not letting us know you grabbed someone else's code.
Used. Thank you for sharing 😊
@Indy701 Aaah… I’m finally returning the favor! I remember you kindly sharing a prestige coupon with me a couple of years ago. ☺️
A couple of brand-specific afternoon GWPs have trickled in…
So the afternoon email came over an hour early? Not complaining, just wasn't expecting it, so here I am at 4 like normal lol
No new diamond gift, but 2 new gwps as mentioned by civ, plus two sales
What’s everybody getting? Or not? I’ve had a starter cart to hit the $40 threshold for bonus points thinking Perk Day offers might motivate me to make it a $70 cart. But nothing is tempting enough, especially considering that with these fixed bonus point offers I don’t want to take risks and possibly have to return anything…
@civ2ru I might take advantage of 5x points on bareMinerals. I'm also interested in Supergoop's new Lipscreen balm and their body version of Unseen Sunscreen, which is cheaper per ounce than the face version (often the case with sunscreen in general). Gotta compare INCI lists to see if they're wildly different, but if the body version performs similarly enough to the face version, I'll switch to the former.
@WinglessOne I've noticed that body products in general are cheaper or bigger than the face versions, also!! Like masks, scrubs and serums that have been coming out lately. I just thought that maybe they were different than the face versions and that I shouldnt interchange them? Curious to know what you find out!! I wanted to try the volition sunscreen when it was half off, but looks like it was discontinued 😞
@treestar86 Yeah, many sunscreens' face and body versions are very similar in terms of skin finish and overall performance, and their ingredients are sometimes very similar. They might be formulated a bit differently to make sunscreen easier to spread on the body or face. Native makes face and body versions of their mineral sunscreens, for instance, and the body version's much less expensive per ounce. Bondi Sands is another good example; I use the body version of their chemical sunscreen on my face and exposed body skin. I often tell folks looking to save money to check for a body version of any sunscreen they're interested in, and try using it on their face.
In Supergoop's case, it looks like the face and body versions of Unseen Sunscreen are very different. The new body version seems to be more of a lightweight gel finish than the siliconey face version, with fewer ingredients. You can check and compare the INCI lists right now at Ulta and Supergoop direct, and see how different they are. 😉
About Volition: do you mean Volition Beauty Prismatic Luminizing Shield SPF 50 1 oz/ 30 mL ? Volition's site says it'll be available in spring 2023. There's also a new "Adaptint" sunscreen available at their site right now.
@WinglessOne sorry for the late response! 😕 yes, thats the one I meant 🙂 and thats good to know about face vs. body sunscreens!! thanks!! the shiseido is a nice one, thats half off today. but sadly, sold out already. 😩
@civ2ru Nothing. I dont have the money, and have too much stuff so i'm buying less. But im also just over all of these crappy diamond/perk gifts...like "travel sizes" and the same old minis they always push, like the clinique ones. which, btw, I just tried the black honey lippie I got as a freebie recently...and it was backwards in the tube. 😒 so a bit hard to use. we used to get nice, full sized freebies. now its just "travel sized", or recycled gwps. not sure I'll even be diamond next year. 😕
I'm at 2000+ points and I needed a few things, so I ordered. I've been hemming and hawing for a couple weeks but the Clinique gift with the mini mascara pushed me to order now, since that's the one I use and I don't really need a full size, and I'm pretty sure the $15 off coupon expires in a few days.
@civ2ru Same here. I’m running low on my Fresh toner so decided to pick it up today with additional perks but if I didn’t actually need it, I would have 100% skipped a purchase today. Nothing is enticing enough to make me do another purchase. Here’s what I got:
I'm struggling to find anything I want 😕 The perk deals aren't that enticing to me, the brand specific gifts aren't pulling me towards anything in particular, and I'm not super interested in the Diamond gift either, not enough for that to sway me. I still need to go through the sale page, I haven't checked it out since it changed yesterday, but overall I'm feeling very uninspired so far, even with a 15/75 and the bonus points.
@RGbrown I feel you. I’m a sucker for GWP’s and lately I don’t think I’ve been making too many purchases (compared to other years) because even the GWP’s are not that great. Unless I have 2000 points, I don’t see the need to play with my cart.
