Ulta GWPs

This thread will be for Ulta GWPs only.  Share ulta promos here.

Please do NOT post requests for the spreadsheet in this thread.  Please post requests for the Ulta GWP google spread sheet in this thread:

Let's keep this thread on topic!

Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):

Item #1 - $53.50

Item #3 - $108.50 (and is eligible for a certain item/brand 5x multiplier)

* There is also a 5x all purchase multiplier and you are platinum so you get 1.25x

Total Spent - $162

Base Points Earned - 162

Platinum .25x Earned - 41 (162 * .25 = 40.5, and rounding up)

5x All Purchases Earned - 648 (it ends up being 4x because you don't count the base points)

5x Item/Brand Earned - 434

Total Points Earned - 1285

Since a lot of information is being removed from this thread, try to help each other out and add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.

Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.

The product id is the number given to the item in the URL.  So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number.  If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta.  It's not a search, but the direct url to the page.  Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar.  It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod12345678.  Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the sample id.

My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:

(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward.  E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward.  Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase.  Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.

Re: Argh! I didn't get the 4x multiplier for all purchases 😞

Thank you. I have to sign up for emails

Re: Ulta GWPs

I just want to throw this out there in case it's helpful info, and to ask if anyone else experiences this to please let me know.

I had stopped receiving emails and mailings and multlipliers (specific and general,) since last September.

Three weeks ago I guess I spoke to the correct person, because she got me all the way fixed.

Until, that is, I made a return in store that was originally an online purchase.  This is the second or third time this has happened to me, and I really am starting to wonder if there is a connection.

RE: Re: Ulta GWPs

The logical side of me agrees with what everyone is saying that there isn’t a correlation. The paranoid side of me conjures up all these possibilities after my own experience with Sephora’s return limit woke me up to a retail world that I had no idea existed. Here’s my conspiracy theory: maybe they randomly audit returns (could be luck of draw from random routine samples they take of their data) or patterns (like maybe a particular type of product being returned) and it’s computer driven by like a bot and when they go into your account and muck around in it to gather info they accidentally screw up the email functions (tech is very sensitive - hence why registers freeze/act up when it rains in older stores). One time last summer I had done too many weird transactions in a row like too many exchanges at once of 5 cheap drugstore chapsticks and I noticed suddenly the associates were having trouble accessing my account after that like it was semi frozen. Then about 2 weeks of my account acting weird but still usable, it suddenly went back to normal and has been that way ever since with regard to transaction history. BUT REALLY I think Ulta just has glitchy temperamental software because even to this day from one year ago they still can’t fix this bug on my account where they merged my addresses (I had moved several times) and my address on file is still problematic (something so simple still doesn’t have a permanent fix). I still believe they don’t monitor returns and accounts on the scale that Sephora does though. I do prefer them personally because they’re more straightforward perhaps a little rough around the edges or loud in a way whereas Sephora speaks softly but carries a big stick. Pardon my rambles.

Re: RE: Re: Ulta GWPs

@yuline   I can see both of the points you made.  I do think it's possible they monitor accounts because they must have some sort of system that determines who gets which coupons or multipliers.  I think there may be something between a particular store's functions and that of the online functions that do not mesh somehow.  I guess we'll never really know.

Re: Ulta GWPs

@Ispend2much6 I really don’t think so as I make returns if online purchase where I can’t see colors etc and they don’t work out. And I still receive all the info Smiley Happy

Re: Ulta GWPs

@Ispend2much6 I have purchased things online and returned in-store, and my email situation has remained the same.  I haven't noticed a correlation between in-store returns and being bumped off the ulta email list.

I also want to add that I've also returned items, but sti...

I also want to add that I've also returned items, but still get the emails and some multipliers. You could try changing the email address they have on file, it had worked for me.

Re: I also want to add that I've also returned items, but sti...

@donnainca   Thanks for the suggestion.  Ulta did that for me, and I did for myself, and it worked about two times then stopped.  It's so weird.

Re: Ulta GWPs

@Ispend2much6  I think there is a connection as twice I have made returns and  after both it took months for me to get the emails straightened out again.

Re: Ulta GWPs

@Indy701   Thanks for letting me know!  Now if we could only figure out how to get it fixed.

Re: Ulta GWPs

@Ispend2much6 I think  I just finally got lucky both times and talked to someone who knew how to fix it. It took a lot of tries unfortunately.

Re: Ulta GWPs

I just received this - 😢 I placed my order at 12:45am pst. There’s no way it should be OOS.

Re: Ulta GWPs

@CAcay I have had that happen before. It made me so mad as they constantly have GWPs so I would have saved the order for the next one. You can try calling to see if they can substitute. I had no luck last time but the guy wasn’t as friendly as CS normally is.

Re: Ulta GWPs

Redken Platinum Perk with any online purchase 5/6

Re: Ulta GWPs

@ohheyitscindyk  @RGbrown  Beautybudgetcollection has an image of the upcoming Lancome Beauty Break and it's a good one!  Her guess is it will go live 5/1.

Re: Ulta GWPs

Oh snap, a Lacquer! The pic is full size, but surely it'll be a mini? I don't even care lol, I just want it. No matter that there's a 99.98% chance I already have that shade 😆😆😆

Re: Ulta GWPs

Ooooohh this one looks good!! The funny thing is that every time I see a Lancome Lacquer I think of @RGbrown Smiley Very Happy. Just think of it as a travel size for your collection lol!

Re: Ulta GWPs

@RGbrown  It looks to be a good size, we can only hope for full!  This one will be tempting.

Re: Ulta GWPs

Lol @RGbrown it’s always sad when you look at an awesome gwp and then are like wait... I have all those things

Re: Ulta GWPs

Hahahah, yeah, so true. But...if it is a mini, my guess is it'll be shade Be Unique (that's the only one I've seen in a mini so far), and if so, I wouldn't mind a backup. I have a mini of it now and have been debating a full size, but this'll save me from having buy one lol. Never mind the fact that I'd have to spend $50 for the gift when I could just spend $26 on the full size 😂

Re: Ulta GWPs

@RGbrown   Ooohh, I remember now.  I don't like that shade; money saved. Smiley Happy
