Let's keep this thread on topic!
Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):
Item #1 - $53.50
Item #3 - $108.50 (and is eligible for a certain item/brand 5x multiplier)
* There is also a 5x all purchase multiplier and you are platinum so you get 1.25x
Total Spent - $162
Base Points Earned - 162
Platinum .25x Earned - 41 (162 * .25 = 40.5, and rounding up)
5x All Purchases Earned - 648 (it ends up being 4x because you don't count the base points)
5x Item/Brand Earned - 434
Total Points Earned - 1285
Links are not allowed. In lieu of links, please read this:
Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.
Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.
The product id is the number given to the item in the URL. So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number. If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta.
It's not a search, but the direct url to the page.
Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar. It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204 Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.
My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:
(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward. E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward. Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase. Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.
Multiplier | 1 | 1.25 | 1.5 | 2 | 2.25 | 2.5 | 3 | 3.25 | 3.5 | 4 | 4.25 | 4.5 | 5 | 7.25 | 7.5 | 8 | 8.25 | 8.5 | 9 | 9.25 | 9.5 | 10 | 10.25 | 10.5 |

Those Frida lips are really nice aren’t they @Luvstravel ! I picked one up also, happily surprised!
Whoa, this brought a flash from last night's dream back pretty vividly. I dreamt that Ulta picked up Hourglass and I grabbed one of their palettes 😮😍💤
Sadly, I think that's even less likely than Hourglass, being a Kendo brand and all. 😥
This is a question for all you lovely ladies out there that are really good at skirting around buy in amounts for GWP's. Does anyone know a way to get to the $50 for the free throw without spending $50? TBH nothing excites me in their fragrance selection that's not at least $80+ and I really don't need perfume/cologne for myself or anyone. Thanks in advance 😘.
@niki172 Sometimes after the GWP period ends, I have seen Ulta sell the robes/throws on their own at a discount in the stores after Xmas. I don't remember exactly how much they were going for, but maybe just under $15?
I got around the $50 buy-in recently by buying 2 Homeworx candles and using a 20% off coupon. My total was...$32 plus tax. I am waiting for this order to be delivered right now actually.
@gingerleigh earlier this morning I tried it with the candles and it wasn't working at that time. I'm glad it worked for you. I was able to get it will the Ulta rollerball trick that Cindy mentioned below. Thanks for letting me know about the candles!
I dunno if you tried it this way or not, but there a little key step or trick to it that some folks overlook...my apologies if this is what you did!
1. Add three of the candles (you need the after-discount total to be $50 or more in the beginning)
2. Go to your cart and pick your blanket! If you don't do this now, it'll go poof when you get to the third step.
3. Now you can delete the third candle. For some weird reason, the blanket now sees the full price instead of the sale price, so the dip under $50 doesn't matter anymore.
Thanks for the tip @RGbrown that was the trick that worked with the roller balls :).
I did a test of it in my cart @niki172 to see if the candles are still on that sale and if the throw would add to my cart. The candles are still 2 for $40, but the throw didn't add to my cart. I wondered if maybe I had reached a limit on the throws and robes so I tried adding a different fragrance to my cart. That worked, the throw added to my cart, I removed the fragrance, and the throw stayed in my cart. So, that is typical complicated Ulta glitchiness.
I am glad you were able to make it work with the rollerballs! I didn't even read down the thread earlier to see you had found another way.
I do have a couple 20% off coupons I am not going to be using so anyone who wants one of them, please PM me about it.
@gingerleigh last year they told me they'd be available for $50 I didn't go back to see if they were discounted.
ooh, I love the scenery on those candles. 😄
$50? Idiots. 🙄 They go on sale for $10 or $15 iirc. I know the tote/duffel bags generally go for $10 once the promo is over, but I can't recall specifically what the robes and blankets went for last year.
@RGbrown Ikr? I don't think they like me, lol. :x maybe I'll have to go in there later and check...there were some pink backpacks the other day, I think they were like $15.
I'm really looking forward to trying out these candles @treestar86
Edit: Buying one for $50 is a laugh. I got the champagne one already with a previous order and it is really nice, but no way would I pay $50. Waiting for the rose throw 🙂
@gingerleigh Ikr!? I got 2 last year, so I didn't really need to buy one. 😄 especially since the fleece ones I get on clearance for like $7 are so cozy... I got the rose one, and wanted a robe but they're sold out online. I'll have to check the store...I wonder if I ordered online and got the blanket, if I could exchange it for the robe at the store (if they have them).
@treestar86 I think it is worth a shot. They always seem to have tons of robes in the stores.
