Let's keep this thread on topic!
Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):
Item #1 - $53.50
Item #3 - $108.50 (and is eligible for a certain item/brand 5x multiplier)
* There is also a 5x all purchase multiplier and you are platinum so you get 1.25x
Total Spent - $162
Base Points Earned - 162
Platinum .25x Earned - 41 (162 * .25 = 40.5, and rounding up)
5x All Purchases Earned - 648 (it ends up being 4x because you don't count the base points)
5x Item/Brand Earned - 434
Total Points Earned - 1285
Links are not allowed. In lieu of links, please read this:
Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.
Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.
The product id is the number given to the item in the URL. So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number. If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta.
It's not a search, but the direct url to the page.
Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar. It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204 Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.
My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:
(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward. E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward. Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase. Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.
Multiplier | 1 | 1.25 | 1.5 | 2 | 2.25 | 2.5 | 3 | 3.25 | 3.5 | 4 | 4.25 | 4.5 | 5 | 7.25 | 7.5 | 8 | 8.25 | 8.5 | 9 | 9.25 | 9.5 | 10 | 10.25 | 10.5 |

Fall Haul now through Oct 3!
And an app exclusive deal for today
Here's the $50 buy in gwp from 10x day on the top and the bottom row is the sample pack, which is mostly foils but still pretty impressive for a sample pack. At least they nailed this one. 🤷🏼♀️ Only sub was LP, got a weightless mask packet instead of styling cream but I'm happy to get the mask.
That happened to me too! Same replacement. I rather the tube, but I might already have a sample of it from Sephora. One of their styling creams the gray tube one that's a multitasker is pretty good. It's like I never get around to these packets.
@alexalicious I got the same substitution. I’m more likely to use a hair mask over a styling cream though so I’m ok with the sub. I also got the same foil packet.
I totally prefer the mask too! Btw @itscarin I had a reaction to something when I was traveling and got a bumpy skin rash on my hairline and back of my neck. I got recommended a shampoo called Dr Eddie's happy cappy for babies and it seemed to do the trick within a couple of washes. Amazon carries it if you can't get it locally. Apparently it's great on skin for malassezia folliculitis too.
Wow I think think it was fate that i read this today! I've got like the same problem and hairstylist last year said it's like I have baby's caps cradle. I've tried everything and nothing consistently works, but both my parents had it so it genetic but I will try this and hope it helps.
@alexalicious @My doctor told me to use baby shampoo, too. I wanted to argue with her more about this because I’ve been using briogeo shampoo and conditioner which is “clean” and “sulfate free” so ostensibly it’s shouldn’t be causing this. I did use some drybar conditioner that’s probably 2 years old sometime this week though. I wonder if it was that. I’m not even convinced it’s shampoo because I’ve been using the shampoos and conditioners in my tub for the past 3 months at least without incident. I’ve not introduced anything new. My dr kept trying to say maybe I wore a necklace that irritated my skin but it’s like hey, I haven’t even worn a wedding ring since I got to be about 9 mo pregnant. I’m definitely not wearing necklaces to go with my nursing bras and hoodies. II’m using the same bath and skin products, same detergents and fabric softeners, and I haven’t bought any new shirts in weeks. I mean, I caved and bought some cotton tee shirts a few months ago but no way is that causing my itchy neck and ears today. Sorry I’m going on a rant. I’m just so itchy!!!
@itscarin It worked for me, I'm sensitive to all sorts of stuff and it seemed to clear up my allergic skin reaction. Its medicated with pyrithione zinc which seems to treat a number of skin conditions. Hope this helps or your are able to resolve it quickly. It doesn't sound like much fun. Here's some of the product description:
Does it dry out your hair though makin it frizzy? Cuz i have Curly fine hair but thick and whenever I use t-sal or any dermatitis shampoo it actually dries out my hair. T-sal worked first time then it eventually made my scalp drier too. Oy.
Of course I should add always check with your doctor first, especially if you are nursing it pregnant. @itscarin
@civ2ru And what a time to cave in. I got a super itchy rash on my neck that my doctor thinks is from shampoo, so of course what did I buy on Monday? Shampoo. My doctor thinks I should avoid using any of my usual shampoos until I can see a dermatologist to figure out what’s causing out. LOL. God doesn’t want me to shop this year.
@itscarin Oh no... So sorry to hear that. Hope it’ll clear up for you soon.
@alexalicious my substitutions were the Clinique eye makeup remover instead of the eyeliner, a Juice Beauty moisturizer instead of the GlamGlow eye cream, and similar to you the Living Proof hair mask instead of the styling cream. I don't mind any of these subs. I was more upset about getting the Light foundation sampler pack when I requested the Dark one.
@sephoraaddict918 And my “fair” foundation sampler had a nice 0.24 oz Estée Lauder Double Wear sub... in a medium/tan 4N1 shade! I wonder what’s going on with their quality control. I’d be happy to give it to you, but it might not be dark enough?
Oh man there is definitely something wrong with their quality control cuz the double wear was only gonna be in medium pack and guess what I ordered multiple orders and only got it once! I almost cried cuz it was the only one I wanted so I was glad I got at least one and it actually matched. So they put darker shades in lighter packs, lighter shades in darker packs. Not good.
They're being "thoughtful" and giving you a summer shade for next year. LOL
I'm not sure why I keep getting a female symbol next to my emoji. I don't really care about my emoji's gender lol. How odd.
It's been happening ever since one of the latest updates @alexalicious. I don't recall if it has been shared with the mods or not. It is odd for sure
🤦♀️😭💔💸🤬 srsly? 🔴Red dots are missing (I got 3 foils as subs?) 🔵 Blue for sample size grossly misrepresented 🟣 Purple for same brand substitutions, although the Dermalogica one was a foil. Its not right when the buy in is $150, especially when it's advertised as an exclusive perk for platinum and diamond. It's just been ridiculous this year, they used to make a solid attempt at subbing but this isn't it. This was an A+ bag as advertised but a C- in execution. Its missing too many items, majorly down graded product sizes, and most of the brand subs aren't up to the excitement of cult status ones offered IMHO. I know it's a "gift" but the point of these is to entice you to spend $150 and I feel it's a bit of a bait and switch when it fails to come close to the advertised value or representation of items.
that's disappointing, but, I mean...considering that with all of the orders that you've posted here, at least w/the ones I've noticed, these gwp bags are often gotten for significantly less than the "required" spend, so is it really fair to say it's unfair or wasn't worth the specific amount, when you spent significantly less than "required" to get it? 🤔
