* There is also a 5x all purchase multiplier and you are platinum so you get 1.25x

Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.  

Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.

The product id is the number given to the item in the URL.  So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number.  If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta. 

It's not a search, but the direct url to the page. 

Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar.  It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204  Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.

My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:

(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward.  E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward.  Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase.  Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.

Two new multipliers per reddit, CoverFX and ABH (neither of which I got...I usually get ABH, but haven't bought any in forever, so I guess I finally dropped off that list. I don't think I've ever bought CoverFX, so perhaps that's why I didn't get it...). Both valid through 2/2.

I didn't get the Cover FX and ABH multipliers either and I've made recent purchases from both brands. Then I wake up to the Mario Badesco offer, yet I've never bought anything from his line. Ulta's marketing dept. is so bonkers.

@maxima I also recently purchased ABH, but didn't get the multiplier & never do Mario Badescu and got that. They're really mixing things up. (Thanks for the tip on Ulta CS!)

@NatureGirlSD I've given up on trying to figure out their methods. I believe that Ulta's system is very cheap (hence the consistent glitches...). Just as well that their marketing decisions are based on very rudimentary information and is more  randomized than one would believe. I'm trying to stick to a low-buy, so the less promos, the better. I hope the CS info helped you get your problems resolved.

Darn I didn't get either of these. I kinda want the Norvina palette, but seeing how a lot of ABH palettes go on sale I've been hanging back.

It would be interesting to know how they decide. I got the ABH one but I haven’t bought any ABH in at least a year (I like it but wait for the palettes to go on sale). The too faced one last month I would have used but didn’t get it.

@RGbrownIt's definitely not for lack of purchases.  I bought the soft glam palette sometime during the fall and the sultry palette in December.  I didn't get either of these multipliers either.  Aside from palettes, I don't really purchase ABH products. I've never purchased coverfx.

Because people talk about beauty as a whole and not just Sephora on here There are also threads covering beauty gwp bags at department stores, beauty deals from all over, and beauty brands that Sephora does not even sell like Chanel beauty and Diptyque. If the Beauty community was only allowed to discuss Sephora and products they sold, it would get very boring.

@lja7 I wondered the same thing when I first started using BIC. It is kind of funny and really nice of Sephora to be cool with it. They probably realize we would go to other sites and at least this way they see why we make purchases from competitors and the deals Ulta has going on.

@lja7 great question!  This thread started based on the deals too good to pass up thread that notcreative had.  I asked if anyone was interested in an exclusively Ulta thread.  I love the deals too good thread, but if I want to look up a coupon or gwp gt Ulta, I don't want to sift through all the random things that get posted on that thread.

If you stick around here you'll find a wealth of information on all things Ulta!  I've found that I get more bang for my buck at Ulta and that it's easier to get the samples I want at ulta. 

I think everyone on this board is a hyper-consumer, so we're all tuned in to social media and we're just trying to connect with other shopaholics.  if I tell my friends there's a 20 piece gwp sample bag at Ulta with a $50 purchase they'll  just look at me like I'm crazy.

The last thing I'll say is that the people who are the most active on this thread are just active users in general and also participate in other threads.  It's not like we're exclusively ulta-shoppers.  😇

@itscarin soooooo true. I ❤️❤️❤️ being able to connect with other enthusiasts who share our interests! Just look at how many of us are rouge, so shopaholics with a beauty habit... yes, definitely. No eyerolls here, just lots of enabling. This group is definitely my favorite!

Personally it is the first place I look before placing an order, so it's very useful and fun to have this group. It's clearly popular and even a source of info for several bloggers and vloggers. The format allows for easy sharing and interactions vs one-sided content, which means it draws considerable activity, comparable to some social media outlets. I think it is smart for Sephora to allow it, as it means more people use their app and regularly see what they are promoting, potentially shopping more. It also gives them ownership of the content of these threads, which allows them to gather information on competitors, shoppers and their habits. So it's a win for both consumers and the business IMHO.
