Let's keep this thread on topic!
Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):
Item #1 - $53.50
Item #3 - $108.50 (and is eligible for a certain item/brand 5x multiplier)
* There is also a 5x all purchase multiplier and you are platinum so you get 1.25x
Total Spent - $162
Base Points Earned - 162
Platinum .25x Earned - 41 (162 * .25 = 40.5, and rounding up)
5x All Purchases Earned - 648 (it ends up being 4x because you don't count the base points)
5x Item/Brand Earned - 434
Total Points Earned - 1285
Links are not allowed. In lieu of links, please read this:
Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.
Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.
The product id is the number given to the item in the URL. So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number. If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta.
It's not a search, but the direct url to the page.
Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar. It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204 Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.
My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:
(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward. E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward. Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase. Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.
Multiplier | 1 | 1.25 | 1.5 | 2 | 2.25 | 2.5 | 3 | 3.25 | 3.5 | 4 | 4.25 | 4.5 | 5 | 7.25 | 7.5 | 8 | 8.25 | 8.5 | 9 | 9.25 | 9.5 | 10 | 10.25 | 10.5 |

@socalsunflowerUnidentified
Aw man! Well, I'm glad it was in at least some of the bags. Happy you got it! ๐
Ever since Trendmood did a major post about this new line, I've been wanting to try it. Of course, Ulta didn't send me the freebie promo. I guess Diamonds are expected to blind-buy any and everything.
I got this one too which is a great surprise as it's been a loooong time, and also I really want to try this new line out.
@niki172 I used to get so many and I couldn't have gotten more than 4 in the last 6 months. Too bad for them because they almost always got me in the store. Hoping they have this when I pop in over the weekend.
Good luck @CC3616! My store NEVER has any of the freebies in stock.
Wish I got more of the $25 buy in bag! Mine had a full size benefit mascara and a coola firming tanning lotion that wasnโt advertised on top of the LโOrรฉal tanning lotion.
The clairins inโs night creme is a decent size too!
Looks like Platinum Perk Day will indeed be next Monday, the 14th! Details to come ๐
I can't wait!
I'm itching to pull the trigger on a couple of things and just get the $70 Skincare Samples even though nothing there interests me but hey it's FrEeeeEeE! But I'd rather wait for Plat Perk Day and get something I want instead. ๐
Hoping to see the details soon!! ๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ๐๐๐๐ค๐ค๐ค
I've got my fingers crossed that I actually get that email. I am so tired of being left out! ๐
From today's email:
@alexalicious Please run for some sort of political office; I'd vote for you. ๐
Quick Question- if anyone has any insight I'd appreciate you sharing it with me...
I returned an item I had used points to purchase but never received my points back for it. I emailed customer care but they had no idea what I was asking for or talking about... I might call unless it is normally out of the question to get points back. Darn, I wish the gal who did the return just gave me the option to keep it so I could have just passed it on to a friend who might have used it.
Anyway, if anyone has any thoughts on it thank you so much! ๐
@sarahshter I know what you're talking about. But you should have received your points back. If I return something online I get my points back, or at least I used to unless they've changed their policies.
Over the past year, I've wanted to return a few things that I've bought with points.
But I always decided against it. Ulta does not have a defined and consistent policy about points in regards to returns. I've talked to more than a few CS supervisors and their responses always differ. That's an issue. No, it's a dumpster fire!! That a major retailer cannot inform a customer of what their refund will be until after the return.
The day we had the big glitch, the Beauty Blitz Deal was the Becca Lava Gold Highlighter and Volcano Goddess palette for 50% off. I ordered those items and Jaclyn Hill's Morphe brushes, but got a cancellation email. So the next day, I placed another order which included those two products and used 2000 points. Only for the glitch order to actually go through. I called CS twice and explained the situation, which they couldn't resolve. Of course..... So rather than return a $38 highlighter and get back in points what could've been the dollar value of a Happy Meal, I just kept it all. Lesson learned.
@sarahshter I'm guessing that you returned in store. I recently returned two lip products which didn't suite my skin tone. I purchased these with points, when they rang the items, it showed that I would receive $6 back and the associate couldn't tell me how many points I would get and told me to try to mail it back instead. I didn't want to deal with the hassle of returning it via mail and said to just go for it and return it. Upon receiving my receipt it showed a slightly worst redemption value returned, but the majority of my points were recovered. Did you happen to get the receipt from the register? that would help your case immensely
