Please do NOT post requests for the spreadsheet in this thread. Please post requests for the Ulta GWP google spread sheet in this thread: http://community.sephora.com/t5/Off-Topic/Ulta-GWP-Google-Spreadsheet-Request-Thread/m-p/2753063#M11...

Let's keep this thread on topic!
Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):
Item #1 - $53.50
Item #3 - $108.50 (and is eligible for a certain item/brand 5x multiplier)
* There is also a 5x all purchase multiplier and you are platinum so you get 1.25x
Total Spent - $162
Base Points Earned - 162
Platinum .25x Earned - 41 (162 * .25 = 40.5, and rounding up)
5x All Purchases Earned - 648 (it ends up being 4x because you don't count the base points)
5x Item/Brand Earned - 434
Total Points Earned - 1285
Links are not allowed. In lieu of links, please read this:
Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.
Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.
The product id is the number given to the item in the URL. So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number. If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta.
It's not a search, but the direct url to the page.
Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar. It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204 Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.
My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:
(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward. E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward. Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase. Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.
Multiplier | 1 | 1.25 | 1.5 | 2 | 2.25 | 2.5 | 3 | 3.25 | 3.5 | 4 | 4.25 | 4.5 | 5 | 7.25 | 7.5 | 8 | 8.25 | 8.5 | 9 | 9.25 | 9.5 | 10 | 10.25 | 10.5 |

Retail me not $20 on purchases over $100 offer - FYI they are not counting reward redemption towards that purchase total. I am SUPER annoyed I chose to use retailmenot when I could have used ebates or mrrebates and received 4 or 5% on my total purchase (including rewards). Instead, I got 0% back from retailmenot.
@itscarin What code did you use?/Was this a retailmenot member thing, or a code that can be used by going to Ulta directly? I was hoping to use the $20 off $100 purchase to get it stacked with the points multiplier (if it's still going on!).
I'm not @itscarin, but I'm around and can help 😄
It's not a code. RMN also offers cashback, similar to ebates, mr rebates etc. I don't think their offers are always the same for everyone, and they change up quite frequently, but here's what I see now when I go there:
When I click on "get reward" my offer is $10 back for $75+ or $15 back on $100+.
RMN pays out via paypal, and they're usually pretty speedy, IIRC. I've only used them a time or two, but it seems I had the payout within a couple weeks, or maybe a month?
You went above and beyond - as per usual @RGbrown! Thanks! I just learned that RMN is like eBates. Interesting! I just might have to join!
The trick to getting CB on pre-points instead of post-points seems to be using a coupon...if I don't use a q, I only get CB on what I spent, not my points redemption, even at Mr R and Ebates. I've never used RMN for CB at Ulta, so I can't say for sure it would work there too, but I'd give it a decent probability.
I typically only use points with a 20%, but on the rare occasion I redeem them without one, I make sure I can use the weekly q (3.50 off 15 or whatever it happens to be). Spending a few points on drugstore stuff gets me more CB, so I find it worth it.
Boo. I hate when that happens, or when I forget to link to Ebates.

@ClassicallyFab But, but, but... I just placed an order without this! 😭😭😭 As much as it hurts to leave behind a GWP, I have to admit I literally have a 20" x 20" x 36" box FULL of samples I don't need. I just had a friend ask me the other day for a mascara recommendation... I could have passed these along.
Sometimes I feel like a free-sample-piñata because if you held me upside down and hit me with a stick I'd bleed samples. LOL I've had a couple of situations where someone has just wishfully said "I need x" and then I happen to have an unopened sample of x on me. Anyway, I need to walk away from the GWPs. I probably (definitely) have too many.
Lol @itscarin!
Having products is a wonderful thing, and stacking GWP’s is super fun and exciting. It’s fun to share things, too. Actually, free samples have found me some of my all-time fave products!
For Christmas last year, I filled my boyfriend’s stocking to the brim with cologne samples. He was in heaven. Last week, he saw my sample stash because he wanted some serum, and he said, “I’m jealous, you’re making me feel like my stash is so little.”, lol.
Lately, I’ve been only pulling the trigger when my desire is impossible to contain. I have So much stuff right now that I don’t want to expire. Hahaha.

Aw man, I'm kinda sad about this. I was all psyched up for the other one. Even though it's more drugstore-based, it's got a few things I was looking forward to trying, but I have all the Nars items 😄
@ohheyitscindyk Sweet! This GWP inspired me to do a chart on the points system. I'm debating whether or not I want to buy some ABH products to get 7.25x and this GWP. @RGbrown check it out! LOL (I added it on the top of the thread behind a spoiler)
I have to put in a plug for this product, Frederick Benjamin's Bump Clear Post Shave & Razor Bump Cream. My son always has acne where his whiskers grow, and they get more irritated after he shaves. He used Billy Jealousy Hydroplane Shaving Cream (which he says was crap and hard to get a shave with, but I'll have to try it and see,) then this FB Bump Clear cream, and his shaving area was spotless! I couldn't believe it. It's only available at Ulta online .
Anyone else notice the only sample available now is variety? That's a bit of a bummer if we can't pick a category anymore; I hope it's not a permanent shift!
I agree, but I've noticed that I've gotten samples that are related to my order the last two times, so I'm not too upset about that.
Upcoming Beauty Break!
- Looking at the spreadsheet for last year, possibly tomorrow's.
