Let's keep this thread on topic!
Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):
Item #1 - $53.50
Item #3 - $108.50 (and is eligible for a certain item/brand 5x multiplier)
* There is also a 5x all purchase multiplier and you are platinum so you get 1.25x
Total Spent - $162
Base Points Earned - 162
Platinum .25x Earned - 41 (162 * .25 = 40.5, and rounding up)
5x All Purchases Earned - 648 (it ends up being 4x because you don't count the base points)
5x Item/Brand Earned - 434
Total Points Earned - 1285
Links are not allowed. In lieu of links, please read this:
Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.
Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.
The product id is the number given to the item in the URL. So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number. If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta.
It's not a search, but the direct url to the page.
Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar. It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204 Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.
My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:
(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward. E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward. Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase. Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.
Multiplier | 1 | 1.25 | 1.5 | 2 | 2.25 | 2.5 | 3 | 3.25 | 3.5 | 4 | 4.25 | 4.5 | 5 | 7.25 | 7.5 | 8 | 8.25 | 8.5 | 9 | 9.25 | 9.5 | 10 | 10.25 | 10.5 |

@SnowyZebra21 This was an amazing deal!! Thank you for posting it👍🏻
Yay!! I made an order too and used some points so I only paid $15 🙂 this worked out perfect because I need a new face cream to use during the day! And the serum doesn’t hurt 😉
Where are the codes for these freebies?
@casey5 The freebies were from a Platinum Perk Day on the first, so unfortunately, they have expired.
Awe man!! Thank you so much for replying though;) so I didn’t spend forever searching lol
I get the feeling there were a lot of orders like this being placed today, 😃
I never tried this particular serum but I have yet to be truly disappointed by anything put out by IT cosmetics. Plus we get a full sized Perricone item? Woot woot!
Now I just hope I picked the right shade of the Julep perfecter. Anyone know if ULTA in store would do an exchange for a better shade fit?
They have never done that for me, but I am going to try again anyway because I needed the palest shade they had in that Julep perfector, and it was long gone by the time I placed my order. Selected a neutral darker shade anyway in the hopes of exchanging for pale...hope springs eternal
They always want to do a return + repurchase which blows any chance of hanging onto your savings. Happened to me last year with a BareMinerals foundation deal. Seems really unfair, but maybe others have had better experiences with ulta. Who knows... I am curious too.
I’m still showing as Platinum, online...
I'm cool with remaining at Platinum for now. I don't use their salon services and spending $1200 just to get free shipping on my orders over $25 seems ludicrous.
Ugh - I had really hoped they’d grandfather us in to Diamond level based on 2017 spend, but sure does’t look like it - I couldn’t even find info about diamond level on their site...
Agreed @Tamara76. It's nice that they are recognizing the bigger spends but disappointing that it didn't kick into effect right away! And a shipping minimum??
Maybe someone here can answer this. Would this be actual money spent? Like if I cash in points, does that count towards Platinum/Diamond status? Or do I actually have to spend $450-$1200?
@suzyo it is actual money spent. The points you cash it do not count towards reaching a tier.
Me, too. Even though I knew they would not count last year's spend, I really hoped they would. It will be a while before I hit $1200, but I easily hit that last year. Oh, well. Other than the new requirement to activate the 2x points during the birth month, none of the changes seem negative. So, those who spend over $1200 just get added bonuses. I look forward to seeing how it all plays out and hope the top level has more differences than Rouge vs VIB. The way it is looking so far, it really does not.
Yeah... Look, I love Ulta truly, madly, deeply, but $1200 for that? I can spend $200 less than that here and get free shipping on everything with no minimum. I wouldn't even mind the free shipping at $25 with a lower diamond minimum or the higher tier threshold if it meant free shipping, but right now it's just completely out of balance.
I would have liked to have free shipping with either a $10-$15 minimum or if you buy at least one prestige item.
Even if Ulta does ship to Canada we don't have this program (pretty sure anyways). I'm really surprised at this new tier... I expected more from them. Did the Sephora marketing team move to Ulta? Yikes!
$1200 is steep and to not even get free shipping. Yeah, I think that someone needs to restructure this.
I wouldn't even know HOW to spend $1200 a year at Ulta! (I'd have NO problem spending that at Sephora, to my credit card's everlasting regret.) Honestly, $1200 a year, and free shipping only after $25?? They should be giving the F/S after $25 to Platinum members. If I spent $1200, I'd expect my order delivered by limousine. By the CEO.
