Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

Welcome back to the deal sharing fun! Deals shared here may also be posted to my blog (same name as the thread) unless you write for BT only. If I share your deal, I will always thank you here. I will heart every deal I see (without an outside or cheat link) to acknowledge it.

Beautytalk (the forum) does not allow outside links. A heart with no comment means I already have the deal or am deciding not to list it. Please list the retailer (without the link or cheat link; dot com) if it is not mentioned in the picture. Mods come in more often when they see any type of link. Thanks for sharing (original deals and repeats are welcome)! Please also share any deal haul you want, especially mystery gifts.

Discussion is encouraged. A lot of questions come with certain deals or retailers. When I see questions I can answer, I will respond (unless the poster consistently ignores me or someone else already answered the complete question). I read all the main posts (so no need to tag me). If you're replying to a post that is not near the top of the thread and want me or a specific person to see it, please tag us.

If you're posting about something on sale at Sephora, please share it here:

I thought I edited this to leave a message here, but after reading some private messages, I realize it did not take. This time, I will make sure it does before I sign off. Instead of waiting until I can return to reading every message to return at all, I will just pop in on certain days. I hope everyone is doing well. For me, some days are better than others.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

The first bag is listed in the Ulta GWP section, too.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

@Anonymous Thank you!

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

Mrrebates has links to both bags, but only the skincare GWP is showing free in my cart. I have 2000 points burning a hole in my account, so I hope the Sona Garaspan bag goes live soon!

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

Ebates has a  link for the Sona bag, but it's still not showing as free when I put $75 worth of stuff in my cart.  Also, this bag seems to be one of the lightest (as far as skintone) that I've seen.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

AHH can't get the second bag to work. And I'm determined to not miss another one of these. It's 1am Pacific now, are we waiting on Hawaii? 😕

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

Thanks for the heads up @notcreative! I love a stacking opportunity!

It seems from playing around with my cart that the first bag isn't free with just any $70 skincare purchase (as it says!) because I was browsing "all skincare" and added over $70 of items to my cart and still being charged $70 for it. It wasn't until I added a couple of moisturisers that it became free...but Tarte maracuja oil, Tarte BB Tinted Treatment Primer and Urban Decay One and Done didn't seem to count, even though they're listed in the skincare category. Am I missing something? I didn't see any other fine print so thought anything within "skincare" would be okay.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

It seems that some skincare items are excluded. The items I had picked had an "excluded from coupons" disclaimer 😞 Those items were ones with a brand specific GWP, so maybe that's why they don't count? No double dipping allowed? 😞

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

@spubuUsually the 'excluded from coupons' means the $3.50 off $15 type coupons...at least I think, I'm not an expert in Ulta 😄 And they don't seem to mind stacking gwps usually so this just seems a bit odd with no real rhyme or reason!

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

Oh I see...I'm new to Ulta so I should probably just wait to see what the experts figure out before trying to work out this deal! Hopefully we'll all get some goodies out of this one!

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

@spubu excluded from coupons is for the typical coupon Ulta puts out, shows on their homepage as well. Coupon terms say excludes prestige.

You can stack freebies at Ulta. Gwp bags aren't entered in the coupon box during checkout, just need to meet the minimum spend before tax/ship charges and add them to the cart (other gifts appear as a drop down box during checkout, so be sure to add 'em).

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

@TrysBeautyItems Thank you for the explanation 😄 Makes better sense now!

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

@spubu ulta gets confusing 😛

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

I think skincare means traditional skincare, so things that double as makeup probably won't work. I have not tested it yet, but I assume body items would not work either.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

@notcreative  I was able to put the first bag into my cart with only makeup products.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

@Ispend2much6Which items worked for you?

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

@Anonymous  I put in a few Clarins lip products; no skin care or  hair products.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

I think $70 of any Clarins makeup will make the skincare bag free so perhaps it's the brand that they've classified as skincare rather than the products (or maybe it's just a mistake). I wonder if there are any other brands this might work with?

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

@Anonymous  It didn't work with IT Cosmetics brushes or eyeshadow palettes, so you might be correct about the brand being important.

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

@Ispend2much6I haven't been able to get it to work for any other makeup so far (like Clinique, which I think of as a skincare brand) but it does seem to work for some body lotions (which are sometimes excluded from skincare).

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

@Ispend2much6 Thanks! I'd rather buy makeup than skincare so I'll keep trying things and see if any other non-skincare works!

Re: Deals Too Good to Pass Up (Volume Five)

Jeez, FINALLY! Ulta has been so stingy lately. No good perks, nothing to make me finally push the purchase button. This may finally do it!

thanks for posting @notcreative

Someone a while ago mentioned the new CEO that took over last year hates coupons. I'm starting to wonder if her decisions are reducing the amount of good stuff lately. The Wednesday deals (can't remember the exact name) have been inconsistent and not great. Sorry for the rant, I'm just unhappy with the offerings lately.
