Lost scent certificate

I bought my boyfriend a cologne sampler for christmas. He did not know that he needed to keep the paper that lets you redeem a sample for a whole size bottle. I know this is a long shot, but is there anyway to get that replaced or to look up the purchase and see if it has been redeemed. He is in love with one of the scents!! Please let me know if there is anything that can be done.
