Help me, i have no idea what I'm doing!

I've been on a very long quest to find my ''HG" beauty items which should obviously begin with skin. I'm 39 this year and thank my good Indian heritage for no real wrinkle or lines except the ones the kids call the run ones. But as I face 40, i need to know, WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO SKINCARE??? Help me lol. From cleanser to moisturizer all the way to foundation. Thank you!

Re: Help me, i have no idea what I'm doing!

I am with you!  Skincare is how I made Rouge status at Sephora.  I'm no expert so I used trial and error with different lines and products before coming to the stuff that made my combination oily T-zone/dry cheeks feel comfortable and gave me a healthy glow.  Also tried to find things that smelled and felt good to me because otherwise I wouldn't want to put it on.  Below is super detailed - sorry if it is too long!

My Night Routine: Makeup Cleanser (Clinique Take the Day Off or Tatcha Camellia Cleansing Oil), Exfoliating Pad (First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads- super saturated so I cut them in half to get more for my money), Skin Mist (optional and a treat for dry days: Tatcha Luminous Skin Mist), Serum (First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum), Eye Cream (It Bye Bye Under Eye Eye Cream), Moisturizer (Tatcha Water Cream when I need pampering, Belif Moisturizing Bomb most days, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydra Firm Sleeping Cream on days when skin feels dull/dry).

My morning routine: Light Cleanser (First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser- sale this week!), Serum (First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum), Eye Cream (Korres Yoghurt Under Eye Priming Moisturiser), Moisturizer (Belif Moisturizing Bomb or First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Intense Hydration Cream during the cold dry months, Aqua Bomb on warmer days).

Still figuring out primer, foundation, concealer... Thank goodness for Sephora samples from the store and deluxe samples online.

RE: Help me, i have no idea what I'm doing!

Hi. I know how you feel- it is very overwhelming starting a skincare routine tailored to your skin. I truly believe in double cleansing, toner, essence, serum and moisturizer (plus facial sunscreen during the day. If I exfoliate, it will happen before my toner. If I use a mask that needs to be washed off, it will also be before my toner. If it is a sheet mask, it will before my serum, as a second essence. I hope this isn't too much. I just wanted to give you some info because for a long time, I had no idea of what I was doing! I hope you find this helpful!
